I am almost in tears I wanted it to snow so bad today. I live in S. Arlington and all it did here was rain, geez rain, and more rain.
It's just not fair!!

Hello everyone,
I am just curious as to your thoughts on this subject. Channel 8 just reported during their 5:00 news that Hillary Clinton will be attending the funeral for the fallen police officer Sr. Cpl. Victor Lozada. My question is do you think it is appropriate for her to attend the funeral, since she already spent time at the hospital and gave her condolences to the family. I personally think it is inappropriate being so close to Tuesday's elections and what could be a sincere gesture may be taken as trying to rally sympathy votes. I understand he died during her motorcade but to me it would seem more appropriate for her to send a very nice floral arrangement with a personalized message in a card to the family.
No matter what her intentions are, you know after the service people will want to do a meet and greet with her, which takes away from the family and the honoree Sr. Cpl. Victor Lozada. Just wondering what everyone else thinks about this.
Have a great day!

I know it's a nuisance for the poor folks in S. Africa but it is so funny looking at this video to see how smart these critters are.

Okay, I just saw a report for Arlington that two teenage boys (look to be around 14-16) in the middle of the night alone out trying to body surf/swim in the currents. A passing car called the Police to report them. Fortunately, they came out alive and of course here comes mother in her car after being called by her son, which indicates to me that they weren't close to home, crying and boo hooing. One child had to be treated at the ER for a breathing problem.
Why, Why, Why are these children outside at night or day, alone and allowed to just run wild like this and the parents not know where they are. I see now how so many children end up missing or abused by strangers because of careless parents. I don't care whether 0-17 if they are under your roof you should be watching them. Very young children and teens may seem smart enough to know better but in certain situations they are not always capable of making the right decision, that is why God gave them parents. Geez!

I wish the Fire Departments and Police Departments would start ticketing and charging people who make dumb decisions to put not only themselves but the rescuers at risk that saves them. It is a shame to see people who go out to rising creeks during the storms to look at the water (whether adults or sometimes unfortunate unsupervised children) or the ones who think just because they own a truck, SUV, or passenger cars they can drive through these flood waters because they are either too lazy or in a big hurry, to usually go nowhere, that they can't go an extra mile or less to a safer route to go nowhere, but instead they choose to drive through flood waters that are above their tires or higher. Just dumb, dumb, and dumber. I say for each unnecessary (meaning the dumb, dumb, and dumber folks) water rescue these folks need to be charged a service fee for the rescue services and the police need to ticket them for one putting themselves and others at risk and also for the towing of the car that is left behind.

On this very sad day of the shootings at VT, I think it is very morbid of the news medias to not only show a cell phone video of the actual shooting happening but to also show photos of students who were shot! To me I think it is disheartening how the news media feel that good reporting is showing the injured and the chaos as it happens. I just feel that todays news stations steps way over the line of glorifying violence.
My heart goes out to the families who were watching the news and had to see their sons or daughters fate on TV before being properly notified.
