PART 1:

Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratically controlled Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for 'change' in 2006, and we got it!

Remember, it's Congress that makes the law.not the President. He has to work with what's handed him.

Quote of the Day: 'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.' - Barack Obama

PART 2:

Taxes. Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing. www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax 4,500
Single making 50K -tax$14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 7 5K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democrat candidates will return to the higher tax rates.

It is amazing how many people who fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people who fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this...
Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with propaganda that it's the 'Iraq War' and the 'War on Terror' that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS. I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URLs for verification of all the following facts:

1. $11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at: http://tinyurl.com/zob77

2. $2.2 billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. Verify at: http://www.cis..org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

3. $2.5 billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens. Verify at: http://www.cis..org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

5. $17 billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies. Verify at http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.

9. $200 billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by illegal aliens. Verify at:
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US . Verify at: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.
html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border. Verify at: Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

12. The National Policy Institute, 'estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.' Verify at: http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/pdf/deportation
.pdf

13. In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin. Verify at: http://www.rense.com/general75/niht.htm

14. 'The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration: Nearly One Million Sex Crimes is Committed By Illegal Immigrants In The United States' Verify at: http://www.drdsk.com/articleshtml

The total cost is a whopping $338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR!!

Are we voters that stupid?

If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the country-including every representative in Washington, D.C.-five times a week for as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof....

What a refreshing and excellent post. Welcome aboard the blogs.

Part 3 I have seen before and it is excellent information, thanks for posting. Part 2 I would have to verify before I believe any of that.

As for part 1, sorry but it is going to take a lot more than 1 1/2 years to put right what has been done wrong the previous 5 years by the Bush administration. You can point fingers at the Democratic congress all you want, but they have hardly enough time yet to make a difference.

As for your "quote"- he never said that or anything close to it. Nice try though.

Part 1, no political party has the power to completely destroy the whole system in 16 months.

Part 2, snopes lists this as only partly true.

Part 3, I'm also against programs that aid illegal immigrants, but I do believe this war is costing us too much. The samples listed to compare, is talking of billions of dollars. This war is costing TRILLIONS.

This is a copy of a mass email now making the rounds. It can be found very easily all over the internet. But we all know, if it's on the internet, it must be true.

Since the quote of the day has been debunked (this can also be found on Snopes), we need another quote. So, new quote of the day is ""Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."- George W. Bush

I can't believe how many Americans have forgotten about 9/11! If we weren't fighting the terrorists over there, we'd be fighting them here...

If a Democrap had been elected 9/11 would have destroyed our economy, it is still amazing that we recovered like we did. Yes, the stats are right and yes the Democrat spending machine wants to give all our tax dollars away but not defend our country...

All of your goody ideas won't do us any good if we are no longer free.

DO you know what the biggest problem in America is... The racism against African American babies, do you know that 14 million of their babies have been murdered (you liberals want to call it Abortion)

If you really want to make a difference, work on that problem.. and don't give me any of that crap about your rights, what about the babies' rights????

I love it when Republicans bring up 9/11.

Despite a security briefing entitled "Bin Laden dedicated to strking America" Bush did nothing. Despite the USS Cole being attacked, Bush did nothing. He just continued taking more vacation time than any other American President in history.

On 9-11, Bush sat on a stool inside a class room for 10 long minutes while Americans jumped to their death in New York.

Do you remember how Bush got the information about the 2nd plane striking the WTC? He was told..."Mr. President, America is under attack." Not "Planes have been hijacked." Just "...under attack."

Bush did not know WHAT KIND OF ATTACK. It could have been a nuclear tipped missle from N.Korea, a suitcase bomb or whatever. In that kind of situation, seconds count. AND HE SAT THERE FOR 10 MINUTES!

If that had been Clinton, Oh...how the right would HOWL! But not if it happened under Bush. Republicans love their big spending party more than they love their country. Sad but true.

