We need this passed so we can all curb the relentless crimes we now have.Go to www.opencarry.org and sign the petition.Click on the first link under "Hot Issues".

I for one want the right to carry a handgun in plain sight and make the thugs think twice before they do anything.

I agree with you, cowboyswife .

Not that it would stop all of the stupid, drugged up, and crazy criminals out there, but at least we might have a fighting chance !

With proper gun safety training, I see nothing worse than the cops that are packing now !

I am all for it. Let's strap on a sidearm or two, and blast the heck out of these punks that think they can do whatever they want to whoever they want. It might just save a few innocent victims.

Where do I sign up? Kidding, I see the link. I can imagine all the scared looks you'll get from people when there is open carrier. We should have had this right from the begining. The conceled part of carrier is a joke.

This story was a surprise to me. I have always thought the Texas Constitution already allowed carrying a gun in the open.

It's a good deal and needs to be done... TX is only one of 5 states, which do not have OPEN CARRY. Really lame.
Say,some bleeps sees you leaving a music studio with an EXPOSED GUN, they're much more likely to leave you alone.

When ever I get out of my truck at night to unload..Parts...I always have mine in waistband...it's anywhere from midnight till 5 am...behind bodyshops...no one is getting withing 20 foot of me back there too much going on not too...

I deliver parts at night starting at about midnight till 5 am from texarkana and all around south and back to Mt Plesant...when I get out of my truck my pistol goes in my waistband......sorry but NOBODY gets within 20 ft of me when I am back there unloading...because no one has any business but me there...at that time of morning.. if they are roaming that time of night they are up to no good anyway....

FYI - cowboys wife - my boy has the same rainforest bouncer as is in that picture - what a LIFESAVER! Now that he go go goes I miss the days of the rainforest bouncer...

In the great state of Texas, you have the right to carry a long gun down the street in plain sight. But God forbid that you carry a hand gun openly!

The US Constatution grants the right to "Keep and Bare ARMS." I love that law and think that appllies to all guns not just a few types.

Happy with life and am deeply in love with my hubby. I beleive that right is right and wrong is wrong.Any kind of meanness is unacceptable! My weakness is animals,children and the elderly.I think Louie Armstrongs song "What A Wonderful World" says it all!
