I think the government should take ALL the profits from this greedy airline, who is flaunting the fact THEY HAVE MANAGED their company successfully and give the money to AAirlines, who can't! That's the only fair thing to do... then raise our taxes! Besides, ppl have no business flying where they want when they want, anyway! Ppl are starving in the world, and these lazy ppl are flying and using GASOLINE!! What an outrage!

You also have to understand one thing. Oil companies are reporting record high profits. Just remember, they are also having record high expenses. The margin of profit is the same. This is also true of airlines. Record high profits measured against record high expenses equal not as much profit as people think. Southwest is the best airline, hands down. American is the worst. They have major problems in that company. It may surprise you, but do you realize that the government owns something like 75 per cent of the land in this country, including land containing oil reserves. The government has a huge role in keeping oil prices high. You will never hear that on the news media. It is one of those best kept secrets that can be proven true with a little research.

I think the government should take over the airlines and oil companies. That's the only way to ensure fairness and take all those obscene profits and put them to good use. After all, the government is known for efficiency and competence at running a business.. right? :-)

Sadly, some people will think I'm serious and think what I just said is a good idea. In fact, at least one Democrat in congress says the government should take over the oil refineries. Keep that scary thought in mind when you vote this fall.

We should never penalize a company that earns money the honest way. SouthWest earned their money by managing their company well.

I also admire Toyota, because when the Camry became the most popular car, they designed a hybrid version, unlike Ford that temporarily discontinued its Taurus when it was it's most popular vehicle. And Ford stll does not have a hybrid version of the Taurus.
