After a 13-3 no playoff win season, there is some speculation about the future of Wade Phillips as the Cowboys' head coach. Mike Florio recently made a list of the top ten NFL coaches that could possibly lose their jobs after this upcoming season. Normally, being #1 is a good thing, but not this time. Florio's column has Phillips on top of the list.

With the big contract to Jason Garrett, and having both of the other Garrett boys, John and Judd, employed by the Cowboys, it appears the writing is on the wall. With all of the pro-bowlers on this team, Jerry Jones expects to have some playoff success this year. If that success doesn't come, a head could roll. That being the head of Wade Phillips.

Maybe the Cowboys are keeping Wade around until they can nab Bill Cowher?

I know the talk is about Jason...but is it really a smokescreen?

We all know what a trustworthy sterling character Jerry is.If I were Wade I would read all the fine print very carefully.

Do I sense a modicum of jealousy here?

I've been out of town for awhile, so sorry about the delay in my responses.

I do believe the story is correct. Right or wrong, I believe Wade is gone if he doesn't win at least one playoff game. And I also believe Jerry Jones is just waiting to give Jason his chance.

No problem, I hope you had some fun while you were away.

You may be right, cb. Wade has had winning seasons everywhere he's been, so only time will tell.

Scotty, thanks. I had a great time in Denver. I was there for my regional union meeting, but I was able to slip in some fun time, too. A few of us went white water rafting and took a tour around Red Rocks. We saw a black bear, a few mountain goats, and a couple of elk. Oh, and the weather was fabulous.

Back to sports for a second; my hotel room overlooked the new Bronco stadium. It looks really good with the mountains in the background. But I'm sure the new Cowboys' stadium will blow it away.

I am a Cowboys fan. Love politics- hate politicians. More of a Libertarian in thought. Dislike radicals on both sides.
