One thing that Obama doesn’t have is thick skin. When you’re
the president of the US you better be able to take a hit and not start whining
like a little baby.
It seems you can’t
say a thing about Obama now without them screaming racism or accusing someone
of attacking him.
President Bush gave
a great speech about terrorism in Israel today and before he got it out of his
mouth the Obama nuts where screaming that Bush was talking about him. The truth
be known I think Obama felt guilt by association more than by name. Bush did
not even mention a name, he just gave a speech. It can only offend those who’s
shoe it fits. And lord knows it fits a lot of people in government today.
But all one has to
do is go back and look at some of the statements Obama has made about dealing
with terrorist and you can see where he stands on treating terrorist like
statesmen.
If Obama was smart (
and he is far from it) he would had agreed with Bush and sent a strong message
to all terrorists that America will not tolerate terrorism.
There seems to be a
pattern with the Obama bunch to yell foul when things don’t go their way. They
now are trying to compare Hillary to George Wallace. If he wants to be
president he better grow a pair. Just look at all the heat Bush have had to endure.
Something happened Tuesday night in Mississippi that, potentially, has far wider ramifications than the ongoing Obama/Clinton soap opera. The bottom line there is that Obama has the numbers and Clinton must soon admit the inevitable and drop out.
I must admit that I missed the bigger story until today when I started surfing some of the political blogs and news sites. Another GOP seat was lost in Mississippi Tuesday night -- a seat that not long ago was considered a Republican lock. Drudge and others claim Republican big wigs are shocked and dismayed at what it could mean for the party this fall. Something has to be done, many of them are saying, to reverse course.
This from Real Clear Politics:
In a major blow to national Republicans, a Mississippi congressional seat that once voted for President Bush by a twenty-five point margin elected a Democrat on Tuesday. Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers beat out Republican candidate Greg Davis, the mayor of Southaven, by a 54%-46% margin, a spread that several Republican strategists on Capitol Hill characterized as a startling wake-up call for a party in dire straits.
This from Financial Times:
"...the Democratic win in Mississippi on Tuesday delivered the third consecutive Republican congressional defeat in otherwise safe districts following a recent loss in Louisiana and in the Illinois district of Dennis Hastert, the former Republican speaker... “Since 1980 I have not seen a terrain so tilted against one party as it is against the Republicans in 2008,” says Norman Ornstein, a political analyst at the conservative American Enterprise Institute.
I suspect that there will be some real soul searching over the next couple of months as Republicans try to figure out how to change the momentum. Democrats have been successful where they can tie their opponents to the White House. Dick Cheney campaigned for the Republican in Mississippi and most think that was big mistake. I'm not sure how big a role he played. President Bush is very unpopular now but the disapproval numbers are just as bad for Congress as a whole.
The bottom line is that Republicans know they have to do something different than what they've done in these special elections. Figuring out what ... that's the challenge. We'll all be watching.
Obama told Iowa radio listeners last year that he is a "strong believer" in the rights of hunters and sportsmen, and that homeowners should have a firearm "to protect their home and their family." But then in the next breath, he says, "It's hard for me to find a rationale for having a 17-clip semiautomatic.
Obama supports the gun ban in the nation's capital, saying the "DC handgun law is constitutional." And he is opposed to people using guns for self-defense, when those guns are owned in localities like Washington, DC and Chicago where firearms are banned.
Illinois resident Hale DeMar was prosecuted by the town of Wilmette for using a handgun in his home to defend his family in 2003. Because Wilmette had imposed a ban on the possession of handguns, several Illinois state legislators introduced SB 2165 to protect the right of self-defense for residents like DeMar. True to form, Obama voted against the pro-gun legislation.
The concealed carry of firearms is another important issue for gun owners, and yet Obama is not only opposed to citizens carrying guns, he supports using federal laws to override those states which currently allow the practice.
In 2004, Obama said he supports a national ban on concealed carry because the states that allow it are "threatening the safety of Illinois residents." Never mind the fact that concealed carry laws have improved the safety of citizens in the states that have enacted such laws.
As the picture suggest many folks won't give up their firearm without a fight.
Hillary blows Obama
who, out in W. Virginia. White-collar working people are not buying into Obama
being the second coming of Christ, but more like the false prophet.
People need to hear
more that someone just rambling on about change. The fact is Obama talks about
change but he has never changed anything. He did very little while a state
senator and even less as a US senator. Talk is cheap, and this guy is a wind
tunnel.
