Sometimes reporters are personally affected by the stories we cover.  For me, the investigation and murder trial involving Glenda Furch is that story.

"Gail," as my family referred to her, was a very sweet lady and one of my sister's closest  friends.   In fact, the two were like sisters themselves.  They'd been hanging together since the 70's when both were in high school.  More recently Gail was often the first person I'd see at  the frequent  barbecue get-togethers my sister hosted. She'd also be among the last to leave because the two of them could never seem to stop laughing and talking about everything.

The reason Fox 4 was the very first station at Gail's apartment on October 1, 2007 is because my frantic sister called me as soon as she learned, through Gail's daughters, that something was terribly wrong inside the apartment and police were on the way.

The nightmare began that day.  And even after the murder conviction and life prison sentence handed  to her killer, it continues.  You see, "closure" is not a word that applies here.  Gail's remains...my sister's wonderful friend... she's still out there somewhere.  And that hurts.

During my last interview with Shimon Furch, Gail's daughter,  I was empowered by her strength.  She said, "As the days go by, you just learn how to cope a little better, because each day you wake up, she's still missing."

I'd like to appeal to everyone who --if you dare-- can put yourself in the shoes of this family...  Perhaps you can whisper a prayer for them in hopes they'll receive the thing they need most.  Peace.  And the ability to give their daughter, mother, grandmother and friend the proper burial she deserves.

Thanks for the time.

Hey Bloggers,

I need a little help with interviewing caterers.  I'm trying to help someone very close to me hire a caterer.  Do you have any advice on what questions are important to ask when considering someone.   The job would be for a medium sized gathering (20 - 25 people) at a private home.  Rentals and servers would be part of the equation.  Thanks in advance!!

  Hey Bloggers!

Its not for me...but my husband.  I need some great ideas for celebrating my husband's upcoming 40th birthday.  I've got some time...it's in September.  I need something local, not too-over- the-top, but definitely special.  A party would be too typical, he's not into golf, he loves jazz, all sports and can work the kitchen like a pro!

Whether it was yours or someone's you attended...  I'm all ears for your ideas.

I recently reported on the plight of a sixth grade Keller schoolteacher who was fired -- allegedly -- (we have no official explanation from the school district) because she has too many students failing. This math and science instructor also pointed out she refused to succumb to the subtle pressure to simply "pass" students.. whether they earned it or not.
So here's my question to parents with school age kids.. How do you rate your children's teacher(s)? Are your kids getting the education they deserve?

Hey Fellow Bloggers!!

Today while on the Fox4 news trail ... I covered a press conference with Fort Worth Police and Texas Motor Speedway officials talking about how much smoother the traffic flow is in and out of the facility on big race weekends.

It was also pointed out, the throng of vehicles we're talking... is equivalent to the population of Arlington!    This got me thinking.  I asked myself...just how addicting is this sport?  Apparently... very!

I'll admit when I did live shots at T.M.S. from the garage area during last year's Dickies 500, it was an awesome feeling...   being so close to the "star" cars whizzing by heading for the track... plus interviewing some crew members and at least one driver.

Anyway...here's my dilemma.  I would love to become a bonafide race fan but there seems like there's so much information and race-related jargon I don't understand!  What is the announcer talking about when he says the number 23 car is, "tight coming off.."  or "loose in the middle?"  And what the heck is a "rooster tail?"

Let me hear from you... tell me how YOU got hooked on auto racing.  Tell me the most exciting aspect of attending at race from your perspective.  Is it all about speed? The adrenaline and excitement?  Maybe it's the awesome teamwork during the pit stops.

I'm Dying to become a Diehard!

  Hey All!

Fox 4 Reporter Dionne Anglin here!  We're just a few days away from celebrating Easter and I have a serious shopping dilemma.  One of my best friends in Sacramento sent my 7-year old daughter, Madison, a beautiful dress to wear to church on Sunday.  It's not too frilly, but hangs very lovely on her.  The dress is ankle length so (being from the days of old school!) I think it would be so much better with one of those "can can" slips.  The undergarment that makes little girls dresses poof out.     Problem is... I don't have a clue where to buy them!  Someone told me I'd have to find a little boutique off the beaten path... or maybe a shop that specializes in dresses for quincinera celebrations!  Can anybody help???   I've got 4 days to find one!!

Hopeful...but running out of time,

Dionne (the shopping challenged reporter)
