Hi Everybody! It always interesting to me to go through the Viewers Voice calls and emails to find out what's on your mind. Sometimes it takes me awhile to get through all the comments - because we get hundreds of calls/emails!! We have some folks who are regulars - Nathan, Naomi, Michael, Kathleen - always good to hear from them - but I want to know what's on your mind. So here's another chance to fill me in. Just watch the Viewer's Voice - and then tell me what you think about what *others think!!

This week - we got more comments about a woman breast feeding her baby at a public pool than anything else. It was split about 50-50 for those for and against. But whatever the opinion was, the comments were passionate. What do you think? And just for the record - the mother was covered up while she was breast feeding.

Keep on blogging about whatever is on your mind - and have a great weekend!!

I think breast feeding is great; I breast fed my children, however I NEVER did it in public. I'd go to the car or bathroom or has anyone heard of a BREAST PUMP?! I would pump before I'd go anywhere. I don't think I should have to explain to my 3, 5, and 7 year old children what's going on if they see a woman breast feeding. All mothers have their rights, but so do we, so they should compromise and not force us to watch if we don't want to.

I think breastfeeding is a beautiful natural part of life and as long as it is done modestly, as this mother did, then everyone needs to find something else to BLEEP about.

By the way, Heather Hays,I used to be accused of being snotty as well, and just don't worry about it. My doctor corrected my "snottiness" with Singulair and Flonase. I think you are a nice professional person.

Heather Hays - snotty? Nah that would mean impertinent or arrogant. She's refreshingly ironic. Adds some humorous bite to the Viewer's Voice.

Oh and just a comment on one of the stories. I like messy yards! I mean artistic free flowing yards, unbridled by convention and boundaries. Well okay messy, but I like 'em anyway. Shame on the "snotty" neighbors.

Hi ejmc - Thanks for weighing in! I have to admit, when I listened to the V.V. voicemails the night this story aired, I was surprised at the number of women who said, "Breast feed in private!" Guess I wasn't sure what I thought I would hear - but thanks for a mom's perspective!

Hi jlawr36 and nana4064n - Thanks for your support on the whole "snotty" thing! Hmm... flonase, huh? Maybe I will give it a shot!! :) I could run on and on... but I better pick a place to stop or things could get messy. UGH - too many not-so-subtle references!!

MY O MY! A Snotty Heather Hays - Don't think so! Maybe she is jealous of your beauty?

The lawn story - I like being different! It gives all those boring cookie cutter people something to gripe about and us who choose to live outside the box, something to laugh at!

If folks would take as much time minding their own business as they do other folks business we would have time for more fun with each other!

To the mother who said breastfeeding was great and breastfed all her kids, why wouldn't you explain it to a 3, 5 or 7 year old. It's natural!!! I would rather explain something like that then why some kid has their nose, eyebrow, or worse pierced or why the way some teenagers dress!! As long as she was covered up and not exposing anything, she has every right to breastfeed where ever she wants. If you don't want to look then don't!! I'm sure she wasn't forcing you to watch!! Hurray!! For the breastfeeding Moms!!! Keep it up!!

Hi Everyone - Me again. I just thought I should add a quick reminder of what we covered in this week's VV...

1. Breastfeeding in Public
2. Kinky vs. Grandma (aka Richard "Kinky" Friedman and Carole "Grandma" Keeton Strayhorn)
3. The appealing (or appalling?) eco-friendly frontyard
4. DNA freeing a wrongly convicted man after 20 years
5. A viewer who called me "snotty"!! (always gotta end with something fun!) :)

I am out of town for a week - see everyone when I get back. I look forward (I think!!) to your comments - on the comments!

Women have every right to breastfeed in public. I breastfed my 2 youngest daughters for 2 years a piece and was so upset when others requested I do it in the restroom. Would they eat their meal in the restroom? Why do they expect my child to do so then? Ridiculous. As long as they're discreet and not baring all, this shouldn't even be an issue. Some people need to get a life. Oh yeah, not looking is an option.

For all of those people who feel that breastfeeding in public is wrong, well you better start telling people who do not know how to properly eat while out in public to go someplace private as well. I do not want to watch someone chew their food, pick their teeth, or blow their noses. And if you say that is just ridiculous or to look away and I won't see it, well you can do the same if you see a mother breastfeeding her child in public. Keep in mind there will always be another way to look at something, so try that first before complaining....by the way are your kids perfect in puiblic? Think about how your kids are in public and has anyone ever asked you to keep them at home?

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the Viewer's Voice comment describing Heather Hays as "snotty." Why is that CONFIDENT women are many times misjudged & labeled? It was very ignorant to make such a rude statement about someone they do not know. Heather, you are a tremendous role model & keep up the great work!
