I was just listening about the church that lost their air conditioning  units again. This type of theft is getting way out of hand.
I also heard on the news, of a company, that makes a security system for air condition units. Any tampering with the system, and it sends a signal to the security people/ and or police. Any cut lines, sends a signal. Why isn't this company all over the news if this works?

They should hook up some kind of electrical device to shock the BLEEP outta whoever tries to steal the unit. It's ridiculous, a bunch of friggin theives..stealing from churches, homes and schools probably just to go out an buy their next rock. The laws have got to get tougher with thieves. cut their hand off each time and they will only steal twice. Pretty soon we'd have no theives! :)

I likes your way of thinking TM. Electrocute the poop out of them thieves!

Copper selling up there near $3.00 per pound, got these thieves itching for some easy mula. Really sux that they have to hit the churches though.

When they catch some of these people, the EPA should prosecute to the full extent of the law. When they tear the freon lines off of the units, and let the freon out, that is a federal offence. They caught a guy here the other night that had ripped apart 9 units.

I work for an AC company and we do residential new construction, you would not believe the amount of condensers and stolen copper we replace. Fortunately, for us the builders have to pay for this, but it's a recurring problem...on a daily basis! We even shoot the units down w/ a 22 and pins into the concrete pad, to avoid theft, but now the thieves will just take the concrete pad with it.

Holy cow!! R U Serious? Take the whole pad, don't know about other pads but the one on my yard is huge. At least 800lbs, probably more.

I have seen new houses, that have the units on the side of the house, outside the fence, what any easy target! Why aren't they in the back yard , or why aren't the fences put farther up the sides of the houses ?
Mine is in my backyard with my Blue Heeler, no one comes in my yard.
