American Flag! YES

I love my country and the right we have to fly OUR flag...

The HOA telling the  homeowner to take down his flag, because he didn't ask permission  just infuriates me.

First of all I  dislike HOA's..why peple live where they have others telling them how to live, amazes me..don't their cities have codes, and people that check to see if they are enforced? Why the American flag is an issue anywhere, is beside me as well.

I hope the gentleman  holds to His rights.

Now you see how Hispanics feel when they want to celebrate their roots by hanging out a flag.

It is not the fact he has put up the AMERICAN flag, it he erected the flag pole to hang the flag that is the issue.

There are people from many countrys here and I don't see them hanging their flags to celebrate their roots. I would have to hang about 5 to celebrate mine. I am an American by birth, I live in America and I only honor the American Flag.

You can always drive over to Six Flags and gaze upon the Mexican flag there if you want to celebrate.

I would love to fly the Australian Flag, but out of RESPECT FOR THE USA I would not do that! So stop your longing for Mexico and embrace the Flag and the people of this country.

You take from it and you support crime by supporting illegals in this great nation!

I don't fly the Irish Flag, or the Scottish, or the English.
I fly the American flag because I am American, by birth, and I respect the country, that gives me the Freedoms that are not known all over the world.
The heck with he pole.
Fly the Amerian flag proudly! and High!

The flag pole is the excuse they are using over the flag. The entire issue is him flying the flag of the United States and that insults some.

I don't think his flag pole would even be an issue if he flew the colors of the HOA or even mexicos ugly flag.

Good Afternoon,

I live in an HOA community...

Because of that, my home has increased in value every year since I have been living here.

We dont have cars on cinder blocks in our yards. No trash on our streets. Lawns are nice.

Bottom line is our community is taken care of.

So what this guy wants to use his patriotism to challenge the HOA rules?

I say B.S...

Get a freaking flag mount and put on your front porch like everyone else.

So sick of all the whining...Rules are rules...

I have to agree with POV.....RULES r RULES! Mr. Shirey, you choose to live in a community that has a HOA, you must follow the rules or run the risk of...yes, loosing your home.

I live just down the street from John Shirey. When I sit at my desk at home, I enjoy the view I have of his flag out my window. I believe that the majority of my neighbors feel the same way. Quite a few of us on our street fly the American flag proudly every day, not just on national holidays. I fully support John and hope he is able to keep his flagpole.

I don't live in a HOA community, and we don't have cars on cinder blocks, trash sitting out, and the lawns are nice...Could be because we have CODE Enforcement that is used!
Just because my neighborhood isn't brand new doesn't make it a red neck hell hole. HOA people aren't any better, than anyone else. We all put our pants on one leg at a time, and I don't have to worry about having my house sucked out from under me because I didn't pay some dues to some Holier than thou people.

I live in the country own my own land and I do what the hell I want with it with out anybody telling me what I can or can't do with it...HOA are like a corrupt government, and they can't increase home value with a market like it is anymore than I can....just miss your HOA dues, and see who owns your home then....

The HOA are unelected and they act like Nazi's. I say to hell with them Fly your flag!
If it was my yard I would say to the HOA are you brave enough to come and take it?

I would defend that flag with the rights I have under the LAWS of the land!!!

I am considered a Senior, by A.A.R.P. Have traveled all over this country and lots of Europe. Raised 4 kids with no help from the Gov't. Love dogs and cats and horses, and all creatures, great and small I try to be nice to A/all Lived through the 50's and 60's, and survived.
