Wanted to wish everyone Happy New Years, and may everyone come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior in this upcoming 2007. He is the light in this dark dark world. May we all have peace and joy in 2007 as well.

Did I tell you that I love him? He calms my soul. His humor is truth and reality in it. If you ever get a chance to watch one of his movies or plays I would sincerely recommend it. You don't even realizing he has you thinking about any religion when he is playing Madea. The kids copy her and it is so funny when they go to school speaking of the Lord thru the ways of a man who was once homeless and now helps the homeles. I am on his list and attached is his latest email to his fans.
Hi Everybody,
I haven't written in a while. I've been just a little busy getting
the studio ready to go. It is going to be amazing. I'm going to throw
a big party in February 2007 for the release of "DADDY's LITTLE GIRLS"
and the official opening of the studio. Can you tell that I'm just a
little excited about it?
I had to come and tell you guys thank you!! I won the Quills Award for
Humor Book of the year as well as Book of the Year! Last year it was
Harry Potter and this year it's Madea. Isn't that crazy? Thank you!
The Quills Award will air soon on NBC. I'll have the details for you
on my website when I get it.
Anyway, what did I want to tell you?...Oh, okay when I said that I was
alone for my birthday I didn't want you to think that it was a bad
thing. I enjoyed that time to myself. It was really something that I
needed--some me and God time. It was all good.
A lot of you wrote on the message board that you thought I that I
shouldn't have been alone on my birthday and apparently a few of my
friends thought so too.
That next week, my new show "WHAT's DONE IN THE DARK" came to Atlanta.
Now most of my close friends are in this show, so when they got to
town I was glad to see them but they were all acting so strange. I
figured that they were up to something, I just didn't know what.
Well, after the show at the Fox Theatre, one night one of my friends
said that an elderly woman had gotten hurt at the show and she just
wanted to meet me, so I agreed. They took me around front to this
little club (it was the one we used as Chandra's in DIARY OF A MAD
BLACK WOMAN - The Movie). I said to myself "Why is she in a jazz
club?". As I walked in the door there they were, all of my close
friends yelling "Surprise!!!"
Okay, it's really hard to surprise me, but they got me. Regina Bell
was up singing "Happy Birthday". Then she sang "Baby Come to Me".
Then my cast did a jam session (they are soooo talented). Then India
Arie sang one of her hits, you know the one that starts off saying
"Because he is the truth, because he is so real, I love the way that
he makes me feel". I was grinning from ear to ear listening to her
sing that to me.
Now the final thing that they did really moved me. The entire cast
and crew got up and dedicated a song to me. The song simply expressed
how grateful they all were. That did my heart good. Not for the
praise of it, but just to know that it feels good to touch people in
some way or another. What I've found is that you can touch a lot of
people who don't know you, but when you have the power to touch the
people that see you everyday, when your happy or sad or angry or up or
down, that is truly a test of your character and says a lot about who
you really are.
I'm supposed to be writing "WHY DID I GET MARRIED? - The Movie". I
just stopped for a little bit to check in. I came out to my house in
California (if you want to see some pictures of it go here:
http://tylerperry.com/beach_house) to try to get some rest after I
hurt my back. I hurt it a few weeks ago taping my opening for the
Black Movie Awards.
I'm fine, but if you miss the Black Movie Awards on October 18th, on
TNT (cable), then you are going to be sorry. IT IS FUN-NY. Okay, let
me tell you how I hurt my back and then I've got to go.
The opening is a salute to black movies, so I came up with this idea
where we salute some of my favorite movies on film. We salute "LADY
SINGS THE BLUES", where I'm Billy Dee and Madea is Diana Ross. We
then salute "WHAT's LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT", where I'm Ike and Madea
is Tina. Well, that's how I hurt my back--trying to do those dance
moves while at the same time running from Ike! And my favorite "THE
COLOR PURPLE", Madea is both Celie and Sofia. YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE
THIS.......LOL.
I'll holla,
TP

Weather
Since moving here to Tx 4 years ago many changes have happened. But one thing that is so obvious to me is how the weather changes in an instant. You can be driving on the toll way and it is a beautiful day with a few puffy clouds, but turn your head the other way and it is dark as night. We run into the rain and eventually run out of it. TX is big but it can't rain forever.
I was just wondering how come sometimes when I look past the sunny side there are these beautiful sunsets with colors of pink/purple ect. They remind me of gods beauty and next time you see one I hope they remind you too. Maybe its his way of putting a rainbow in the sky with a paintbrush, not everything is what it seems.

I find as God tries to test me some times I fail and some times I succeed. Right now is one of the most trying times of my life, but I know one thing for sure. It is in his hands and he knows best!!!!

I see a TX Lottery commercial at least 2x a day claiming to be giving billions of dollars to Texas schools yet at the same time I see on Fox 4 yesterday where some schools in the Dallas ISD didn't have airconditioning, over 138,000 students( something like that) didn't even show up for the first day.
Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the lottery to give the money to the schools because I know TX is big, but between state funds and all the lottery monies we should have no issues at all.
I am just a confused viewer on this issue.

Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tunes without the words and never stops at all.

"Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present--love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure--the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth." - Sarah Ban Breathnach

Mean Moms....
>
>Someday when my children are old enough to understand the
>logic that motivates a parent, I will tell them:
>
>I loved you enough...to ask where you were going, with whom,
>and what time you would be home..
>
>I loved you enough...to insist that you save your money and
>buy a bike for yourself even though we could afford to buy
>one for you.
>
>I loved you enough...to be silent and let you discover that
>your new best friend was a creep.
>
>I loved you enough...to make you go pay for the bubble gum
>you had taken and tell the clerk, "I stole this yesterday
>and want to pay for it."
>
>I loved you enough...to stand over you for two hours while you
>cleaned your room, a job that should have taken 15 minutes.
>
>I loved you enough...to let you see anger, disappointment, and
>tears in my eyes. Children must learn that their parents aren't
>perfect.
>
>I loved you enough...to let you assume the responsibility for
>your actions, even when the penalties were so harsh they almost
>broke my heart.
>
>But most of all, I loved you enough...to say NO when I knew you
>would hate me for it. Those were the most difficult battles of
>all. I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too. And
>someday when your children are old enough to understand the logic
>that motivates parents, you will tell them....
>
>Was your Mom mean? I know mine was.
>We had the meanest mother in the whole world!
>While other kids ate candy for breakfast, we had to have cereal,
>eggs, and toast. When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch,
>we had to eat sandwiches. And you can guess our mother fixed us a
>dinner that was different from what other kids had, too.
>
>Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. You'd think
>we were convicts in a prison. She had to know who our friends were,
>and what we were doing with them. She insisted that if we said we
>would be gone for an hour, we would be gone for an hour or less.
>We were ashamed to admit it, but she had the nerve to break the
>Child Labor Laws by making us work. We had to wash the dishes, make
>the beds, learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry, empty the
>trash and all sorts of cruel jobs. I think she would lie awake at
>night thinking of more things for us to do.
>
>She always insisted on us telling the truth, the whole truth, and
>nothing but the truth.
>By the time we were teenagers, she could read our minds. Then, life
>was really tough!
