Once upon a time, on a farm in Virginia , there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat.
She called all of her Democrat neighbors together and said, 'If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?'
'Not I,' said the cow.
'Not I,' said the duck.
'Not I,' said the pig.
'Not I,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did. The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.
'Who will help me reap my wheat?' asked the little red hen.
'Not I,' said the duck.
'Out of my classification,' said the pig.
'I 'd lose my seniority,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my unemployment compensation,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen, and so she did.
At last it came time to bake the bread.
'Who will help me bake the bread?' asked the little red hen.
'That would be overtime for me,' said the cow.
'I'd lose my welfare benefits,' said the duck.
'I'm a dropout and never learned how,' said the pig.
'If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination,' said the goose.
'Then I will do it by myself,' said the little red hen.
She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, 'No, I shall eat all five loaves.'
'Excess profits!' cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi)
'Capitalist leech!' screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)
'I demand equal rights!' yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson)
The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)
And they all painted 'Unfair!' picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.
Then the Farmer Obama came. He said to the little red hen, 'You must not be so greedy.'
'But I earned the bread,' said the little red hen.
'Exactly,' said Barack the farmer. 'That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle.'
And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, 'I am grateful, for now I truly understand.'
But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the 'party' and got her bread free.
And all the Democrats smiled. 'Fairness' had been established.
Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared...so long as there was free bread that 'the rich' were paying for.
EPILOGUE
Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs.
Hillary got $8 million for hers.
That's $20 million for the memories from two people, who for eight years, repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn't remember anything.
IS THIS A GREAT BARNYARD OR WHAT?

When I was in sixth grade a new family moved in to the house next door to ours. It turns out they had a son exactly my age who shared a lot of the same interests. We spent a lot of time together that summer and developed what I thought was a pretty good friendship. Then school started. Once my new 'friend' started getting acquainted with other kids in our grade, we didn't hang out as much which was fine by me. We both needed more than one friend.
One day I was called out of class and into the principal's office. It turns out that one of the teachers was walking down the hall and saw that the entire contents of my locker were scattered all over the floor. I told the principal I didn't know how it happened, but I was given a demerit anyway. (Yes, students actually got in trouble back then.) After assessing the demerit, he walked me down the hall to clean up the mess. When I opened my locker I discovered that it had been filled with underwear, bras, panties and condoms. I was so embarrassed.
After investigating the incident, it was revealed that my new 'friend' had done this to me on a dare from some other students who enjoyed picking, poking and generally being horses asses! Needless to say, he and I didn't spend a lot of time together after that.
Why am I telling this story? Well, a peculiar thing has been happening over the last few days. It seems that Vladimir Putin (you know, the one that President Bush called a "good man") decided he wanted to flex a little muscle and used the occassion of Georgia (the country, not the state) trying to squash an illegal resistance movement in their own country to do it.
So, the Put-ster loaded up a couple of tank divisions, a fighter wing or two and 50,000 men or so and took a little road trip into the sovreign territory of Georgia. After killing some innocent civilians, destroying buildings and roads and nearly destroying a great big oil pipeline, he said he was going to "pull back" and honor a cease fire brokered by, of all people, the French President.
(...meanwhile in Beijing, President Bush is playing beach volleyball with girls in bikinis...)
But, it seems now that Vlad and the boys didn't exactly do what the said they'd do. No, they're still there in Georgia causing trouble, destroying roads, killing innocents and sucking up Georgian territory like it was the Oklahoma land rush!
(...meanwhile in Beijing, President Bush is taking batting practice with girls in tight pants...)
Back in 2003 when the US was trying to get the world behind it in finally getting rid of Saddam Hussein, we had very few nations willing to take the risk. But, one of the ones that did was -- you guessed it -- Georgia. A very small nation with a very small army committed troops to the cause because it was the right thing to do. They did it because they are an allie to the US in the War on Terrorism. Fitting, since the Georgian people spent the better part of 50 years being terrorized by Soviet dictators in Moscow.
(...meanwhile in Beijing, President Bush is sharing a brewsky President Hu of China and watching a bunch of millionaires play basketball...)
Enter Condoleeza Rice. Now that the first cease fire has failed to cease the firing, Dr. Rice in over in Georgia trying to convince the Georgians to accept a new cease fire. That's right, she and five other "diplomats" around the world have come up with a great plan to save Georgia from the invasion. All they have to do is agree to let Russian troops stay in Georgia as long as the want and give them carte blanche to do whatever they want whenever they want to do it.
WOW!! What a great plan.....errrr, wait....isn't that what is already happening? Maybe Condi should find a piano, sit down and play the Georgians a tune or two. I hear there's nothing like a little Tchaikovski or Rachmaninov to make you forget that your country has been invaded by the Russian army led by a former KGB agent. And, who doesn't love a little Chopin to help you ease into acceptance of a foreign power controlling your home?
(...meanwhile, in Beijing, President Bush is watching young men in Speedos swim...)
As the Georgian people cry, "where is America?" we should all wonder the same thing! Where is America when one of the few allies we still have is being invaded? Where is America when innocent civilians are being killed? Where is America?
Ummm...excuse me, could you folks pipe down over there? We are busy watching the Olympics right now. But, don't worry, we've got a plan -- just accept it. Like Clayton Williams once said, "you can't do anything about it, so you may as well lay back and enjoy it".
In the great tradition of Neville Chamberline, the United States is apparently prepared to accept this unlawful invasion with only a figner wag to offer as resistence. We can't stop it, so we just as well accept it, right?
I voted for George W. Bush twice -- proudly. And, if I thought either Al Gore or John Kerry could have done better, I'd probably go back and vote for them if I could. But, to my shagrin, I'm not sure there is a leader present in the US that could or would. We no longer have the stomach to do what is right in this country. We are a nation of quitters. If we weren't a nation of quitters our troops would already be home from Bosnia, Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq. We've just got better things to do than the right thing.
(...and, meanwhile, in Washington, President Bush is taking a nap to recover from jet lag brought on by his busy summer vacation...shhh, do not disturb please...)

