This is the year that my dreams come true!

These words from a beloved poem invite me to eagerly welcome the new year: "Wonderful, wonderful, fortunate you, This is the year that your dreams come true!"

This is the year that my dreams do come true as I am blessed with life-celebrating opportunities. Some at first may appear to be happenstance. Yet I know that they have come to me by divine appointment.

This is the year that expectations flow from my vision of good. I am an active participant in the joy-filled life of me!

This is the year that I move forward with zeal and
enthusiasm, giving and receiving, committing to purposeful, rewarding goals.

This is the year that brings happiness, a year that I will live to bless. Wonderful, wonderful, fortunate me, for this is the year that my dreams come true!

"Is anything too wonderful for the Lord?"--Genesis 18:14

I follow the light of the indwelling Christ, and I receive new insight and joy.

With great anticipation, the wise men from the East saw the star of Bethlehem and began to follow where it led, asking, "Where is the child?"

I think of the excitement and eagerness that must have filled them throughout their journey. Their curiosity may have only been exceeded by their yearning for spiritual discovery.

There is a light that guides me as well--the indwelling Christ. Turning inward in prayer, I connect with the Christ of my being.

With heartfelt anticipation, I receive and follow my inner spiritual guidance.

I look to the light within and gratefully receive insight. I give thanks for this inner light and the new revelations it brings.

"They set out; and there, ahead of them, went the star that they had seen at its rising, until it stopped over the place where the child was."--Matthew 2:9

Sharing love and joy with others is one of the greatest pleasures in life. A smile that shines with happiness is reason to feel good, whether I'm giving or receiving it.

Taking notice of the qualities of Spirit in every person I meet--expecting the best of each one--I enhance my own experiences of joy.
Goodness is not difficult to find. When I take a moment to notice, I discover it's all around.

Living my life with a positive outlook, I experience the fulfillment of my expectation of good and make progress in what is worthwhile to me. I am positive as I trust in the unifying spirit of God within  all creation.
Knowing I am one with Spirit and one with creation, I also know the joy that living this positive life brings to me.

"O Lord of hosts, happy is everyone who trusts in you."--Psalm 84:12

I joyfully experience the Christ and the sacredness of all creation.   Even before Jesus' birth, a divine plan was unfolding to prepare the way for Him and His ministry. The prelude to the Christmas story was the birth of John the Baptist, the one who would prepare the way. Like John, I prepare for the rebirth of love in my own heart and envision spiritual awareness growing throughout the world.   This first day of Advent, I turn within in prayer, aligning my mind, heart, and spirit with this holy season. Grateful for the joy of past experiences of Christmas and the serenity of releasing any sadness or regrets, I give my complete attention to the Christ nature within me and all people.   My spiritual practices pave the way for my ongoing realization of the Christ Presence and the sacredness of all creation.   "You will go before the Lord to prepare his ways."--Luke 1:76

Centering Prayer

In sweet surrender to God, I am abundantly blessed.

Withdrawing from apparent confusion or activity around me, I
take time for a centering prayer. My prayer is both an invocation and
an affirmation: In sweet surrender to God, I am abundantly blessed.

"God, here and now, fully in Your presence, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am one with You. I feel an infusion of strength and
understanding, and my faith is renewed. Thank You, God."

Lingering for a few moments in this sacred awareness, I raise my
thoughts and expectations to consider the unlimited possibilities that
are available to me. I have touched the sacred center within me, and
it will be easier for me to return to this awareness at any time, for
in prayer I am returning to the source of all good.

"Now during those days he went out to the mountain to pray; and he
spent the night in prayer to God."--Luke 6:12

With an attitude of gratitude, I say, "Thank You, God!"

Beginning each day with "Thank You, God," I set the tone for the entire day. Whether I am going to work, spending the day alone, or looking forward to a time of celebration with family or friends,
starting today with an attitude of gratitude reminds me that God is the source of all blessings.

If I should feel rushed to get things done or if I become impatient when things do not go as planned, I take a deep breath and say, "Thank You, God!" I know that God is present, bringing all together for good.

"Thank You, God" is my heartfelt gratitude that brings me back to an awareness of God. I am thankful for blessings large and small,
for the expected and unexpected ones, and for the special people in my life.

"And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."--Colossians 3:17

Child of God, I envision you as you are: blessed by the light and love of God.

Children playing in the sunshine take pleasure in the goodness of the day. Like flowers that raise their faces to the sun and delight in the nourishment of its rays, they embrace all that God is, just by being who they are. They express light, love, life, and peace, the very qualities that nourish them in body, mind, and spirit.

Today we reach out to the children of the world with thoughts of love and faith. As we enfold them in prayer, we bless them and see them cared for in kind and gentle ways. We celebrate their growth and development as we envision them attaining their full potential as beloved children of God.

Our prayers enfold every child on the planet in thoughts of wisdom, love, peace, security, and well-being.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs."--Luke 18:16

Throughout this divine-appointment day, I am God's love in expression.

As an instrument of God's love and goodwill on earth, I freely participate in the events of the day as they unfold. I accept each one as a divine appointment, a time of giving and receiving from God's love.

With my heart open to divine guidance, I know that love is my priority. Whether I am meeting a friend for lunch, caring for my family, or facing a difficult situation, God's love is my inspiration.
I reach out to others, establishing bonds of love and trust.

Grateful for the divine appointments in my life, I look forward to each one as an opportunity to learn of the wonder revealed in being God's love in expression.

"Then I said, 'Here I am; in the scroll of the book it is written of me. I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.'"--Psalm 40:7-8
