Last night my brother's house was broken into. 3 black males kicked in the front door with guns in hand around 1:15 am. My brother tried to fight back because his kids were in his room that they went into. They all hit him with the guns and finally my brother let them just take what they wanted so they could leave. This all happened in a matter of minutes and while his home alarm is going off! My brother let the people over the intercom (alarm system) that he was robbed. Of course any one with information we would love to know about but I am not writing this just for info on them. I'm writing this because there is a major problem in Dallas.
In and around the Burton and Masters area in Pleasant Grove there has been several homes broken into. 6 that I have heard of in the last month. Some have been during the day and some at night. My brother's home is the first one that I know of that was a home invasion. But I just don't understand why there has not been an increase of patrol officers in the area! I have seen them patrol during the day and some routine traffic stops but what about at night too!?
Like I said my brother has an alarm system (ADT) and they seemed to do their job by calling authorities. MY brother called my house after that. I rushed there as soon as I could. I would say about 5 minutes later. And to my surprise I see no Cops! So i think that they are right behind. I was wrong! The ambulance got there soon after but no Cops. They get done checking him out and finally the Cops arrive about 20 to 30 minutes after everything has happened.
I in no way see how this is acceptable! What is the point of having an alarm system if no one is going to show up for 20 minutes? The Dallas PD response time is SAD! This is just one horror story and I'm sure there are many like this out there. This is major issue that needs to be addressed by the city of Dallas.
Mr. Mayor, I have lost my trust in this city's PD. What will you do to gain it back? Show me, don't just talk about it.
