Asleep at the Wheel

I keep hearing these words from the presidential candidates: "My Plan"

As far as I know, none of them have actually unveiled any real plans. Just simple platitudes- tax the rich, fix health care, save the middle class... yada yada yada.

As I recall, the Kerry campaign did exactly the same thing. Talked about his plan, but never revealed it.

So here is the thing. The thing I simply don't get. Where is the plan? Where can I read it? Is it on the internet? What are the details? How will it work? What is the upside, and the downside?

I mean, are we really going to elect someone President of the United States based on an empty promise of "my plan"? Because I simply don't believe there is a plan, beyond those platitudes.

Oh, and one more thing. Kerry, Clinton, and Obama all have one thing in common. they all CURRENTLY belong to a very exclusive club. Each is one of fifty to hold the title of United States Senator. Let us not forget that is the exclusive territory of the House and Senate to actually write, introduce and vote on LEGISLATION (a plan). That is to say, they can introduce THEIR PLAN any frickin day they want, and it is their duty to do so. We even pay them now (and forever) to do just that- give us a plan.

And if any of them actually have a plan, and it is half as great as they say, and as we are led to believe, I am sure the House and Senate would be happy to pass it, and I am sure any President would be glad to sign such brilliance into law.

Remember this- Presidents are not elected to write, introduce or vote on legislation. So Senators, why are you holding back? Why are you shortchanging the American people?

Why do you hold us hostage, saying: "elect me and I will show you my plan"?

We already did our part- when we elected you to the Senate.

"platitudes" - that's all it's been, I assume, because many of the voting public are so sadly ill-informed that they're just looking for what 'sounds nice'. It's called ignorance - and we've seen more this season than ever before. The Obama 'phenomena' is so ridiculous, it must be much like the German's who rallied around Hitler...and all his "platitudes".

Democrats bumper sticker - "Elect me and I'll give you stuff".
McC - "Elect me - I'm almost a democrat".

Not much to choose from.

For once Chard - I sort of agree with you-- way back in 2000 - there were those of us warning America that Bush was the wrong guy (being borderline incompetent) and frankly dangerous....but American's just wanted to "feel good" - so Bushy/Rove pandered and offered platitudes and the yokels bought it ...and now (sadly) we have to say "told you so"

Bush was the best of the lot for the R's and Al Gore, well, he's still an ego-disaster. Bush was right to fight back against terrorist which Clinton didn't do, and I have my doubts as to what Gore would have done. You can't negotiate with the insane, but you can't tell that to liberals.
I wouldn't resend my vote for Bush, but McC turned his back on conservatives and screwed himself. R's chose the wrong candidate.

Obama is an educated idiot, hell bent on socialism and completely incompetent.
Hillary is a full fledge socialist, which is always dangerous.
This is what the ignorant of the country want - 'pretty words' that have no meaning; swooning over the 'platitudes' of fools. Should be interesting.

We were talking about this yesterday, it's so funny how Obama has a plan for everything, even makes it sound like he knows what the avg. man is going thru. He never reveals a plan tho. I think by the mere fact that "he understands" will get some idiots to vote for him
