Here's a link that shows the map with all the Starbucks that are closing. Please note that most of them in our immediate area are in north Dallas. If you must have a Grande Carmel Macchiatto to make it through the day, Plan accordingly.

I'm kinda in the same boat as bil, tho i have been a couple times. I just have so much better things to do than buy overpriced and over caloried coffee. hate to see them go under...it shows the economy is hurting more than just ppl like me

I used to drink a grande caramel macchiatto each morning before I had a job >:(

Those things are $5/pop now.

I don't care for their coffee, but I do get a passion tea/lemonade when I meet my friends once a week to have a confab.

Terrell: You know if you think about there are lots of things that we did without twenty years ago that people seem to think they "need" now. Does your nine year old "need" a cell phone? Probably not. Does your family "need" to fly to a theme park every holiday? Probably not. Those things are nice, don't get me wrong, but they used to be more special than they are now. It's like when I was a kid, Saturdays were hamburger days cooked by my Dad. I was allowed ONE Dr. Pepper-the ones in the small glass bottles. That was it. Now kids drink soda, eat cookies, have sex, make babies and it's all taken in as normal. I guess it's what you would call the "new normal." Or what someone would call that....

TTB, my 9 yr old thinks she needs a cell phone but since i dont tend to see that same need for her...she doesn't have one. lol

i remember those 1 cola a saturday times. at our home we didn't have snack food laying around or even chips...we had chips only if we were grilling burgers and stuff. we ate from a huge vegetable garden...he still has one and it's just as great as ever.

Terrell: You know, if they have a cell phone, they have the internet. And I predicted we would see a whole new breed of nastiness when they put cameras on cell phones. My kids didn't have them until they were driving and working. The problem is that school districts don't like kids using school phones to call home and pay phones are virtually non-existant. I think every school should have a pay phone. But the elementary and middle school kids with phones are just headed for trouble.

I love Starbucks Carmel Macchiatto too - my favorite, although I don't buy that often 'cause they are so darned expensive. I usually only get one when someone has given me a gift certificate for such. I hope the one near me doesn't go under 'cause I just got a gift certificate from my boss (hope that isn't a bad message) Tehehehe!

Hiya TM - how ya' doin'?

I'm sure the employees who get health insurance (privately, even!) for only working 20 hours a week don't feel that way.

I'm willing to bet you rail against both big corporate giants and those folks without insurace who seek government assistance.

My time toiling for Starbucks saved me from having to go on the dole during a divorce. It paid the bills for this mom of three.

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
