I just saw a Channel 8 piece on a parent that backed over his own kid in the driveway that resulted in the kids death.

After a few "tests" involving volunteer parents, the reporter clearly showed that just looking in the mirrors before backing won't give the driver a view of the blindspot area immediately behind a vehicle. In some vehicles, the driver looking in the rearview mirror, is unable to see a traffic cone at a distance of 30 FEET!

As I was watching this report, I thought surely the lesson was to actually LOOK behind the vehicle before getting in the drivers seat.

But no.

Please don't tell me, a lawsuit?

Yes, some lawyer got a hold of this one and is actually sueing Nissan for not having closed circuit TV cameras mounted in the bumper of ALL vehicles Nissan makes, as well as a video on the dash.

Even after Nissan (and common sense) suggested that a look-see behind a vehicle would go a long way in avoiding this type of accident, the mother, visibly upset, said that Nissan's suggestion was sending the wrong message!

The lawyer, obviously long soaked in liberal ether, even suggested that some sort of conspiracy was involved!

The reporter didn't even blink.

Instead he floated some "estimate" that said 500 kids are flattened each year by parents that have been "mislead" by "Big Auto".

That's 9.6 cases per week of involuntary manslaughter in my book!

The victim/bias continues...

Yet another case of someone not taking responsibility for their own actions!

I will assume this parent has driven said vehicle before and knew there are certain areas that you can not see if anything is near. (Blind spot)

I assume this parent was fully aware that there were no cameras or monitors installed on said vehicle before purchasing or backing up?

I assume the parent backing said vehicle knew his/her child was in the area before backing and could not see said child but backed up anyway?

So where is the law suit?

I WANT TO BE ON THE JURY!!!!!!!!!

Where was the Mother when the Dad was backing up? Why is there no control over these fatalities?

They don't have control over themselves can't expect them to have control over anything else.

Just another act of wanting to put the blame on someone else and see how much money they can get doing it !!! Isn't it common sense to look for your kids before you leave in your car ??? Kids are quick on their feet. I feel sad that another innocent child has to pay the price for a grown adult who it too busy with what their day is, to check on them and make sure they are where they are suppose to be.. May God have mercy on them..

Of course we all know that the automobile manufacturer is totall responsible for the death!

Afterall, they "knew or should have known" that the operator was going to back up. They "knew or should have known" that a child might be behind the vehicle. They "knew or should have known" that removing reverse and neutral from the transmission would have prevented this death.

A classic case of manufacturer's design flaw, worthy of a several million dollar claim, in hopes of receiving a one million dollar settlement. And they'll probably get it, too!

Anyone who has more money than you, should be sued. That the Democrat way... ain't that the way it works? NO one should be held personally responsible, it's always someone else's fault.
One reason I support 'big business'... everyone wants to sue them for something.

Let's say those same parents take their remaining children to the Grand Canyon.....and one of them falls over the side.

Are they going to blame/sue God for putting this big ole hole in the Earth? Or will they blame/sue the state for not putting a tall fence all the way around the big ole hole?

WAKE UP PARENTS !!!! WATCH YOUR KIDS!!!

Don't tell me you can't know where they are every minute. You da$n sure can.

Yes......Uh, Judge, I would like for you to award me the pearly gates, streets of gold, and mansions just over the hill top. It's all God's fault.

Thank GOD this guy doesn't drive an 18 wheeler. Some of them have a blind spot in front of them as large as the blind spot behind his car. The man has my sympathy, he will have to live with what HE did for the rest of his life.

I was told by one of our clients today that has a car with the cameras on it and he said it warns in the paperwork that comes with the car to not use them for backing up, so it will be interesting to see what comes of this.

Exactly, and what if the lens gets dirty or the the reflections cause a washout?
Before you know it the carmakers will have to install military grade cameras!
Jeez, this sooo ridiculous.

Can you believe how utterly silly lengths ppl will go to avoid taking responsibilities for their own actions!
Things I would like to ask!
1) Hey Dad? Did you even know your child was outside?
2) Did you forget "Drivers Ed 101" always survey your surroundings and the car to make sure all is well?
3) Chard did you see that Lee was using spanish in his reponse on this post...naughty Lee.
4) Anyone else tired of parents harming their kids whether it be..left in a hot car, or giving them booze, or sharing their pot, or running them over??
Lets see, one more thing. I am not taking responsibility for what I post on this blog, the devil made me do it...Im gonna sue the little red horned beast!

This is really a thumbnail sketch of the lefts utopia.
Where gov't steps in and slays the dragon (corporations).

Buggsy? Darkramm?
This is where ya'll "step up" with Clintoonian propaganda.
Here, lemme help you-
