Boy will that change our lifestyle!  Truckers quiting, the ones that don't will charge more.
All goods will go sky high.  Intense inflation!  People will switch to bicycles, motor cycles, mini cars.  Some people will quit jobs with long commutes because gas will cost more than they will earn above minimum wage locally.
Anybody picture more lifestyle changes?

More people taking the bus to work. More carpooling. People that didn't know how to WALK, will learn.

Gee, maybe horses will make a come back.

You pretty much said it all. The price of everything goes up. The dollars are worth less, etc.

But, we are making a very few very rich!
