I must be sick, or obsessed about fat cats.  I have adopted another one from the friendly people at Operation Kindness.  Jonnie England, Executive Director of Operation Kindness thought of ME right away when she ran across this 'monster.'  His name is Rascal, and this IS A HUGE CAT!  I will post a picture of him soon and plan on showing pictures of him on Good Day Saturday THIS coming Saturday morning.  I hope you get a chance to see him.

A VERY friendly cat even though he's hiding quite a bit around the house right now.  I'm letting him keep his distance until he gets more relaxed around the house.  If you have any 'fat' cats, show me a picture of him.  Even though I love cats, my dog 'Sir Lancelot', my Black Lab, is still my best friend and my favorite pet............but please don't tell Rascal.

Stay tuned....pictures coming soon.....

It's OK Ron...if you don't pick them, they will pick you. Good for you giving another monster a good home. We have 4 (all rescues) and a dog (another rescue). Can't wait to see him on Saturday!

Ron you have such a kind heart, may God bless you for helping these sweet little angels. I am sure it won't be long before Rascal is used to your place and he will display some of the mannerisms that earned him the name Rascal.

My husband is kind hearted towards animals too, we live in a small zoo with 5 dogs, 1 cat and a very spoiled quaker parrot who rules the roost. My husband feeds all of the stray cats in the neighborhood and a three legged racoon that lives in the woods behind our house (he is disabled so my husband puts the food on the other side of the fence so he doesn't have to crawl over). Our latest dog, Lillie came to us as a result of a woman who was taking her to the SPCA.... out of the three million people in Dallas for this woman to approach, she approached my husband, who was writing a ticket, and asked for directions to the SPCA. Needless to say, the dog never made it to the SPCA, he brought it home with him.

God Blessed the animal rescuers with lots of animals who need rescueing! Just not enough of us to go around, sad to say. I can only afford to be owned by 2 small dogs and a cockatiel, but when I win the lottery I'll rescue a ranch full!! (And post the pics!)
Thank God for us all to be alive in His wonderful plan.
I have a couple of "fat" cat pics in my photo albums, if you want to see. :)

I love rescue stories! We are fellow rescuers, and we have a menagerie...LOL

We have horses, dogs, a cat, snakes, rabbits and ferrets that have all been rescued :) there are other animals, not rescues, but I'll stop there before everyone thinks I've lost what's left of my mind...LOL

Can't wait to see the pics, of all of our animals, my horses and cat are my favorites!

I have 2 rescue dogs myself, plus a chuhuaua I bought for my husband, if I lived in the country I would love to rescue as many animals as possible. I never knew cats could get that big. That is one big kitty, I would hate to have him pounce on me and attack my leg, like cats like to do. Good luck with you new kitty.

I saw the pics of Rascal this morning. All I can say is WOW!!!!! He's HUGE!!! Has he gotten more comfortable in his new home yet?

Our cat is a stray that adopted us recently. His name is Zaboo. He's not a fat cat, yet, but he's got potential...LOL. He's tall, and big boned but he's so thin from living on his own. We'll fatten him up, though :) I'll post pics when we do...LOL

Ron Jackson Meteorologist It all started when I was only in the third grade. I did a science project on weather. I always thought it was fascinating to look at the clouds, read thermometers, and wonder why the wind blows. I was also fascinated by watching the local TV weather forecasters try to predict and explain the upcoming weather. Believe it or not, my parents were against me becoming a TV meteorologist. They told me there just weren't enough jobs out there to make a career of it. I went to a very small grade school in Northern Illinois where there were only 110 students in grades 1-8. Actually, there were only 11 in my class, and as far as I can remember, I was the only one who had his mind set on what he wanted to do for a living. Who said dreams can't come true? After graduating high school in Antioch, IL, my mind was still set on becoming a TV meteorologist. My parents, who were still against it, suggested I take up Chemistry, or even join the Navy. There aren't many schools that offer a degree in Meteorology, and going to an out-of-state school was something that would be very difficult for my parents to handle financially. So I went to junior college for 2 years, then I transferred to Northern Illinois University. It's a school that has an excellent reputation for its Meteorology program, and one that offers its students a chance to audition for their cable TV news that airs every night. What an opportunity! By my senior year, I was the main on-camera Meteorologist for the "Dekalb Evening News". Even though I didn't my degree yet, it was great being called a Meteorologist by future journalists in the newsroom. Schooling was tough. A lot of physics and calculus. It was even harder to get my first job in television. After sending out numerous tapes, and being rejected by just about everyone, I was able to land my first job with WSAU-TV in Wausau, WI, as weekend Meteorologist. That was the break I needed. I worked in Wausau only six months, before I took a weekend job at WOI-TV in Des Moines, IA. Two years later, I got the big call to come here to Dallas. I've been at KDFW for more than 15 years, and I've loved every minute of it. I can't think of a better place to live or work than here! In my spare time, I umpire baseball -- that's something I've done for almost 20 years. I'm qualified to umpire up to minor-league Double-A professional baseball, but I mostly call games for Pony and Mustang leaguers. If I weren't working in TV full-time, this would be my second career choice. In my "other" spare time, I teach Meteorology at several colleges and universities in the area. It's nice being on the other side of the desk for a change. I am also a Ham Radio operator, with a technician license. My call sign is N5OJT, and you can usually find me on Weather RACES Nets across the area, during severe weather. I'm also a big animal lover, with a black lab, 2 cats (one which weighs 26 pounds) and a large parrot. Thanks for watching!
