To all of you who are of Irish heritage ( and that stronly includes me as my grandmother and grandfather both were born and raised in Ireland)--so a toast of good fortune to all of you on St. Patrick's Day.  And enjoy the good eats and drink of the day.

When Irish eyes are smiling, that usually means they are up to something. Have a Happy St Paddy's Day!

Well, actually, while my maternial grandmother and grandfather were both born and raised in Ireland and came here around 1905, my paternal grandparents are a mix of English and German. So, I am not 100%--but I guess it would be 50%. I am proud of who my grandparents were--my grandmother learned to play many musical instruments growing up in Ireland, and she played the harp for several west coast symphonies, my grandfather was an engineer, educated in Ireland and after working as a civil engineer for many years, ended up teaching engineering at Stanford.

It seems as though just about everyone in America is part Irish! Many came to America as endentured servants (willing slaves), working their way to a chance at the American Dream!

Remember the fighting spirit of the Irish immigrants when the good name "immigrant" continues to be sullied by those who come to our country with impure intentions!
