Today was my last day on Fox 4. It's sad because I was almost halfway as good as Chip doing traffic. I have had so many people say so many nice things that it's going to be hard getting my huge head to fit in the car this morning after Good Day. I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with than the folks at Good Day. Behind the scenes and in front of camera, everybody has been wonderful and I will miss being here. Thank you for being so kind and tolerable to my corny humor early in the morning. And thank you to everyone who encouraged me in my traffic career. Hey there- I am going to drop this blog in the entertainment section since it has nothing to do with traffic. About a month ago, I was able to "perform" in the new Terminator series, the Sarah Conner Chronicles. When the
show
debuted, the folks at FOX corporate were providing a rolling mobile
studio where people could get digitally inserted into the show.

So coming this Monday morning, the new HOV lanes on I-30 from Mesquite (Northwest Drive) are scheduled to be open. And the HOV Lanes on 75 Central running from Plano down to LBJ are supposed to be active next Friday. I hate to be a pessimist but I will believe when my eyes when I see car-poolers heading down I-30 at 6am. Everybody be careful on the roads this weekend!

Chopper Chip is on vacation this week and while we wait for a new helicopter, it will be a "traffic team" of one as I anchor the traffic desk solo until Wednesday. I talked to Chip in the hospital and he’s a little sore but doing fine.
Julie cut her head and has some minor injuries. I believe the pilot is

Well I am off to NY NY for a couple of days and so I thought I would see if anybody had any recommendations for a cool restaurant that I should try out. As far as the traffic goes, I don't expect too many problems since I will be WALKING everywhere.

I am getting the impression that there is not a lot of love for my pink shirt today. Should I banish it back to my closet? I am on vacation next week so I will see what other color shirts I can pick up. Look for lighter than normal traffic starting on Monday with most of the schools in DFW off for spring break and many families taking vacation.

Since my previous broadcast experience is on Radio, I don't have any old TV News/Traffic video to show anybody. But that doesn't mean I don't have any embarrassing video in my past. Back in high school, my friends and I made amovie for a Senior Project in English.

I had a great time last weekend at the Stockshow in FW singing the Good Day song with Fox 4 viewers- thank you to everyone who stopped by.
Now, I was planning to come out to Ridgmar Mall this Saturday from 1 to 3pm but I forgot about another event that I had to be at so I can't make it this weekend. Good luck if you decide to come out and sing and remember, as Randy says, "Make it your own, dog!"

Good Morning! Welcome to the Winter Wonderland that is Dallas/Ft Worth! Snow coming down and we already have several accidents across the Metroplex. This is one of those mornings where you need to plan to be late...Just got word that 75 at the Bush turnpike will be shut down. Be careful out there.

As the temps begin to fall and with so much water already on the roads, there will definitely be icy spots across the Dallas-Ft Worth area. Bridges and overpasses are especially susceptible and some of the major ones include:
• North Loop 820 at I-35 in FW
• NE Loop 820 at 121/183 in Hurst
• WB Hwy. 183 ramp to SB Hwy. 360 near DFW
• NB Hwy. 121 to 635 in Grapevine
• The High Five- Hwy. 75 at 635 LBJ in Dallas
• I-20 at I-35 and I-20 at I-45 in Dallas
• Bush Turnpike at 75 in Richardson/Plano
I know there are plenty more and so feel free to add to this list if you come across a bad spot. Stay safe and buckle up!

Just a quick note to let you know that I did not enjoy the "Holiday Blizzard of 06" in Denver. My family and I got stranded this past week on Wednesday when our flight back home was canceled because of the snow. We ended up driving our rented 4-wheel drive Trailblazer all the way back to Dallas and after a 14 hour non-stop drive, we made it home safely.
Here's hoping your holidays are less stressful and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Just wanted to say "Great Job" to my buddy Chip who ended up staying at the station for over 11 hours yesterday broadcasting traffic updates! Way to go Chip! You are a total pro!
