I travel about 200 miles a week so I constantly am aware of the traffic reports.  I do not understand why (especially today 4-2-08 in Grapevine) the picture of the car has to be shown on TV when it is a deadly accident.  Any  other time it doesn't matter to show the car - but when there is a death involved - why does there need to be comments about how the driver went into the windshield, was ejected and was killed.  I'm assuming the family has already been contacted.  Sitting at home and seeing the car on TV and knowing it was my husbands car would certainly upset me if thats how I found out he had been killed.  Just my opinion.

It's all for the rubberneckers that could'nt make it to the party. Two things facinate and sell to people. Sex and death. Sorry, that's just the way people are. You were expecting civilized??? 200 miles a week?, try 200 miles a day. Me?, 2007 Chevrolet, 71,455 miles, just in the Dallas area. Enjoy the Dallas traffic my friend!

Thanks for the post gardnerdl1. You bring up very good points regarding the fatal crash on Tuesday in Grapevine. Here's the thinking regarding details surrounding the crash: The main thing we need to do is tell what happened and show what kind of effect the wreck has on that road or roads. Runaround makes the point that people watch because of the facination effect and I can't say that there aren't a lot of folks that do watch for that reason. Here's why I went into such detail in this situation: If the driver wasn't going so fast, then they would be alive today! In this instance, a sobering picture like that can ultimately have a positive effect on individuals at home watching who might think twice the next time they're on the road. Thanks again for your comments.