Pfc. Michael Blaylock (USMC Reserve) of Tyler has worked for Home Depot in Tyler for a while now. Late last year he was deployed to Iraq with his Marine Reserve unit. Here's where the story gets good...
Home Depot informed Pfc. Blaylock that while he was in Iraq THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO PAY HIM A PORTION OF HIS SALARY! And, they did. He returned from Iraq last week and discovered that as true to their word as they were about his salary, they also kept their word and gave him his job back, with the same pay and benefits he had before leaving.
Now, THAT is a great story and that's the way it should be!! Ask me where I'll be making all of my hardware purchases from now on...
WAY TO GO
HOME DEPOT!!!

This isn't really current news, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless....after all these years...
KUSA - 9NEWS has learned that newly discovered DNA evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey murder case does not match any Ramsey family members or anyone in law enforcement DNA databases.
The recent testing was done on a different area of the child's clothing and it matches previous DNA tested from the child's panties in 1997. It is DNA from a male.
The discovery, from a new testing method, has prompted the Boulder District Attorney's office to release a letter officially clearing the Ramsey family, including John, Patsy and their immediate family of any involvement in the December 1996 death of the 6-year-old.
District Attorney Mary Lacy met with John Ramsey and his defense attorneys, Bryan Morgan and Hal Haddon, on Wednesday morning to formally deliver the letter clearing the family of any involvement. (Click here to view the letter.)
The letter reads in part:
"We intend in the future to treat you as the victims of this crime, with the sympathy due you because of the horrific loss you suffered."
Lacy based her decision, according to the letter, on the results of new DNA samples secured and tested at the The Bode Technology Group Inc., in Lorton, Va. The new DNA "touch" analysis technology was not available in 1996 when the child was killed.
After meeting with Lacy, Ramsey did an exclusive interview with 9NEWS Investigative Reporter Paula Woodward.
In the interview he said, "The most significant thing to me was the fact that we now have pretty irrefutable DNA evidence according to the DA's office. Certainly we are grateful that they acknowledge that we, based on that, certainly could not have been involved. But the most important thing is that we now have very, very solid evidence and that's always been my hope, at least in the recent past, that that would lead us to the killer eventually as the DNA database grows and is populated."
JonBenet Ramsey's body was found in the family home in Boulder on December 26, 1996. Her father found her body in a rarely used room in the basement of the home.
According to Boulder Police reports, the family got up early on the morning of December 26 to fly to Charlevoix, Mich. to visit family.
JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, found a ransom note (Click here to see the ransom note) at the bottom of a spiral staircase about 5:30 or 6 that morning. Police were called, and searched the home, but the child's body wasn't found until another search of the home was done five hours later by John Ramsey.
In April of 1997, Boulder County District Attorney Alex Hunter declared the family under an "umbrella of suspicion" for the murder.
During his exclusive interview with 9NEWS, Ramsey went on to say, "It's hard for people to accept that someone could some into a home and murder a child from their bed. We were perhaps an answer. It became an entertainment event for the media sadly. It boosted ratings, attracted viewers to develop that controversy. But sadly there's 2,000 children murdered in our country every year. For some reason this became a very public event."
Nine years after the murder, Patsy Ramsey died in June of 2006 after a 13-year battle with ovarian cancer.
New Evidence
The new DNA "touch" analysis tests were run on the leggings that went over the child's panties.
Boulder DA investigators and Lacy made the decision late last year to have the leggings tested at the Bode Lab. It is not clear if the leggings had been previously tested for DNA.
Boulder DA investigators considered the possibility that since the child was sexually assaulted, and was undressed and redressed, there was a possibility the perpetrator left skin cell samples. They believe that could have happened when he first pulled JonBenet's leggings down and then later back up. Investigators wanted to test to see whether DNA skin cells might be found in the waistband of the leggings.
The Bode Lab recovered DNA from the top portion of the leggings, on both the right and left legs, where the perpetrator would have put his hands to move the leggings. Those new DNA "touch" samples from the leggings match the DNA that was found in 1997 on the panties of the child.
The new DNA "touch" testing technology from the Bode Lab tests for DNA in cells left behind from the act of touching a person's clothing. (Bode Lab) At the time of JonBenet's death, technology for DNA testing on the child's panties used "swabs" from fluid obtained from skin and clothing to establish DNA identity.
The previous 1997 DNA "swab" testing of the child's panties found DNA in two separate areas. DNA was found mixed with fluid from the little girl. The 1997, DNA contained enough information or DNA markers to be entered into the federal DNA database called CODIS.
The new "touch" DNA from JonBenet Ramsey has been compared with what exists in CODIS, but no match has been found.
CODIS includes strict guidelines for what can be entered into its system. There has to be a minimum of information or DNA markers before CODIS will accept the samples into its system. The original 1997 DNA passed CODIS requirements and is in the federal CODIS data base. It was entered into CODIS in 2002.
CODIS contains DNA from local, state and national databases of DNA profiles from convicted offenders, unsolved crime scene evidence and missing persons.
Mandatory DNA testing varies widely from state to state. In Colorado, legislation was introduced mandating any felon arrested of a crime to be tested for DNA, so it can be entered into the CODIS data base. (Mandatory DNA testing laws in Colorado)
Both the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Denver Police were involved in the analysis of the new DNA.
Lacy's letter also stated:
"Solving this crime remains our goal, and its ultimate resolution will depend on more than just matching DNA. However, given the history of the publicity surrounding this case, I believe it is important and appropriate to provide you with our opinion that your family was not responsible for this crime."
"There is now one step left in finding the killer of the little girl." A source close to the investigation told 9NEWS. "And that's to match the DNA to the right person."

