Okay, not everything!  So.......I got to thinking lately about a comment I made on one of Gorbash's blogs. "What happens in our Past, Shapes our Future". Then I got to thinking about a book that came out years ago titled, "Everything I Know, I Learned in Kindergarten".  As many Baby Boomers, I grew up in the 50's and 60's watching lots of TV. My family got our first TV when I was 5 years old. I started watching The Mickey Mouse Club and was memserized!  I have noticed in my life, that a lot of lessons I have learned have come from TV Shows. Here are some of the lessons I have learned. Please feel free to share yours. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, but I know you will all refresh my memory!

I LOVE LUCY - Never try to bake your own bread, or make your own wine.    Too much chocolate is not a good thing.  Always weigh 15 pounds LESS than your best friend. When all else fails - CRY!   (This is my all-time favorite show and I could probably list ten more lessons, but for the sake of brevity, I'll stop here!)

THE LITTLE RASCALS - You can NEVER have too many friends. You can have lots of fun even if you don't have lots of money.

THE 3 STOOGES - Never hire a cheap plumber.  Getting poked in the eye really hurts! Same goes for getting hit with a hammer. Far-fetched schemes always backfire.

THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES -  Never forget your "roots" and where you came from.

LEAVE IT TO BEAVER - Beware of the "Wally's" of the world.

FATHER KNOWS BEST - Father may know best, but mom is ALWAY right!

THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW - Single parenting works if you have support from friends and family.

THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW - Variety is the Spice of Life!

MUTUAL OF OMAHA'S "WILD KINGDOM" - Love and Respect the Natural World around us.

BONANZA - Families should always stick together.

WALT DISNEY - It's always nice to have some fantasy in our lives.

GREEN ACRES - You can take the girl out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the girl.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY - Life is much more interesting when you're different !

LAUGH-IN - Life is more fun when we can laugh a lot!

STAR TREK (The Original) - There is always hope that things will be better in the future.

Now, I'm sure I've forgotten some, so refresh my memory!

FOX News- People will watch and believe anything you say as long as there's flashy graphics, lights and sounds.

Election Results- People are sheep and will elect a brain dead dildo president not once, but TWICE!!!!

Don`t you think the same holds true today ? Our` youth are being raised by the TV set. And what are they mostly showing on TV ?.....`nuff said.

Thanks for reminding me about "Little House on the Prairie". I used to watch that all the time with my two daughters and we all loved it. Then before they went to bed every night, I would read them a chapter out of the Little House books.
It's funny that I watched so much TV as a kids, but I don't watch a lot of TV now. I have a few shows I like and I watch the News - that's about it.

GREAT blog girlscout! I especially like Little Rascals (my parents' generation were mostly poor and they had WAY more fun than we did!) and WILD KINGDOM - we SHOULD ALL take care of our BEAUTIFUL earth! and BONANZA (even tho in our family there's fights somewhere ALL the time...lol) and Disney and Laugh-In...cause laughter IS the BEST medicine! My own take on Beverly Hillbillies is "you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl!" I live in the city but LONG to go back to the country...so much MORE peaceful and the neighbors aren't SNOOTY!
casey I agree with your comments...all so true!

Very good GS, I like it.
Here's a couple more.

The Waltons...family values are becoming a lost art.

Mr Ed...my horse is smarter than your honor student....(should be a bumper sticker).

Laugh In....It doesn't have to be vulger to be funny.

Hee Haw...Ditto

Bewitched....never tick off your mother in law. Especially one of power (grin).

Yes, I loved The Walton's too! And Bewitched - couldn't have said it better myself! I guess I didn't think of that one because my mother-in-law was a kind, sweet, loving one!

We`re leaving out our` childhood cowboy heroes. Hoppy, Gene, Roy, The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Matt Dillon, just to name a few. When we were kids, everybody wanted to be a cowboy. They taught us that right always wins out in the end. THIS IS WHAT AMERICA STILL NEEDS !
Speaking of when we were kids," Happy Days " sure takes me back. The writers must have grown up in the 50s and 60s because it was pretty authentic.

I used to love Westerns when I was growing up - but I always cheered for the Indians! Before I even knew the history of our country, I knew the Indians were getting a "bum wrap".

I remember one old Indian in a movie saying ( with gestures ) " White man build-um big fire, sit-um way back. Indian build-um little fire, sit-em up close ".

My mother used to laugh at that movie. " Politics don`t make good bedfellows ". as the saying goes, but in our` country`s time of need, it`s an issue we should all be concerned with. - Have a good one, Shark !

LIFE is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, "WOW - WHAT A RIDE"!!!!!
