So it seems that the house and senate passed the 1/2 trillion dollar spending bill.

We can thank Texas Republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson for the language gutting the mandated border fence that our esteemed lawmakers passed into law because the people demanded it.

I really want to see just how much money Hutchinson gets from the "illegal alien rights" groups for her next campaign. Word is she will not run again for Senate, but Tx governor may be on her agenda.

She should be run out of any office for good.

This budget bill that passed pays off everyone on both sides. With over 29 billion in some 12,000 Earmarks, every House Member and Senator was bribed to sign off on this monstrosity of a bill.

Democrats promised us no more earmarks at all once they took office. Republicans did the same crap for 6 years when they had power.

We are over 9 TRILLION dollars in debt right now. The country is on a path to destruction. We know for a fact that the money will never be there for all of the TRILLIONS of dollars promised and already spent into the next 4-5 decades. And even knowing that, they spend and spend and spend.

The only chance this country has, is revolution; and the odds of that being successful are pretty close to zero.

I am ashamed of my government and afraid for my country.  We all should be.

This country certainly needs a revolution. A revolution by the voters. Every incumbent should be voted out. The other night I watched Robin Williams as Tom Dobbs in Man of the Year. His comments about the politican's loyalities to the special interest groups hit the problem right on the head. Politicans are prostituting their votes.

Can you say "term limits" for Congress.

Kay Bailey dropped the ball. One of the only things I agree with Ron Paul about is the future North American Alliance of the US, Mexico and Canada. There can be NO logical reason why the majority say no to Mexico and yet the politicians continue to ignore our voices.

I don't know how much influence Kay B. was in this "bill", but I have always thought she used up good oxygen in the Senate Chamber - never complained because I didn't care if the others were short of it.

I do think some people 10-15 years ago had the right idea. They refused to pay taxes. Now those people got in trouble, but if thousands and thousands across the country rebelled, we might just get some attention from DC. I have found there is no other way to get their attention.

You're right CJL - American Politics 101 should begin : How To Run A Country Into Ruin.

Maybe a book: "Legalized Theft" by the US Government !

Both parties are the same, they lie to get in office, then the only changes they make are for the worst. They have so much money coming in, it's hard to find enough ways to waste it.

Hutchinson is a disaster ! Bad as the Governor we have now !

It's truely sad.

It's a pleasure to see so many "getting it" - that there's barely a dime's worth of difference between the major political factions in this country. What we currently have is four parties - the Democrats and the left-wing Democrats; the Republicans and the right-wing Republicans. And then we have US, the Independents, who declare no allegiance to any of the above. Thankfully, there are far more of "us" than the R's and D's would care to admit. That fact was never more pronounced than in the recent federal elections, which were actually MUCH closer votes than the victors will admit.

Immediately after the '06 elections, New York Senator Chuck Schumer released a statement indicating his belief that it was the Independent vote that actually made the difference, but his statement was quickly banished to the back page, while the wild "We're in charge now" celebration was in full swing. Senator Schumer was absolutely correct in his assessment. This past year's congressional production is absolute proof that the status quo is a huge negative in American politics. Democrats had a great chance to lock up the White House with a landslide win in '08. They blew it...and now that election is totally up in the air.

We need more folks to step back and take a serious look at what's actually going on - and then pull their support from the R's and the D's and declare Independence.

Vote out every single incumbent in the next two elections and it will stop. Oh but I am so glad to hear that we are sending another 705 million to the Palestinians. Foreign aid sucks.

I've never been a big fan of Kay's, but she's certainly LOST my confidence and vote. She needs to LISTEN to the people of Texas she represents... we want to STOP ILLEGALS, NOT GIVE THEM ENTITLEMENT OR A HOME.

Build the dang fence!!!!, give the BA's guns and allow them to USE them to defend themselves against these horrible people throw rocks, stones, molotov cocktails and the occasional bullets!!

and don't vote for KBH

It's fairly easy to say "I won't vote for (insert name here", but the fact of the matter is, it all depends on who else is on the ballot. What we're NOT getting is a choice...it's either a tax & spender, entitlements advocate or a pro-amnesty, "make love, not war" yahoo who doesn't represent our way of thinking, either!! Even so-called fringe candidates have dreadful position papers on matters that really count....and/or a total lack of experience on critical matters.

Either way, WE lose.

I may know the reasons for all the above concerns. Some 900 missing FBI files! However if that's the case, we must have a very smelly gassy gaggle of gangsters in Congress. Hmmm. Who'd have thunk it?

Robbin Williamns, stated a long time ago, that poli. were like diapers and needed to be changed and changed often. I for one would join any group that would like to start a rev. I worked 52yrs. and sure hate to see my money sent over seas or given to illegals. K.B. has a poor rep. for Tex. I called and Emailed her so many times that I thought my phone and comp. would wear out. Lets all vote ever damn one out of off. ever time there is an election and after a few votes like this some one would get his/her s--t together I bet you.
