They say Friday the thirteenth is an unlucky day. Now, you guys know that TheReb doesn't believe in God, Satan, heaven, hell, that sort of BLEEP, right? Well, I certainly have never believed in bad luck days. That is, until I heard about the death of Tim Russert, the renowned journalist and hip moderator of my favorite Sunday newscast 'Meet The Press' dying this morning of a heart attack. Now, I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps there is such a thing as bad luck. After all, this was a man in his prime with a career as great as his reporting, and one of the best damn moderators out there. It certainly was an unlucky day for us, no doubt. 'Meet The Press' was the only reason I got up on Sunday mornings, having given up Church long ago. Hell, it was the only reason any of us got up here, okay? I even had my clock set to go off five minutes before the show. I do need time to roll a few joints, you know. It goes good with that first cup of coffee, alright? It also goes good with 'Meet The Press', and that is due Tim Russert. Upfront and brutally honest, he wasn't afraid to show every side of an argument, regardless the subject. He ran his show exactly the way a show of it's caliber should be ran, and he always gave everyone a fair shake. However, he was quick to make known his displeasure at things that affected him, never afraid to show his support for a certain cause or individual. Always quick at playing the role of "devil's advocate", he always gave his audience something to talk about, and delivered some hilarious skits in the process. True to form, he ruled over his roundtable like a true king, and finding a replacement will be the most difficult job NBC will ever face. Now, ask me if I believe in Friday the thirteenth and I'll say, "Yeah, June 13, 2008 was one hell of an unlucky day, unlucky day indeed. R.I.P. Tim Russert. You will be missed!