OK, if you like Obama,
tell me what you think he is going to change.
I have a idea that was sent to me that could make gas prices go down. Maybe it would work so here it is.
ONLY IN AMERICA CAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS BE ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.
This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.
Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!
I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?
We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas.
It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!
By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.55 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.
But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) .. and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been cont acted!
If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!
(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.
Too bad they left so many like me out in the cold.
Until republicans get back to the things they used to stand for, and actually mean it, they will never have my vote.
Maybe 4 years of Obama and his racist wife and corrupt socialist racist elitist buds, will convince the republican party to stop playing like they are royalty and decide to work for the country and the US citizen.
It's appalling that Capehart won district 2, especially after she told me in a telephone conversation she and I had a week or so ago that since I did not agree with her on the red light camera issue, if one of my family members were to be hurt or killed in at an intersection without a camera, she would not feel sorry for me. Boy I tell ya, that's what I want is a "leader" that would have no sympathy for anyone involved in a tragedy if they did not agree on political issue with them! Way to go Arlington, you voted in another loser for our city council. I did write the star telegram about this issue but they refused to let the public know the truth about those who were running for office.
It's always dangerous to discuss politics and religion. Today I'm going to tackle both. And, urge every Christian to read An Evangelical Manifesto. It was released earlier this week by more than 70 theologians, clergy and Christian leaders and, in effect, seeks to reclaim the name 'Evangelical" from the clenched fists of those who have sullied it in the name of POLITICS. Here's a small portion:
"...we Evangelicals repudiate two equal and opposite errors into which many Christians have fallen recently. One error has been to privatize faith, interpreting and applying it to the personal and spiritual realm only. Such dualism falsely divorces the spiritual from the secular, and causes faith to lose its integrity and become privately engaging and publicly irrelevant, and another form of hot tub spirituality.
The other error, made by both the religious left and the religious right in recent decades, is to politicize faith, using faith to express essentially political points that have lost touch with biblical truth. That way faith loses its independence, the church becomes "the regime at prayer," Christians become "useful idiots" for one political party or another, and the Christian faith becomes an ideology in its purest form. Christian beliefs are used as weapons for political interests."
A few local names of note involved in the effort -- A. Larry Ross whose P.R. firm represents Billy Graham and other Christian leaders, Dr. Mark Bailey and Dr. Darrel Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary.
I was watching a report on a superdelagate in California who is willing to sell his vote for 20 million dollars. Doesn't that just fly in the face of everyone who goes to the polls to do thier democratic duty and vote for the candidate of their choice? If this is the case, does it really matter who we vote for or can we just sell the office to the highest bidder. I'm really dissappointed in the mind set that everything is for sell, even the election. I don't know how the rest of the country feels about this, but as far as I'm concerned he can just keep his superdelegate vote.

This Will Be The #1 Issue in the 2008 Elections-- And, It Goes to Republicans
Over the past 30 years:
Which party blocked the development of new sources of petroleum?-- Democrat Which party blocked drilling in ANWR?-- Democrat Which party blocked drilling off the coast of Florida?-- Democrat Which party blocked drilling off of the east coast?-- Democrat Which party blocked drilling off of the west coast?-- Democrat Which party blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast?-- Democrat Which party blocked building oil refineries?-- Democrat Which party blocked clean nuclear energy production?-- Democrat Which party blocked clean coal production?-- Democrat
Republican Senator Craig gave this speech (and put together these charts/maps) in May 2006. Nothing has changed since then:
We are experiencing higher gasoline, oil, and natural gas prices today because of decades of restricted development of new sources of petroleum.
From ANWR to off-shore development such as Lease Area 181 in the Gulf of Mexico, we have identified oil and natural gas reserves that can be developed and used responsibly. Yet time and time again efforts to increase supply, and reduce prices, are blocked. For instance, ten years ago President Clinton vetoed development in ANWR.Democrats for the past 30 years have blocked every effort to responsibly develop the energy resources our country possesses. As Americans pay more for gas than ever under this Congress-- Democrats continue to vote against drilling and oil exploration.
Instead, Democrats believe taxing oil companies will somehow bring down gas prices. Even, Jay Leno is mocking them. Democrats like to attack evil American oil companies and block them from drilling off our coasts. But, it doesn't seem to bother them when China starts drilling for oil in these same areas 50 miles from Key West.
