The Sunnyvale ISD held a meeting tonight and on the agenda was the recent sexual assault that took place in the gym by some eight great boys on other boys. Many parents address the School Board in the pack filled library.

The School Board listen as speakers ask why it was covered up so long, and how could a coach only 20 feet away not hear kids screaming as they where assaulted? One parent told the members that he did not want that coach teaching any kids in the school and for him not to get near his kids. Another parent set a chair down right in front of the School Board president and ask him point blank why they tried to cover these assaults up for so long.

The School Board answered very few questions and mainly just set and listen as one parent after another stood up to ask questions or address the school board. Others wanted to know why it took very concerned parents and citizens of the Town of Sunnyvale to pressure the Sheriffs office to investigate before anything was really done. Some seem to think that the Mayor may have told the small sheriff office in Sunnyvale to ease off and let the School Board handle it. If that is the case then this cover up would not only involve the School Board but also the Mayor’s office and the city managers office.

I've heard about the case but don't know HOW they were assaulted. I mean, were the kids "pansing" the others like we did in school? I'm just curious if the pranks we played in school are now considered sexual assaults.

Good question Scotty.

When the Dallas Mourning News finally decided to investigate the story they published that this had been a year long problem and that the victims were not only humiliated but sodomized, which means anal intercourse.

In its defense the Sunnyvale ISD said it first tried to determine if this was acceptable bullying.

Makes you wonder just how much bullying school administrators out there are willing to accept as part of their middle school culture.

Another thing that puzzles me.

This is a homosexual activity.

If this crime had been AGAINST homosexuals it would automaticallly be considered a HATE CRIME.

Why isn't it being done that way now when evidently the victims were heterosexual.

Sounds like the Texas Rangers need to be called in to investigate the school board, mayor, city managers and the sheriffs.

Wow! I didn't know there were allegations of sodomy. Man, someone needs to get their act together stat!

If it was my kid I'd have called in the big guns long ago.

You're right about it being a hate crime, Lee. Great observation and worthy of a new blog which I hope you'll write.

I'd be there to back you up!

It seems to me that when someone gets into "governmant" they become corrupt in their own feeling of power, and can decide what is right, and wrong when it is obvious that they are WRONG. I'd fire them all, including the coach. This sucks.

You know the old adage, Ironman: Absolute power corrups absolutely.

There is still more to this story, they need to ask why so many people tried to cover this up and who these people were. The school board said they ask two people at the school to investigate, well I’m sorry but school employees are not criminal investigators. This was a sexual assault and that is a felony and the police should have been called in to investigate as soon as the school knew what was going on. From all reports the school knew way back in November and December of last year.
Some of the kids are afraid to go back to school this year, they say some of the kids have threaten to beat them up when school starts back up.

Here's what I don't understand about this story. Why didn't the boys who were assaulted go to the hospital or police themselves?

I was born and lived in Dallas all my life. I spent 4 years in the army back in the 70s. I now own my own business here in Dallas Co. I'm proud to live in Texas and in Dallas. When I watch the news, you can bet that ninty percent comes from FoxNews. This is about up close and personal as I want to get.
