The city of Dallas is giving in.

After all the Hoopla over the renaming of Industrial Blvd.

The city council, is considering changing the name of Ross, or Field St.(one or the other), to Ceasar Chavez .

I still have no idea what Ceasar Chavez has to do with Dallas. He was big in California, helping the farm workers. Do we have Farm Workers here in Dallas?

Seems to me if they were going to name a street in Dallas, to honor someone Hispanic, they would find someone that has done something for Dallas.

Does anyone know that Ceasar was against illegal immigration?

Well as Forest Gump said "Stupid is, as Stupid does" The Dallas City Council is made up of a bunch of whimps who are giving in to the large hispanic population in Dallas, by naming Ross Ave Ceasar Chavez Ave.

Dallas is run by Democrats/liberals who will find every excuse to appease those who should not be. Chavez was a socialist radial in California who didn't like our immigration laws and demanded rights for those who had no rights. Changing ANY street after him is ridiculous and a huge expense for all those living on/doing business ON that street.

Guess they figure it'll help out-of-towner's know where to go to get their TACOS & POT !

All our city councils are trying real hard to destroy what made DFW a great place to live.
They're like Congress, all they can accomplish is this menial BS, or fight with one another !

I don't have a problem with some other appropriate street having the name, but not along a parkway designed for all citizens. I would hope that there would be some historical perspective and that one of Dallas' founders' names wouldn't be dropped just to appease a vocal minority. All I know is that Elba woman is arrogant and annoying.
