So the hippies don't want coal plants.  They don't want us to drill for oil.  They don't want oil refineries.  They don't want nuclear power.  They don't want us to drive cars.  They want us all to survive from the powers of mother Earth.  Sun, Wind, Water...  Oregon has spent ridiculous amounts of money installing wind turbines to do away with all the pollution that is causing this whole "global warming" thing.

But what happens... WHEN WIND TURBINES ATTACK!

Wind whips up health fears Hundreds of giant turbines in the Oregon desert will bring power, but residents nearby raise concerns about health effects and an end to their quiet way of life Sunday, August 10, 2008 RICHARD COCKLE The Oregonian Staff

BOARDMAN -- Sherry Eaton pulled into the driveway of her rural, high-desert home to see one of several giant wind turbines being assembled a half-mile away.

"I started to cry," Eaton, 57, recalled of her first sight of the Willow Creek Wind Project in late July. "They're going to be hanging over the back of our house, and now there's the medical thing."

"The medical thing" is new research suggesting that living close to wind turbines, as Eaton and her 60-year old husband, Mike, soon will be doing, can cause sleep disorders, difficulty with equilibrium, headaches, childhood "night terrors" and other health problems.

With all the wind generators already in use in this country, this has never came up. There are people in Palm Desert,Ca.that have lived next to the wind farm for years.I have never heard of any of these health problems. It doesn't matter what is thought up,some wacko will find a reason not to use it.

"Let's be real about the limitations and costs of wind power: Experience demonstrates the unreliability of wind and the miserably low operating capacity of wind-power facilities here and around the world. Depending on wind requires supplemental fossil-fuel plants as backup to be turned on and off to compensate for wind-power-supply shortfalls - nullifying any reductions in carbon-dioxide emissions." Michele Malkin / New York Post

The so called 'wind power' is no solution, no answer, no good. It's another liberal hoax to force American into the dark ages with the rest of the socialist world.
I have a blog, tex, which connect Pelosi TO "BIG wind"... she financially gains from this ridiculous idea. Guess we'll all be forced to wear wind beanies, in time?

p.s. PETA doesn't like them - birds fly into them and DIE.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't - seems to fit the bill !

I hear they are trying to come with 'squirrel cage' type wind turbins that will tone down the noise levels, but they are a long ways away !

Our energy crisis is a mess for everyone !

I used to think that majority rules, democracy, why are the few getting the attention? 75% of americans want to drill for oil, we want nuclear energy adn solar etc..alternatives, hey I am all for that, but in the here and now its what the majority wants, not this group or that group, wind causing medical problems, give me a break

Majority no longer rules - special interest groups now rule. The squeaky wheel gets greased while the rest of us suffer.

the Northwest has the cheapest power in the country supplied by hydrooelectric power, the only reason they are building wind farms, is to syphon off more ofthe cheap power of the Northwest to send to California, cuz Cal doesn't have many of the benefits in power of other areas, the citizens of the northwest, are paying more for electricity, becuz of this program , Myself I don't think that is quite fair , but that is the programthe Snake and Columbia rivers have huge daams that have provided all this power since the '40's and they contiued to build more dams right up to the '80's

I want to know how those things will run my car. Or do I need to build a sail? BTW, those turbines won't pass clearance where Pickens wants them because PETA will block him legally. It's a major migratory flyway. So I guess it's the environmentalists against themselves, unless because it's presented by a liberal that makes wanton slaughter of migratory fowl okay.

Dak-you do realize that there are many in the green movement who not only don't want more dams built, but who want the existing ones destroyed? They simply don't want anything other than magic. It's like dealing with a bunch of ten year olds.

Well, if bil has never heard of these problems associated with wind turbines, this story must be a hoax.

Sounds like a giant hoax to me! *obligatory eye roll*

Well, since those in California have been there for I know over thirty years, don't you think someone would have complained by now?

Californians are so doped up they wouldn't know if they were sick.

KIDDING! maybe a little...

LOL TI.

http://www.windaction.org/documents/15412

This document authored by Acoustic Ecology Institute provides a comprehensive overview of noise issues pertaining to utility-scale wind energy development. This AEI Special Report will be continually updated, incorporating new research, more recent reports, and suggestions/comments from readers. Planned topics to be added over time include: effects of noise on wildlife and habitat, offshore wind energy, and the health effects of chronic noise exposure.

One of hundreds hits on the nuisance of wind farms in communities. Yes including California. There are several sites put out by the wind farm compannies and a site by a fanatical pro green religion/organization downplaying the complaints.

Thanks for the research, nerd. No seriously, I appreciate research instead of platitudes.

I love that you misspelled compannies. It makes me laugh at your face! BAHAHAH!

Your kids are cute.

I didn't MISSPELL it you dork, the "n" key messed it up.

*rolls eyes and sneers*

Bil said he's nnever heard of even one person complaining of the noise of wind turbines in California. Had to disprove such an obvious racist statement.

I know what you were doing. Just calling you a nerd for doing research instead of ranting incoherently like most bloggers.

But you TOTALLY misspelled.
