A two year old found wondering in an intersection and she had been there for awhile...Where was that mom??? The mom strolled to the scene and scooped up her kid and left...why wasn't she frantic ....hurrying...frightened...now the question is if she should be charged?   Yes!!! How does a 2 year old manage to get that far away for so long unnoticed? Where was that mom and what was she doing???? She wasn't minding her kid ...that's for sure

Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I had picked up my oldest from high school & as I was starting back down Belt Line, there was a toddler walking into the road!! She was almost to the median. I stopped my car, jumped out & scooped the baby up. I then pulled into the side street. An elderly lady on the sidewalk said she thought the baby lived next door to her. I rang that doorbell & 4 adults came out. The mother was the last to arrive & casually took the baby from me. I told them how the child was nearly to the median by the time I was able to get to her. Not one adult in that house had missed her until I rang the doorbell. The houses on this street are small houses too, so I asked how in Heaven's name was that baby able to have that kind of time to open the door & wander 3 houses down & into the middle of Belt Line road unnoticed. The adults had no answer. There are people I guess who are just stupid or they don't care.

Did you notice tha so called mother didn,t show up for over two hours. She looked a little wet to me. Tha police let her go. If she had been legal C.p.s. would have taken her baby with them. Whata ya think?

I can't believe they gave the toddler back to the mother.
June, did you call the police back then?

Hi, I'm Remington Iron, the attorney for the woman you have apparently misunderstood. My client wasn't being neglectful as you have portrayed her. No indeed. You see, my client, being the progressive and outstanding mother that she is, was merely traing the child in question. In fact, the kid is one of the first to undergo Traffic Control Officer School. Now it may seem suspicious to people not cognizant of this novel and generous program, but I ask you, what parent would convict my client of neglect when in fact she was training the child to assist you who accuse her? Your honor, I humbly request that these ridiculous charges be dropped. Thank you.

lol scotty-

guys, this lady wasn't much of a mom at all- what person could call her a mom, when she wasn't addressing her notherly duties, she's a real peice of work... I will say that.
I say she should be charged, what if that baby had been hit by a car, chances are she would have filed a lawsuit against the driver, and won none the less!!!

Disgusting indeed, this woman should be charged and that child should have went into the custody of CPS! What kind of responsible adult/parent would have allowed this woman (she’s no mother in my eyes) to take her child and leave with her, after an incident like this????? How could someone not notice there child was missing? As a mother I know where and everything my 4 year old is doing when she’s with me.

Hey, PA, no offense, but if she was white, what would have been your racist comment for her then?

Just curious.

sally.. bad white mothers don't let their babies wander off into traffic.. they keep them home and drown them in the bathtub, try to keep up.

I don't understand how parents can be that neglectful or why the mother would not be freaking out. But I do first hand understand how quickly it can happen. It happened to me. My baby was two, and it was Mother's Day. So, like most mothers on this day, I was sleeping in. Shortly before 8:00am I heard a neighbor screaming my name through out my house (how had she gotten into my home was my first question) She said that she had been down at the corner diner picking up breakfast for her mother when she saw a cop holding a baby- that looked like my baby. I immediately went into panic mode. Running through the house, waking everyone up, and checking all of her normal hiding places. She was gone. We immediately jumped into our car and sped to the diner. We didn't care that we were still in our wrinkled night clothes, that our hair was all a mess, that we had awful morning breathe, and that we were barefooted. Can you picture it- a baby with her pet kitten, and mom & dad looking all a mess, in this crowded diner on Mother’s Day? We didn't care. We were just so grateful that she was okay and that an angel had picked her up before she had a chance to cross a major road. We invited her rescuer and the cop back to our home to thank them. When we got back home, we saw how she had gotten out- let's just say that mommy was not a very good carpenter:) A few weeks prior to this we had caught her trying to "sneak out". So I had installed one of those chain locks and placed it way up high so that she couldn't reach it. I placed one half on the door, and the other half into the wall. Th

That morning when she went to "take her kitty to day care and then go to work" she actually had pulled on the door so hard, that it had yanked the plate out of the wall. How-- because stupid Mommy didn't think to anchor it into a stud- I just had it screwed in to the sheetrock. And there it was, my daughters great escape because Mommy had assumed that a 2 yr old would not be able to get out of this set up. Boy was I wrong. Needless to say, it was the worst Mother's day because I felt so guilty about not being smart enough to put the plate into a stud, and thinking of all the other little things I hadn't done right while thinking I was protecting her. But it was also the best because I realized that there are still Angels among us and I had a healthy, happy little girl to spend the rest of my day with.

So happy "happybunny" you had happy ending (am I studdering)...I am sure it can happen but the affect of that mom on the news was all wrong..she actually looked angry and annoyed..probably not a first time thing for her ...

Dawngoddess, you made me laugh:) I actually do have a stuttering problem, and I thought I could hide it in my writings, but apparently not:)

I hope that she will learn from this and make provisions to better protect her children.
