There is no place for immature namecalling in this forum. If namecalling is your final stance in an argument, please just exit the arguement. To many people( liberals AND conservatives alike) resort to namecalling when they are defeated.

Just as bad is people deleting responses from fellow bloggers.  If you believe you are supported by facts(which an opinion should be) , why delete comments of different viewpoints? Use facts for rebuttle or consent the debate without namecalling.

Please use arguments with substance with no personal attacks of character on other bloggers. It's better to follow these guidlines than lowering your self to the level of those that don't. Carry a logical trail of thought supported by facts and STOP the namecalling.

given2Christ, there are multiple things I like about this post. 1) the content. Name calling, unless done in fun, is uncalled for. But too many people give into it. 2) I like your name. 3) Your young, and seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders. 4) I completely agree with your profile description that if anyone is blessed with the means to do so, they are obligated to give to and help others ... but it's not the governments job to do so.

given2Christ, I couldn't agree more. The problem is whenever you have a public forum, such as this site, there are going to be those that use it to further their own agendas. Far too often that agenda is to spread hate. No matter what anyone writes, however bad or offensive it is, it will never be more than words on a computer screen. At that point you have a choice: you can further empower this person, give them the stage they are looking for by reacting to those words or you can use your most powerful weapon by ignoring them and taking away that stage. It always amazes me that more people don't realize this.

it's almost as ridiculous as making a blog asking adults to stop. lol

If an 18 year old can understand this concept, you would think someone twice...three times your age would have it down by now, huh?

NOT!

If you ever want to go there (namecalling), you're in the right place. These "adults" will gladly oblige you. But, if you're truly "given2christ", I think namecalling wouldn't be your first resort to a debate and if you're strong, it wouldn't be your last resort either.

Different viewpoints...fine. Namecalling and personal attacks...DELETE and shake the dust off your feet!

Txdawn is right...

Ignoring is a VERY powerful weapon! Tried and tested...

Not overly easy to do, but it sure works if you let it.

It you wait long enough, you'll eventually see the results of having ignored. Then, it's hilarious the depths some people will go through to get your "attention".

Hahahahaha!

The words in your post have been spoken over and over on this site without any results.

I guess it's just human nature in some that think what they say and think is beyond reproach.

When a person resorts to name calling and some really vulgar talk shows how insecure they really are, and have to do so to get the attention they crave.

(sorry didn't mean to sound like a shrink) lol

This is a losing battle...

Yep it is a losing battle. As others have said before, it's the anonymity of this and other sites that make people feel as though they have carte blanche to say whatever they please no matter how hateful it is. Since that isn't likely to change we have to accept the fact that we can't control other people's actions, only our own REactions to them.

It's the new wave, the world over.

If you don't know them, or understand them, hate them !

It's no wonder we have so many devastating and criminal things happening daily, we can't get along with ourselves, much less others !

given, I admire your stance, but must gently state that a thicker skin is needed if you want to be in here. There will be things said here that are simply rude all the way up to immoral and reprehensible...but that is what happens in public forums. Again, I understand and agree with your sentiment, but it's just not going to happen....

Onyx, I'm fourteen. I know, just idealistic teenager stuff. It's not like I don't have "thick skin" there are just certain petty and idiotic things people say that I feel I need to speak out against.
