THE WORLD GETS WISE TO INCOMPETENCE AND TRUST

Bush National Disgrace

Bush, Musharraf, Ahmadinejad least trusted leaders

Mon Jun 16, 4:07 PM ET

U.S. President George W. Bush is ranked only slightly above the rulers of Pakistan and Iran as one of the least-trusted leaders in the world, a survey released on Monday showed.

The survey, carried out by WorldPublicOpinion.org in 20 countries around the world, found that no national leaders inspired wide confidence outside their own countries. But Bush, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ranked at the bottom, the polling showed.

Only 23 percent of people outside the United States had "a lot or some" confidence in Bush, compared to 22 percent for Ahmadinejad and 18 percent for Musharraf.

The leaders of other countries fared little better. Only 26 percent had confidence in French President Nicolas Sarkozy, 28 percent in Chinese President Hu Jintao, 30 percent in British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and 32 percent in Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has since become prime minister.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had the highest confidence levels, at 35 percent.

"While the worldwide mistrust of George Bush has created a global leadership vacuum, no alternative leader has stepped into the breach," said Steven Kull, director of WorldPublicOpinion.org. "Hu Jintao and Vladimir Putin are popular among some nations, but more mistrust them than trust them."

WorldPublicOpinion.org is a project involving research centers around the world and is managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland.

The group polled 19,751 people in nations that represent 60 percent of the world's population. The survey was conducted between January 10 and May 6, with margins of error of plus or minus 2 to 4 percent

Thanks for sharing this! Doesn't surprise me that people around the world rank Bush right up there with Musharraf and Ahmadinejad. Remember; according Bush, the U.S Constitution is just "A goddamned piece of paper".

Well, its interesting that the UN Secretary General gets high marks since most of the world is ready to allow a more inept organization than our do-nothing except investigate everyone except Planned Parenthood to run the world.

Looks like you and Michelle Obama have been having tea parties. It is so sad that the only things that makes you two proud are things like the defeat of America in Iraq, and the defamation of American troops as murders and rapists and taxing achievers and people who succeed.

BTW, the rest of the world dislikes us because of our greatness and freedoms. I’m guessing you and Michelle O are willing to sacrifice those things to gain the approval of losers and dictators.

"BTW, the rest of the world dislikes us because of our greatness and freedoms. " - Hybrid
That WAS the reason we were revered in the world. That was before the Chickenhawks changed our` image from just, to aggressive, approving of torture, and constant meddling in the affairs of other countries. That`s why we`re hated so much in the world.

"Bush has spent 8 years cleaning up CLintons mess" - Truthsguy

Truthsguy, we all know what Bush has spent 8 tears doing. We are all suffering and greiving from it. The only thing he cleaned was our` clocks. He and his` motley crew fleeced America in more ways than one.

Princess, Princess, Princess - Come on now ! You and I have been living on the same planet, in the same country, in the same local, and you insult your` own intelligence with your` last statement ? Not a single thing you stated is true ! I could take a page out of your` book and say PROVE IT ! But I won`t because you and I both know that would be an exercise in futility. Again I say "AN IDIOT LOOKS LIKE A GENIUS TO ANOTHER IDIOT" ! But I don`t want to apply this to you because I know that you are a very intelligent person who is in denial. The same applies to Truthsguy whom I respect as a human being, but unfortunately he too is in denial. Try to see this poor excuse for a leader for what he actually is, and the damage he has done to our` country and the world.
Have a good day - casey, or is it castey ? .......LOL !

okay casey, this is what i can SEE...

we haven't been attacked on our own soil since 9/11........in my book, that proves we are safer than we were on 9/10, and according to you, the buck stops at the president, so he gets the credit for THIS!

it's a proven fact that as far back as Reagan, we were being warned about Osama Bin Laden....and the threat was largely ignored by Reagan, Bush I & Clinton. also, it is fact that Clinton had the chance, on more than ONE occasion to KILL Bin laden & he didn't. so, now Bush is forced to clean up the mess AFTER since we didn't kill the man to begin with.

regardless of WHY we went to Iraq, we have FREED them from Saddam, which, in my book is just another GREAT thing.

again, if the buck stops at the presidency, not just bad things stop there, but the good things too.

i'm not saying bush is perfect, he is FAR from that..........all MEN are......

but he HAS done SOME good things.......and my personal wealth has grown DRAMATICALLY during the Bush years...........another really GOOD thing! LOL

Mine grew dramatically during the Clinton years and started going downhill when Bush came into office. Now, I'm not running around whining how any president ruined my life, but Clinton was far better for me personally, then Bush Jr.!

"we haven't been attacked on our own soil since 9/11."

Whose decision is this. Bush`s or the terrorists ?
When, where, how ? These decisions "The Decider" does NOT decide. - "he gets the credit for THIS!"
Kinda` like the rooster taking the credit for the sunrise !

"Bush is forced to clean up the mess AFTER since we didn't kill the man to begin with."

Then why didn`t "The Great and Powerful Wizard" go after the right person and not the most accessible person ?

"regardless of WHY we went to Iraq, we have FREED them from Saddam, which, in my book is just another GREAT thing."

Freed them from SADDAM and exposed them to what ? Civil war ? A corrupt and unstable government ? Every day death and carnage ? Forced institution of a western type government ? All at an unforgivable price in lives, both Allied and Iraqi.

God bless you, princess. Are you giving Bush the credit for that, or was it because of good decisions and self-sacrifice by yourself ?

casey, my personal wealth is largely MY own work.....

don't know who's decision it was as far as us being attacked or not.......but there have been alot more arrests & such in that arena.....thanks to homeland security (bush's idea)

if I remember correctly bush DID send our military after Bin Laden, we are still there, with UN forces as we speak fighting them in Kandahar (i think) no, we haven't caught him yet......but it's only a matter of time.

Iraqi freedom.........just this week 3 million Iraqi citizens had the RIGHT to sign a petition voicing their aversion to Iran influence in THEIR country, not SADDAM'S country, THEIR country. The petition would not have existed if not for the FREEDOMS they now have, let alone 3 million Iraqi's FREE to sign it. They ARE working towards a "western style" of government, and they WILL get there......once the factions either AGREE on something or the Mahdr (whatever his name is) faction is just completely shut out. They WILL have a democracy.......and the Iraqi people will be FREE to live in it.

I`m betting after the U.S. quits meddling in Iraqi affairs, the government will revert to it`s former state, with a new Saddam at it`s helm. A rose can`t grow in a garden surrounded by weeds.

We had him cornered at Bora-Bora with the 5th Mountain Division in position to nab him. But the job was turned over to the local war lords. Kinda` like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.....EH ?

I am 70 yrs. old and I have never seen our country in such dire straits as it is today. I was born in W.Va., Grew up in Pa. with Bobby Vinton, and ended up in Oh. Back then, when you graduated from high school in W.Va.,Pa.,or Ky., you received a diploma and a road map to Ohio. I grew up in the 50`s and 60`s, so I know what really good times in our` country were. GOD BLESS AMERICA AGAIN !
