SKevin's Rant

I was wanting to know if anyone had used FTD flower delivery for Valentine's day yesterday. I ordered a real nice bouquet for my wife on February 6th for a February 14th delivery. I paid for it including a hefty delivery charge. It didn't make it. It was one of those awkward things because I wanted it to be a surprise since she had to work last night and I would not see her.  I didn't ask her until this morning and it did not make it to her school. I have not had a problem before with Valentine's deliveries so this is a first. Then again this is my first time using FTD instead of another company.

I have tried their customer service and there is a recording saying they are too busy to answer calls. They suggest internet follow up. I did that, too, 3 times beginning yesterday afternoon. No email reply yet. I am thinking I need a refund since the effect is kind of over now.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I would see about going over customer service's head if you don't get a response. I'm sure that they are all busy fielding other complaints; I'm sure yours isn't the only one. I've never used FTD, but it sounds like they shouldn't be used in the future.

this actually happened to me on my very first Valentines Day after I got married....I used a local florist though.....they actually called my new wife personally, and explained that it wasn't my fault....they sent her a nice arrangement....(the day AFTER valentines day)....they apologized and give me 50% discount on my NEXT purchase....it ended up well.....thank god........

Sorry to hear about this happening to you Kev.......that blows.....

It does. I don't plan to accept a discount on the next one since they can't seem to deliver in the first place.

June-thanks for the suggestion. I am trying customer service but its a recording.Got to love automated response options. My next move is to try to figure out which florist in The Colony would have been the one to put it all together.

Awww kevin, that's too bad. I'm sure your wife undertood after you explained that you had not forgotten her. I hope they work it out for you. If you paid by credit card then call your credit card company and they will reverse the charges for you

Demand a refund SKevin and that they also send her the flowers (bigger and better) with a written apology from the Florist.

That is really a bummer. Personally I have no idea how the florists can guarantee Valentines day delivery on that specific day. I know in the past that I have sent flowers on VDay for my mom or grandmother that they would not guarantee Feb 14 so I opted for a day earlier.

I'd definitely seek a refund. Wish I would have known earlier, I gave away over 500 roses yesterday after giving my wife a dozen.

I appreciate all the feedback. I ended up reporting them to PayPal. I sell a lot on ebay and used PayPal to pay for the order. FTD is one of PayPal's "trusted sellers". Hopefully I will get a refund soon.

I teach at a middle school in a suburb north of Dallas and I love it. I am married to a teacher as well. My wife is from New Orleans and we spend much of our time in New Orleans-the greatest city in the world and I am Dallas born and raised. We wish we could make a life there and we did try because we wanted to help with the recovery but it was just not possible. We see Dallas as our place to work and New Orleans as our place to live. It will come back. When I have free time I like to read, work on home improvement projects, cook, write, and sell/buy on Ebay.
