I keep hearing these words from the presidential candidates: "My Plan"
As far as I know, none of them have actually unveiled any real plans. Just simple platitudes- tax the rich, fix health care, save the middle class... yada yada yada.
As I recall, the Kerry campaign did exactly the same thing. Talked about his plan, but never revealed it.
So here is the thing. The thing I simply don't get. Where is the plan? Where can I read it? Is it on the internet? What are the details? How will it work? What is the upside, and the downside?
I mean, are we really going to elect someone President of the United States based on an empty promise of "my plan"? Because I simply don't believe there is a plan, beyond those platitudes.
Oh, and one more thing. Kerry, Clinton, and Obama all have one thing in common. they all CURRENTLY belong to a very exclusive club. Each is one of fifty to hold the title of United States Senator. Let us not forget that is the exclusive territory of the House and Senate to actually write, introduce and vote on LEGISLATION (a plan). That is to say, they can introduce THEIR PLAN any frickin day they want, and it is their duty to do so. We even pay them now (and forever) to do just that- give us a plan.
And if any of them actually have a plan, and it is half as great as they say, and as we are led to believe, I am sure the House and Senate would be happy to pass it, and I am sure any President would be glad to sign such brilliance into law.
Remember this- Presidents are not elected to write, introduce or vote on legislation. So Senators, why are you holding back? Why are you shortchanging the American people?
Why do you hold us hostage, saying: "elect me and I will show you my plan"?
We already did our part- when we elected you to the Senate.
