lots to be thankful for

When times are tough. It's hard to hard to think about the things we have to be thankful for.
But that's when it's most important to bring those things into focus.
It goes without saying that I'm thankful for the health and happiness of my family. But my family extends well beyond my front porch
.After putting roughly 22 years of service in one place it's hard not to have a large family. Recently, I learned my duties would change a bit at FOX11 and MY13 News. For the past 5 1/2 years, along with my sports duties on the FOX 11 10 o'clock News, I co-anchored the 11PM News on MY 13. Boy has that been a blast! It ain't easy reporting tragedy, doom and gloom. But then you get to mix in the happy events that help balance out our world.
In our own, sometimes unusual way, me, Lauren Sanchez and Maria Quiban tried to add some personality to the stories of the day. We hope those of you who caught that newscast had as much fun watching as we had brining it to you!
Starting soon my wonderful colleagues Carlos Amezcua and Christine Devine will be doing the FOX News not only on channel 11 at 10PM but on Channel 13 at 11PM as well. They are terrific and will bring their own style to the broadcast.
I will continue doing sports on the show and be joined by our dancing weatherman Mark Thompson.
Well I can't say that I won't miss doing MY 13 News. But I'm very THANKFUL for having the chance to do the show. And even more THANKFUL for the wonderful producers, writers, editors, camera people, reporters and everyone else who helped make the broadcast an amazing experience!

We're so thankful to have Illegal Alien chuntes KILLING Americans on our own soil and sucking the State's coffers dry of our tax dollars leaving us either dead or billions of dollars in debt. And so thanful our local Media spokesholes don't mention one word of these things. Thankful indeed...

Rick, I am so sorry to see you guys will no longer be on My13 News. I enjoyed watching you guys you adde SPUNK to the news, unlike all those other reporters who stick to the same 'ol same'old....

Women in L.A. shold be thankful there are only 7,400 idle RAPE-KITS in LAPD storage. I wonder how Bratton, Villar, and Jack Weiss look at the women in their lives? Just how can they face them? Thankful indeed...

What a complete SHOCK ... will definitely miss y'all, and cannot imagine the logic in replacing the only unique local reporting with a *duplicate* already available at another channel.

Thanks for all the many, many evenings we shared.

I can't believe all they did was duplicate the 10 o'clock news! very silly!

Dfdeportatio- i think you missed the point that this was Rick's way of saying bye.........

you could have responed to that, or started your own blog with the topic being " i am NOT thankful because......."

No!!! why are you guys out!!!
and I agree with fmanzo13 its just a 30 minute duplicate nothing new...
You guys were(are) awesome. From what I saw you were the only newscast that did stories outside from the U.S., you put your characters into the news when appropriate/ or not.. ^_^
either way you guys are the best.

...seriously i Like Chris & Carlos at channel 11 not at channel 13!!!

What a shock! I turned on my TV to watch My 13 News, my favorite newscast, and you weren't there! I am soo sad!! I will miss watching you guys! I hope the best for you and would love to see you and Lauren together hosting some other show again!

WTF!?! I just found out you guys aren't on anymore! Why??? You, Lauren and Maria were the reason I watched My13News. I liked how you covered everything PLUS I liked that you didn't use the same old BORING format of sitting behind some behemoth desk. That concept alone made you guys stand out and unique. I'm sure Carlos and Christine are good reporters, but they're just like the thousands of other TV news anchors: B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Who made this bonzo call??? They need to pull their heads out of their we-all-know-wheres and give us back you guys!!!

I have been watching your telecast for 4 years and now i've stopped. Whoever made the decision to take you guys off the air should be fired. I'll watch 13 when they put you three back on and i will not support any of the advertisers that sponsor the new format and team.

I have to admit that this a bone headed move by the Fox management. I enjoyed the world news Segment. LA is NOT the centre of the world.

i am sad to learn that i am not going to see maria, lauran, and u at 11 :-( the news is not the same without the three amigos. i am not supporting the other reports. By the way who deciced to make the changes. not a smart choice.

I have to tell you that my husband and I were extremely disappointed when Lauren Sanchez and Rick Garcia were removed as anchors for My 13 News. And we are not alone...almost everywhere I go...picking up my kids from school, the grocery store, getting my nails done, etc...many people are talking about it. Over the last couple days when Lauren was filling in as anchor, you could just see the chemistry between Lauren and Rick...it seemed Carlos felt out of place. Many people share my sentiments...young and old. If you really want higher ratings, you would put Lauren and Rick back on together as anchors for My Fox 11 News. I admit now that I do not watch the newcast anymore except for a glimpse of Mark, the dancing weather guy...other than him, it is the same as every other newscast in LA...boring and dull. But, bring back Lauren and Rick and you'll have a winner for sure!
