Hearing continued for brothers in puppy torture case
Associated Press
Published on: 10/09/06
Monday's scheduled court hearing for two brothers charged with torturing a puppy and putting the animal in an oven has been continued.
Joshua Moulder, 17, and Justin Moulder, 18, are accused of binding the dog with duct tape, dousing her with paint and putting the puppy in an overn at the community center at Englewood Manor Apartments, where they lived.
The brothers face an 11-count indictment on charges including aggravated cruelty to animals, burglary, criminal damage to property in the second degree, making terroristic threats and five misdemeanor counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.
The child cruelty charges stem from reports by neighborhood children that the teen enticed them to the center to see the dead puppy and threatened to kill them if they told anyone they knew.
Meanwhile, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard is lobbying state lawmakers to increase sentences for animal cruelty. The maximum now is five years in prison.
Howard was recently honored by the Humane Society of the United States.
In Howard's words, "Something is wrong with a person who would torture a helpless animal."

Lee, I'm sorry I'm just now getting around to answering your question about the Class A team here but they're the Rome Braves. An affiliate of you guessed it...the Atlanta Braves. I've never been a big Atlanta fan but the Rome Braves offer up some pretty decent ball to watch. And they have a nice new stadium. Gotta love the minors!
