TexanInfidel's Blog

by TexanInfidel from Dallas county

Last Post 14 days, 9 hours Ago

I would like to see everyone read a blog series by Robert Spencer called "Blogging the Qur'an".  It is an incredibly informative and unbiased look at the Qur'an posted each Sunday on www.hotair.com.

The link directly to the archived blogs is:

Personally I am a Christian and I enjoy Robert Spencer's commentary and analysis of the Qur'an - which was written long after Christ walked the Earth.

Please let me know what you think!

What a perfect name for a website for right wing neocon bigots.

Now who's afraid of the truth? You can keep throwing your hateful language around. By the way, the "witch" you continually refer to me as is actually a picture of Hillary Clinton. Uneducated one.

I enjot Robert Spencer. I have his book, "The Politically Incorrect Guide (PIG) To Islam." It is a fantastic look inside the religion of peace. Wink. Wink.

Interesting site. What puzzles me is that the Quran, written centuries after the Old Testament, seems to piggyback it's history on the Old Testament. I know there are things in the Bible that were either miscommunicated or altered through the oral tradition and I wonder why people in Islam seem so willing to accept all the stories hook, line and sinker. Of course, Christians do that, too. While I understand the message of the Bible, there are also many allegories. That was and is part of the teaching tradition of the Middle East-creating stories to reinforced cultural concepts. I think the isolation that has been imposed on most Islamists cultures has created a vacuum of true scholarship-that is, the ability to examine and analyze. We do that now with the Pentatuch and the Apocryphal books of our Bible, but Islam seems intent on squelching any doubt through violence if necessary. So as a religion of peace, it fails. The difference between Islam and the other religions "of the Book" is that Islam doesn't accept the concept of freewill. It imposes morality at all costs. Christianity and Judaism promote morality, but make it the individual's choice to follow.

I also find it fascinating that Mohammed has taken Biblical concepts and turned them around - for instance: Jesus is called the "slave of Allah", not the son of God.

Also, and here is what gets me: you can treat non-believers any way you want - kill them, lie to them, trick them - and it is seen as the will of Allah. There is one chapter where Mohammed kills a child but that is okay because the child would never be a believer and therefore it was the will of Allah.

Scotty -- glad to know you like Robert Spencer!

Has anyone seen Fitna yet?

TruBlu, I beg to differ with you re the Bible. Copies dating from 110AD found in Qumran (Dead Sea) have confirmed that the books we have now are near duplicates save for minor grammatical errors.

In addition, the Bible needs to be discerned with regard to context. Is the passage hyperbole? Poetry? History? Allegory? Taken in the proper context the Bible is understandable and 100% accurate.

Contrast that with the Koran which contains factual error and no prophecy. The Bible is 1/3 prophecy.

Scotty you are correct. The predictions in the Bible to me trump all of the stories about Moses and little green men in the Koran.

I guess my question is - why would you serve a god that required you to kill or silence anyone who disagrees with you instead of reasoning with them or agreeing to disagree? Could it be because if the Koran is questioned it could be seen for what it is?

I'm locking my doors tonight.

TexasInfidel or whatever your name is, I am not afraid of the truth at all. You are the one who deletes factual evidence of President Bush, his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and how they are called "Merchants of Death". They, like you, masquarade as Christians too. I hate what you stand for, not what you are ma'am. You hate Muslims apparently. Christians have done their fair share of killing and maiming all in the name of "Allah" or "God too. You just hate Muslims, period. There are bad Christians, good Muslims, and vice versa. You are trying to spread your caustic hate around more than anyone I have read about on here. It is scary that people like you even exist and come across as "ordinary" people in society. Admit it, you are prejudiced, racist, bigoted, and if you had it your way, blacks would still be riding in the backs of buses and segregation would still be happening.

You are just like the website you put in this blog. HOT AIR.

As of the witch picture, it still fits you well. As does the racoon that is on your back in that other picture.

It's so sad that the mentally ill have access to computers. Obviously someone is suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome and off of their meds.