9-11 happened on Bush's watch. It's a fact. Bad mouth the Dems all you want. Facts is facts. History will not be kind to your boy, Bush. Now go yank your kids out of their private prep school and sign them up for the Marines....oh wait...Iraq is just for poor kids. right?

"I can't believe how many Americans have forgotten about 9/11! If we weren't fighting the terrorists over there, we'd be fighting them here... "

In the 70's, it was "If we don't fight the Viet Cong over there, we will have to fight them over here."

Wrong. But it sounds nice. Do you really think Iraq insurgents will set up shop in Ohio? Really?

If America was invaded and occupied by a foreign country, I am sure elorasmom would NOT fight back.

Did you ever think that a lot of the people setting of IEDs in Iraq are doing so because American troops invaded and are occuping their country?

I love our military. I come from a military family. But this sort of brain dead right wing group think is annoying and shows a lack of brainwaves.

Nice try, Brer-Rabbit but the bashing and blaming of Bush for everything has pretty much been relegated to the schoolyard now. It is old hat, tiresome and 90 or more untrue.

I'd also bet you elorasmom has more heart and spunk than a lot of you cowards on here. I know I remain well armed and defy a criminal or anyone to try something on my family or home. I call the police AFTER I take action.

9/11- Osama Bin Laden...Where is he again? He is somewhere in the Afghanistan/Pakistan border, right?... so why are we in Iraq? To this day I still cannot understand it.

I really don't see the connection between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein. The WMDs? None found.

You say better there than here. Do you then say it is OK that thousands of people are killed over there than here? That's a barbaric logic.

Elorasmom I have encountered so many people who think the same way you do. You ought to read more about the war.

Going back to the illegal alien and spending issue... folks, the only way to solve this is to stop patronizing everything that will need cheap labor...ergo, illegal alien hiring: Restaurants, roads, building of houses, food you eat, carwashes, landscaping, and many more! If you cannot stop your consumption without the use of illegal alien labor, do not say anything anymore. You want a comfortable life yet you complain about the people who make your life comfortable?

Scotty, who exactly are we following? It appears to me that you and many others on here are the followers, blindly following President Bush.

I don't follow Pres. Bush and you can bet I won't follow that poseur, O-Blame-Ya like you sheep. I am a conservative first and foremost - hell not everyone can be on welfare and have their hand out for entitlement.

But I do understand the nature of oil and its importance the world over. Do you understand the importance? I mean, really?

You see, the Islamic religion, rife with whackos and psychos that many of you defend as a peaceful religion, is ripe for taking ALL the oil.

Their first goal is to eliminate little satan (Israel), giving them total control over the Middle East (check your maps). Second, it is big satan, the U.S. Sans oil we are powerless.

Europe is already being lost to militant Islam through assimilation, immigration and terror - not to mention lassaire-faire politics.

Just do a quick Google search on the oil during war and compare the quotes made with the results. In sum, he who controls the oil controls the world. Better wake up!

scotty, who would like to be a leader to a simpleton like you? narrowminded, and ignorant. i bet you haven't even been out of the country to get a perspective of life -- or worst, you haven't been out of Dallas your entire life.

yeah, go ahead and bash, complain, and rant. THE QUESTION IS,do YOU have any solutions to the issue being taken up? If you don't have any because the illegal aliens are actually making YOUR life comfortable, I suggest you go to the public library on Young and Ervay St in Dallas and READ !!! And if you find your way to the public library, read up and find out if there is an actual connection between 9/11 and Iraq.

OK, so scotty do i make the assumption that you know that Iraq was invaded because of its oil and not because of the so-called Weapons of Mass Destruction as we were all led to believe in 2003? So what do you call that of the leader of this country?

So is this war justified because of the oil, if I were to make a conclusion about your recent post? And you are a conservative???? Oil for your SUV at the expense of OUR soldiers and hundreds of thousands of innocent lives?

Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Mary Magdalene and the twelve apostles !!!! You scare me !
