I just filled up my pick'm up.  I paid $100, and it would have been a little more, but the pump shut off at $100.  Thank goodness I got the gas for 3.199 ( Kroger price 3.29 - 10c discount).
After 600 miles when I fill up again, wonder how much it will be.

I'm telling you, it takes almost $60 to fill up my CHEVY LUMINA. Last week, it only took $50. Do you know why the government is doing this? NO DAMN GOOD REASON AT ALL. Sorry everyone. Its just greed.

As long as people buy gas, the prices will stay up.
Do You see the Govt. pushing electric cars? solar powered cars, Bio fuel?

No, and you're right, sis. Check this out, the more unhealthy the country is, the more polluted the country is, the less money given out, the happier the government is because that means more for them and less for us which they are blindly sending us into this "recession". Greed is a btch!

I'm betting $120...if the pump doesn't shut off again at $100! As for me, I'm in nived23's neck of the woods as far as fill-up costs are concerned and it doesn't look like it will get any better soon.

I have a small Kia Sportage, which takes 12 gallons. I DO NOT let it get to empty. I try to fill up when it reaches 1/2, instead of 1/4.

Someone told me to do the following to make your gas go farther:

1. Fill up first thing in the morning. The gasoline is denser and has less fumes, than if you fill up during the day.
2. When dispensing fuel, instead of opening the nozzel to full throttle, use the slowest setting on the pump. This minimizes the fumes going into and out of your tank, and you get more fuel in your tank.
3. Everyone should know about the tire inflation. Properly inflated tires help with fuel efficiency.
4. Go the speed limit, which uses less fuel. Faster speeds use more fuel.

By just fueling my car, in the mornings, and taking longer, I've increased my fuel efficiency by 3 miles per gallon.

It might work for some of you, as well. Give it a shot. Doesn't hurt.

Good tips from Klutzy but let me explain what proper tire pressure realy is for those who don't know. You can not go by the manufacture's numbers on the door. That is there for ride comfort and no other reason. If you let the shop put 32-35 p.s.i. in your tires, you are losing gas mileage. You need to read the sidewall of youe tire and put at least 80% of the recomended maximum pressure in order to acheive good results. Most tires are rated 44 p.s.i. these days so I usually fill to 40 p.s.i. I am riding on 51 p.s.i. tires right now so I fill them to 45 p.s.i. If you use any less, you are losing about 1-2 m.p.g. and reducing tire life significantly.

There is one proviso to putting 80% of maximum pressure in the tires if what is on the door is very much less. The tires will wear more in the center of the tire. When the pressure on the door is significantly less, that means the car is relatively light for those tires (a good thing).
So the lack of weight fails to press down on the highly inflated tires.
