What a wild night of storms across North Texas last night!  And in some areas, there was a serious threat of tornadoes.

Unfortunately that threat was miles away from my home - and I, too, watched the wall-to-wall coverage of weather that interrupted one of my favorite shows: "House."

What's a TV station to do?  We cover an enormous area from the Red River ... almost to Waco and from East Texas to waaay west of Weatherford.

We've got to make a tough call on coverage.  We have to ask how many people are affected by the storm. In this case, it was a lot of people in Arlington, Mansfield and other heavily populated areas.

Was it relevant to me? Not this time. But next time, it might be. And if I have to miss the exciting conclusion of House, I'll get by.  Somehow I suspect the patient lived and that Dr. House is still a curmudgeon.  I'll catch it on the re-run.

If everyone had the same opinion we'd be called
"ROBOTS" !
If only weather stations were on TV, no one would be paying for it, trust me !

I'm glad that you are breaking into programming.

You are probably saving lives by giving updated weather reports. This gives families a chance to get their children home and safe before things really get dangerous.

My youngest daughter calls me when she is driving home from work and the weather is crazy. I have actually told her where the tornadoes were touching down before.

Just keep doing what you are doing. We can always catch re-runs or purchase a dvd set if we really love a program.

I'm in Mesquite, so the storms didn't effect me. I was watching House, waiting patiently for the end as it seemed a patient was actually not going to make it - which would be a first. Yea, I was kinda upset when the program got interuppted. However, I'll bet the people in White Settlement and Haltom City would've preferred to see the radar sooner. And, if I was in the path of the storm, a show that does re-runs would likely be the least of my concerns. In the end, it's just a show - but a good one!

Those houses are located on one of the most drastic cut-banks of Fossil Creek. First of all those houses should have never been built! Secondly, the homeowner should have done their homework and discovered that any sizable rain will cause any waterway to cut into the side on which they live, the cut-bank side. It is not necessarily the city's fault, or the government's fault. The developer should have never built those houses, but the homeowner is the one that is ultimately responsible for buying in a flood plain and on the cut-bank side. Buyer is the one that should have done the homework!!!!!!!!! DAH!!
