Just how do the fabulously wealthy spend their money? Apparently quite easily.

Researchers surveyed people who own their very own JETS (that's probably the pinnacle of wealth) to find out how much they spend ... and on what. (It's to help advertisers target their ads for luxury products.)

- On average, they spend $30,000 a year on alcohol.
- How about $107,000 a year on spas?
- $147,000 a year on WATCHES!?

If you own a jet, you likely do so for business purposes. If you spend that much on each of those items, you're likely making sales of many millions of dollars. It's probably worth it to you and your company in the long run.

However, I have never been comfortable with the whole notion of sales people who wine and dine clients. If the product isn't good enough to be sold without a bunch of alcoholic inducements, it probably isn't worth buying anyway.

$147,000 on WATCHES?! That is more than my home. Even if I had the money, I would not spend it on watches - give me a break!

I don't even make $30,000 a year and they spend that much on just alcohol?
$147,000 on watches? I work for a large jewelry company where some of the watches cost over $5,000. But each year on watches? What, they gotta match every outfit in their Prada closet?
$107,000 at the spas...that's alot of pedicures and facials!

Guess we should all assume that rich people are Alcoholics, have great skin and nails, and are never late to a meeting, right?

30 Grand on BOOZE! Thank you! Now I can justify my Glenfiddich expense! Still, this is the USA. If you can do it... then DO IT! Enron did.

Obviously, they are not Wal-Mart shoppers! LOL

Still, we should not develop a bad attitude about this kind of spending by the super-rich. These are the people who keep the doors open at a lot of businesses that are NOT Wal-Mart, and it pays a lot of rent and buys a lot of KFC for people downstream (you and me).

Don't have a bad attitude for these extremely lucky people. Some were born with money, some were born dirt poor. Wish I could waste money like this, but can't. I hope they are all aware of how blessed they are to not struggle financially everyday. However, just cause they have money does not mean they are all happy.

These are people who earned the money, right? Didn't steal it? So who cares what they do with it. It's theirs. It's the very wealthy that create jobs for the rest of us... especially the watch makers. :)

I guess I'd better go buy that lottery ticket.
If I had that kind of money, I would be helping my family and close friends.
