I see a pattern with talk radio and conservative bloggers. It seems that every time the right wing talk radio shepherds come up with a new phrase for Obama, the flock of sheep suddenly turn into a bunch of parrots. At first Obama was described as barack "HUSSEIN" obama, then an elitist, then arrogant  and now he is the messiah. I can hardly wait to see what's next.

If you feel it is necessary to call  names and use catch phrases, please show your wit and cunningness by being original.

I just find it ironic that the very people that like to criticize Obama for supposedly lacking substance choose to attack him with silly names.

You would think that someone making a point of using this as their primary argument would want to support their belief by providing some of the very thing they are noting an absence of in the person they are noting an absence in.

...nope.

Name calling and one liners.

Well golly gee. Let's talk about all those to the left that have spent the last 8 years calling our President "Dubya" or "monkey". Are those original? Are they one liners?

Can I call Obama "monkey"? Can I call him "Black"? Can I call him "colored"? No, those would all be racial, wouldn't they? Even our political cartoonists are worried if Obama wins because they can't draw him without fear of racism.

"Dubya" is derogatory? I hope I didn't hurt his feelings. I thought it was used in referencing the letter "W". Stupid me.

If you feel it necessary to reference Obama's race to make a point, go for it. But I am curious as to what point that might be. Please share.

Since when do 2 wrongs make a right anyway? You're arguing that you do it because the other kids do it?

Hmmm...

I dunno...

Sounds a tad bit silly huh?

Thank you Dak!!!!

cbfan, yoiu asked," "Dubya" is derogatory?"
Yes it is because Dem's called our President that because they didn't want to show the respect of calling him by his name and title; President Bush.

"If you feel it necessary to reference Obama's race to make a point"
No I don't. You did. Re-read my post. If Dem's can call President Bush a monkey because his ears stick out then I should be able to call Obama a monkey because his ears stick out too. Color has nothing to do with it. It's about the ears.

You want "wit" and "Cunning". Here's a few nicks for Obama I just made up:
50/50 or Half and Half because his ideas are only half a$$.
Dalmatian because he’s the only one that can’t hear the siren.
Salt and Pepper because he tries to cover up the bad taste.
Skunk because his ideas stink.

Well some people might be laughing at clever little wordplay above... some might be laughing at the silliness of all of this.

...we are a very ridiculous bunch.

so I've noticed, also a very disrespctful bunch, some are , some of the rhetoric here boderlines on more trash talk, than responsible discussion , how quick some get in to demeaning the messenger, rather than the messaage

There are frustrations on both sides I think. I think we would all be doing well to acknowledge that and if we do cross the line we shouldnt be afraid to sacrifice a little bit of face in order to maintain civility. If I make an ass out of myself attacking someone then I hope I will have the humility to admit it.

I can be an ass from time to time so if you see me do that then tell me.

Hussein is derogatory? It's his name!

Dak413 read my blog view my photos
Jul 29, 2008 | 3:23 PM

but, emphasis on Hussein, has a tendancy to associate with Saddam, I think, unfortunately and could be misconstrued as derogatory

I think there may be a bit of winking going on with the Hussein issue. It is indeed his name. It is also purposely used to try to associate him with Saddam. Some people feign ignorance about it. Its maybe just a tad bit wrong but by now most of the people that were going to be affected by it have already made up their minds.

My only question is why it was so long after He came on the scene, that His middle name came out , and whether it was purposely held back becuz it maybe associated in that way .
