Is it just me or is Jerry Jones starting to look alot like Mr. Burns from The Simpsons? Change the stadium into t nuclear power plant and you have a pretty close resemblance. Now who is Homer?

Jerry Jones is a scam meister. He has millions and could have built a self-named monument with change to spare. But instead he sells Arlington voters on a way to build it using THEIR money and THEIR land, using immenent domain to takeover land that belonged to others. He could have been a hero and rebuilt the Cotton Bowl. He could have been a hero and rebuilt the eyesore that Texas Stadium has become. Instead he sold folks on the idea that this overblown basilca will generate revenue. Sure, once every ten years you may get a Super Bowl, or a Play off game, or perhaps the Texas-OU game since nobody is interested in real tradition. But that's a long time between payoffs, and hey, have you seen a whole lot of activity going on around the Ballpark? I didn't think so. Plus, they moved so far away from a major fan base with money, that you won't see quite so many folks from Plano and Frisco and points northeast at the games. Plus without a decent mass transit situation or the highway infrastructure to handle this traffic nightmare, it will take so long to get there and so long to get back that people simply won't want to bother. How do you like them apples?

Well this will eventually surface and once it does, watch out. What I found especially funny is the idiot Mayor of Arlington is so wrapped by Jerry Jones that it'd take a case of WD-40 to loosen him up to seeing what Jerry Jones has done to Arlington. Plus, the voters who voted for this were coerced into voting for it. They should have said "NO WAY! But instead they voted for it and now are screaming cause they know they made a huge mistake. Sorry, folks but the damage has already been done. I'd call for an impeachment of the Mayor of Arlington if I were living there.

Well, I have to agree wholeheartedly with all the opinions expressed so far. TruBlu and Manic, you nailed it!

Incidentally, I think the Texas legislature needs to submit a Constitutional amendment prohibiting eminent domain from being invoked in obvious private-public ventures like this boondoggle.

I keep wondering what the heck Jones offered Cluck for his undying devotion. Maybe he's making him the team doctor after his job as mayor ends. I don't know, but the mayor definitely used his bully pulpit to sell his citizens a bill of goods.

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
