I'm upset, and I don't even drink much.

An american Icon has been taken over  by a Belgium Brewery.

Anheuser-Busch, the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light, has agreed to a takeover by a giant Belgian brewer, a union that creates a global beer leader and brings to an end one of the most iconic names in American business.

The board of directors of Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. on Sunday accepted a sweetened $52 billion takeover offer from Belgian brewer InBev SA, according to a joint press release.

A sad day...

I was born and raised in St.Louis,

Whatever will happen to the American Eagle  logo?

Will the Clydesdales be replaced  by Belgium Drafthorses?

The Belgians make AWESOME beer. I'm sorry but Budweiser and Bud Light are not even that good once you've had some finer American independant brews or nice imports. Budweiser is a cheap drinkable brew made specifically for frat parties and barbeques. If anything they may come out with a few new receipes and have a broader selection of beers other than just Bud, Bud light, Bud Select and Bud Ice(ack!) wow....what a multitude of options. In my opinion this a very good thing.

Those Belgians have over 500 different types of beer.

They make every flavor that can be thought of.

I can just see a Redneck Texan trying to order a beer :

it'll take longer to read the menu, than to drink the beer ! LOL

I don't believe they'd even be tempted to change something as successful as the Budweiser brand, so I wouldn't sweat it.

These companies change hands all the time. For a long time Dr. Pepper was part of the British company Cadbury/Schweppes. Now the Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up/Snapple brand is independent. I don't have a problem with foreign companies investing in beer, power and food, yes, beer, no.
