My daughter and I were discussing this whole episode with the police officer that was killed in the motorcade...she had a good question or solution....When you have a high profile motorcade such as this.....is it feasible for an ambulance to be part of the detail?  Although it sounded as if this officer was killed instantly...is this something that is workable for the future?  It makes sense to me but there might be logistics I don't understand.

Because of how it would look the motorcade will probably never have an ambulance as part of it. Good idea but IMO it'll never happen

dawn, this morning Tim on the news said something about an ambulance being in the motorcade. Maybe it'll turn out that the politicians do care more about safety than they do the way it all looks :)

tm...I heard that same thing...I guess an ambulance could certainly be "in the area"..if not a part of the motorcade....

I saw the motorcade this morning with VP Dick Cheney in it. There were a lot of cops! No ambulance though.
