Here is a great piece by David Freddoso summarizing Barack's inaction and/or rejection of bills designed to protect the most innocent among us.

I honestly don't understand the following:

1) how anyone could consider abortion anything other than murder

2) how anyone could vote for a man who votes to allow abortion survivors to be killed when they are capable of surviving

Life Lies
Barack Obama and Born-Alive.

By David Freddoso

In 2001, Senator Barack Obama was the only member of the Illinois senate to speak against a bill that would have recognized premature abortion survivors as “persons.” The bill was in response to a Chicago-area hospital that was leaving such babies to die. Obama voted “present” on the bill after denouncing it. It passed the state Senate but died in a state house committee.

In 2003, a similar bill came before Obama’s health committee. He voted against it. But this time, the legislation was slightly different. This latter version was identical to the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which by then had already passed the U.S. Senate unanimously (with a hearty endorsement even from abortion advocate Sen. Barbara Boxer) and had been signed into law by President Bush.

Sen. Obama is currently misleading people about what he voted against, specifically claiming that the bill he voted against in his committee lacked “neutrality” language on Roe v. Wade. The bill did contain this language. He even participated in the unanimous vote to put it in.

Obama’s work against the bill to protect premature babies represents one of two times in his political career, along with his speech against the Iraq war, that he really stuck out his neck for something that might hurt him politically. Unlike his Iraq speech, Obama is deeply embarrassed about this one — so embarrassed that he is offering a demonstrable falsehood in explanation for his actions. Fortunately, the documents showing the truth are now available.

At the end of last week, Obama gave an interview to CBN’s David Brody in which he repeated the false claim that the born-alive bills he worked, spoke, and voted against on this topic between 2001 and 2003 would have negatively affected Roe v. Wade. This has always been untrue, but, until last week, it appeared to be a debatable point that depended on one’s interpretation of the bill language. Every single version of the bill was neutral on Roe. Each one affected only babies already born, not ones in the womb.

But in 2003, in the health committee which he chaired, Obama voted against a version of the bill that contained the specific “neutrality” language — redundant language affirming that the bill only applied to infants already born and granted no rights to the unborn. You can visit the Illinois legislature’s website
here to see the language of the “Senate Amendment 1,” which was added in a unanimous 10-0 vote in the committee before Obama helped kill it. This is the so-called “neutrality clause” on Roe that everyone is talking about:

1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1082

2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1082 on page 1, by

3 replacing lines 24 through 26 with the following:

4 “(c) Nothing in this Section shall be construed to

5 affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal

6 right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens at

7 any point prior to being born alive as defined in this

8 Section.”.

The addition of this amendment made the bill identical to the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act.
This Committee Action Report, dug up in Springfield by the National Right to Life Committee and revealed last week, shows two different votes. In the left column, under the heading “DP#1”(or “Do Pass” Amendment 1), we see that Obama’s committee voted 10-0 to add this neutrality language to the bill. In the right column, we see that the committee then voted 6-4 to kill the bill. Obama was among the six “No” votes.

Mark Twain had some great (and common sensical) sayings. Then there's the "what a tangled web we weave" bit.

He's the typical lefty liberal... they can NOT for human life, but only in protecting fishes and polar bears. They're thinking is backasswards. You have to remember he's also a marxist.

Oh I remember, chard. They value personal convenience over human life.

That way, the "boys can play without consequences". But it was AMAZING that the great Obam couldn't even begin to define HUMAN LIFE... and he wants to be president????

Major err, major jerk, major nazi.

You know, having a baby is NEVER convenient. It NEVER works out on paper. At least for us normal folks that don't make 7 figures.. The thought that they are "punishment" or "inconvenient" to the point you are willing to murder them is just sick.

Obam SAID, he didn't want HIS daughter "BURDENED" with an unwanted child... such discourse that brings up. Mr. O. TEACH your kids morals then, which btw, includes saying NO before marriage and respecting human life; God given life.
Most ppl struggle financially to raise their children to the best of their ability.. doing without to send them to good schools, taking them to a good church (NOT Rev. Wrights),etc. But Obam can't even say, when HE thinks they deserve to be called "human"! 2 years? 15 yr, Obam?
God says it's at conception.... and yet he, the church goer, believes the unborn and the unborn but NOT WANTED are trash to be disposed of.

I don't care what the courts say, abortion is and always has been murder.

Obama claims to be a Christian. I'd suggest rather than read whatever it is he is known to read, that he put that down and pick up that dusty tome called the Bible.

Here are a couple of verses for Obama supporters and those who support abortion.

Psalm 139:13-16

Jeremiah 1:5

Of course it's murder, but some of these Supreme Judges have placed themselves ABOVE God by their decisions.
Personally, I don't know how any 'Christian' could stand by abortion views - enough said. Nor would they care about, or understand, any Bible verses. They only REPEAT onces they think they can twist to make some invalid point.

Because I know some are too lazy to look, Psalm 139:

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Jeremiah 1: 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Yep that actually sounds like your life was determined before conception. So I am changing my view from "Life begins at conception" to "life begins before conception".

Wonder where the liberals are on this topic?

mamatat read my blog view my photos

First off, I'll state that I'm not a liberal: I think Dems have scr**ed over Social Security, jacked with immigration laws beyond belief and need to clamp down and require participants in "entitlement" programs to show that they're ready to "entitle" themselves by working, getting educated and not taking advantage of the system. I also support stem-cell study from aborted fetal tissue (I mean, it's in come vaccines, so it's being used by science already) and am pro-choice under any circumstance, up to 20 weeks unless the mom or child would die via birth.

How exactly, does one have a "premature abortion?" The law states that I have the right to believe that when a child is naturally born and breathes (or would be able to breathe) on its own, then it is alive. And I do believe that.

You anti-choice folks just confuse me: it's okay to pump hundreds of thousands of dollars into saving an "abortion survivors" life, yet there's no big rush to either foster or adopt older children, kids of color, or special needs kids in the state system. So I find it hard to believe anyone who says they are "pro life" when they refuse to support the lives of children already here by helping care for the "unwanted" and mistreated kids who inundate our foster system.

And why is it "okay" to save an "innocent" child, yet it's perfectly fine to kill a person who has become "reborn" while on Death Row? That's hypocritical.

Regarding the last paragraph - anyone who is truly "reborn" while on death row recognizes that they still have to pay for their mistakes. A baby has done nothing to be condemned for.

And as for the foster systems - you have no idea what you are talking about. You have no idea where we pro-lifers donate our money. You have no idea how many folks who can't have kids of their own adopt kids - regardless of color. We have multiple Chinese children in my extended family - we're not Chinese. Did you watch Nashville Star this year? There was a 'redneck' family who had like 4 black kids along with their multiple white children. Just a couple of examples.

Mamatat, I have read numerous blogs from you and madam, you are definitely liberal.

As far as abortion at any juncture, it is murder. You defend it, I'll rebut it, agreed?

What do you know about what I support overseas? Moreover, as a taxpayer (like you), we all support programs that benefit children, even in countries that are stabbing us in the back as we speak.

It is Biblically sound to execute people. Your argument is with the Creator, not us mere mortals who didn't pen the directives.
