Once again it looks like the American people will have to bail out New Orleans. First of all I hope it doesn’t hit New Orleans but if it does here we go again. I say let it wash away and make the people of Louisiana rebuild on higher ground before any tax money is given to them.

I saw a woman on the news that had been there for Katrina and the reporter asked her if she thought the emergency response teams were better prepared this time and she said "well, I don't know of any Hotels they've set up for us or anything. Where are we suppose to go?"

DUH! If a flood hits my area and I am warned in advance it is up to me to get out of the way and find my own place to stay. How about you?

I'm glad they are telling them to get out now or they're on their own. No more super dome to destroy and turn into a public toilet.

It's not up to the city or government to find a place for them to go, it's up to them.

How could you terrible people say that about those sweet ...nah I'm just kidding.+

That lady should be handling herself. Entitlement is not just a river in Egypt. That whole town keeps Nagin because he is the pied piper of entitlement/welfare.

We still have folks from NOLA that are getting services from the government three years after the fact. One year, perhaps, I could see, but at some point you have to be a grown up and stand on your own two feet. There are those who did that and I respect them and welcome them. But there are some who look at this as another chance to get lots of stuff for free based on sympathy and guilt. If the Vieux Carre is flooded this time around, although I loved NOLA, it's time to say enough.

i still get angry when i hear "the government did not do enough for us"! wow, how about one not doing enough for themselves and family. it disgusts me! And then to hear people say that Bush allowed a city to flood lol...it cracks me up. Regardless of who you vote for, Bush was no more responsible for that than You were.

Remember the people in Noah's day that did not heed the warning to move to higher ground and prepare? They too either didn't believe or were waiting on entitlements.

The elite philosopher, Kanye West, called Bushie a racist and said it was Bush's fault. He said it during a benefit for the victims on live TV.

I don't listen to Rap anyway, but now I won't have anything to do with folks who pull that sort of thing.

This dumb, immature Rapper influenced the minds of young, immature listeners. His words may have tainted the government in the eyes of those who heard him forever.

Role model...right.

NTX, I stopped supporting any entertainer who stands up and bashes the govt for not doing enough on any social issue. It is so easy for them to spout what should be done. Those that profess to be 'going green' and drive a Hybrid and then have a private plane to fly around in just chaps me.

"where are we supposed to go", "what are we to do"... THAT is the typical response from the entitlement mind- think ppl, which are usually democrats. Less than smart ppl who reelected Nagin! Waiting for SOMEONE to do what they SHOULD DO for themselves, is the reason for the problem last time. Not the hurricane.
If the worse happens, they should be ignored.. they know better, they will be told to leave. That is where government 'responsibility' ends.

Native, that is the same type of trash that the Dixie Chicks were talking a few years ago. They did pay a price for that. As far as I can tell never really recouped there fame. If people like that want to make political statements. They should be allowed. But, not from stage where I paid money to see them perform and not from a stage where a tax exempt charity is collecting money.

Yes, we should all 'get our minds straight' and look to the elites in Hollywood & Nashville to give us the fine points on politics & the economy. HA! The majority are nitwits who couldn't find their way out of their walk-in closets, without a map. They blame Bush, blame Republicans, when the finger pointing goes driectly back to themselves.

Socialism never works, never has worked, never will work... but these lame brains believe that Castro has the right ideas. They couldn't define the meaning of a free capitalist economy, to save their lives. They truely are idiots.

The maddest I ever got was when Oprah went down to NOLA and made all the conventional statements about people dying in the Superdome. Never mind that her numbers, her facts and her stories were out and out lies. While people did suffer and some people died of natural causes, the stories wilted after officials began in investigate. She never retracted her statements. It's easy to blame any sitting president for the foibles of his underlings. And there were horrible miscalculations. But where was similar concern after the California earthquake that brought the term "pancaked" to us? Why didn't Americans blame THAT president. It's a new era and the whole message is that every step is to be insured, guaranteed and protected by Uncle Sam. I am sure our pioneer ancestors are laughing at us for complaining about such things. NOLA flooded in '65 and they warned them then. It flooded three years ago. People just swarm back and rebuild on what was originally a marshy swamp. I guess some folks don't learn.

If you build on a known flood plain, you will be hard pressed to find an insurance company to insure your home, business or property. It's not our responsibility to keep bailing them out time and time again.

First time is, OMG how tragic!
Second time is, You should have known.
Third time is, What do you have up there for brains?

Being a bit of a weather junkie, Gustav is currently a four. Let's pray that a blast of cool air or island mountains manages to bring it down some.

Oprah was quick to chastise the 1000 little pieces dude, wasn't she?

Celebrities and those on tv act with little ragard to the bigger picture. They are myopic.
Kanye spouted his racist carp with no understanding of the fact the governor was holding things up and the mayor had failed in his duty to implement the emergency plan.

Kanye will never apologize or even recognize that another Black should be accountable for the deaths of so many in NO.

I read articles about how humble West is. BS!! He is a selfish cry baby who proclaimed he was better than everyone else in contintion for the MTV award. He has done this at several award shows. What a douc hebag.

They trashed, utterly destroyed the Superdome. There are still people from NO living off Section 8 housing and the crime rate went up significantly in Dallas. When they got their government stipend, they were buying designer handbags at Neimans and the strip clubs on Harry Hines made a tidy sum. Tell me why our tax dollars should support this kind of help.

I was born and lived in Dallas all my life. I spent 4 years in the army back in the 70s. I now own my own business here in Dallas Co. I'm proud to live in Texas and in Dallas. When I watch the news, you can bet that ninty percent comes from FoxNews. This is about up close and personal as I want to get.