As for the infallability issue regarding the Bible, there are some historical parallels, that's true, but there are also some examples of hyperbole and allegory. Age of people in the Old Testament for example were largely conjecture because no accurate way to record time had been developed prior to the Assyrians, and most Bible scholars believe many of the stories are part of an oral narrative that predates this. And at some point, you have to believe that Jesus as the Son of God would couch information in a format that early people who were largely illiterate, would understand. That is why parables were created and I think many of the things cited were examples of ultimate faith. That's not to denigrate the sanctity of Jesus or the Bible, but to put it in context.

It is so sad there are hate mongers like you TexasTruBlu who lable people as "mentally ill" who don't agree with you. The facts are all there about the Bush family and their cronies but you won't have access to them on right wing blogs like this one.

You are the one who shouldn't own a computer or have access to the Internet to spew your hate or support of hate.

Hey, Flipnotic, did you hear that? It's nurse call and med time!

TruBlu, not one thing has EVER been disproven in the Bible - not a one. Moreover, you are correct in stating that hyperbole is used. Study the context.

As to the ages in the Bible, I don't dispute any of the text. When I or anyone starts choosing what to and not to believe it renders the entire book as conjecture and that is simply not the case.

If you read the Old Testament, you find that people lived to a ripe old age shortly after the "fall of man." Subsequently men and women began to age differently because of sin. Sin is death. Man was intended to live forever (and we all do live eternally - (it's just a matter of where), but God kept his promise to Adam and Eve and once they chose to partake of the forbidden fruit they started to die. Indeed, Satan told a half truth (which is always a lie) when he questioned God's statement that they would die. They didn't die iummediately but rather began to die physically while dying spiritually.

As for Islam, they are not the children of promise as they are not the children of Abraham. Notice that God's children are of the Abrahamic linage. Too, Islam is of works whereas Christianity is of faith. No one can merit salvation by works but rather is made righteous by the blood of Christ by faith alone in Christ alone.

Flipnotic - you have tremendous freedom to post entire articles you call "facts" on YOUR blog. I see you posted one about men in tight pants already. However, if you keep posting your hate speech on my blog I will keep deleting it.

Scotty and TruBlu - thanks for the input. I find that Satan's half truths often come out of the mouths of people - and if you call them on it they will spew forth exorcist-green filth.

Tex-I am sorry that people use your blog for their own purposes. It's maddening. And it's also strange that the one person thought I was discussing him, because I didn't mention any names. One point though Scottie-there is still some debate about the Apocryphal books. And they were dated around the same time. The Gospels were dated as late as 400AD, which means that unless someone had an original and copied it, there was probably some editing involved. I am not saying it is lies or half-truths, I am just saying that there is probably a reason that everything wasn't revealed. Something along the lines of "you can't handle the truth," probably.

TexanInfidel, stop taking hullucinogenic drugs because you will find no blog from me about "men in tight pants".

What you deleted was not hate speech at all and you know that. You people spout God and the Bible yet you also spout hatred of people with other belief systems.

You are hideous and vile people. Say what you want about me. Tell me I'm on drugs and that I'm gay or whatever. Everyday I wake up I thank my higher power whom I call God for the gift I have been given and I have seen miracles in my life and in others. I know the truth and I know what God wants from us and it isn't found anywhere on your blogs TexanInfidel.

I love all of you regardless.

I deleted annoying speech. And you did blog about cyclist (men in tight pants) in Austin. I was twisting your meaning like you twist mine.

I have seen no one spewing hatred but you. One thing we do have in common is the miracles in my life aren't in blogs. It is generally a great place to talk politics as you can't talk them in the office anymore because people are so grumpy they will tell HR. For instance, for our charity one year at Christmas we did one where you send stockings to deployed soldiers. The 1 Muslim in the office said we were being prejudiced against Islam by saying Merry Christmas. Of course, this is the same person that when we get a free lunch he shouts from the rooftops that he can't eat it because the ham is on the same plate as the turkey.

Still - I'm not entirely sure you aren't AlGore. But I'm glad you feel that you can sprinkle my blogs with your opinions without fear of the secret police beating down your door.