...just who's running this asylum anyway??
We seem to be having a lot of trouble with food the past few years, don't we? Back in 2006 there was the eColi spinach scare and now we have Salmonella tomatoes...or wait, maybe it's peppers...but, in truth we really don't know what's causing it.
It has got me thinking, though -- what exactly are we doing in this country? We have farms in all 50 states and each of our territories. This country spreads some 3,000+ miles across the North American continent. We grow wheat, corn, soybeans, fruits, vegetables...just about everything you could possibly want to eat...and yet, we import FOOD??
Seriously, think about it. We here in the U.S. have the capacity to produce enough food to basically feed ourselves and the rest of the world. However, our government in all it's glorious wisdom pays farmers NOT to grow certain crops for various reasons and we import food. Let me say that again...
WE....THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...IMPORT FOOD!
For goodness sake, why?
Why in the world are we paying farmers NOT to farm and then IMPORTING FOOD?!?! Sometimes I wonder if our government is TRYING to destroy this country. I can't stop asking the question -- why are we importing FOOD of all things??
We already import most of our oil and we see where that's landed us. We import cars, we import clothes, we import toys (ie China's leaded variety)...but, food? Mind you, I'm not an isolationist. I recognize the fact that we live in a global economy and imports are not always bad things and are sometimes necessary. But, FOOD?
We do this and then we wonder why we have the problems we are having with tainted food. We are importing this food from countries that do not have the close monitoring and regulation of the production and distribution of food products. OF COURSE we're going to have problems. It shouldn't come as any surprise.
We really need to get some stuff straightened out in this country or we're going to be in a lot more trouble than we're already in. Importing oil...I don't like it, but ok other countries are producing more than we do. Importing food? NO EXCUSE!!!

Happy belated Independence Day, everyone! I hope you all had a safe and festive celebration.
I found myself skimming through the blogs this evening just to see what people were talking about these days. (I don't get in here much anymore.) And, I found it was the typical stuff -- gritching and moaning about the Dallas City Council, animal sycophants blubbering on about some travesty that occurred to one of our helpless four-legged friends, jazz singers taking liberties with the National Anthm, Gurkha yammering on about right wing "neocons" although he obviously doesn't know the real meaning of that word -- so, you know, the usual.
But, then....oh, yes then I found it. The Holy Grail of Hatred, Ignorance and Misinformation. Yes, firmly ensconced amongst the whining and carrying on about the posting of inappropriate pictures and the Fox4 Blog Brown Shirts was yet another copied and pasted piece of blather about why homosexuals are going to be the ruin of this nation and the world.
Ahhhhhhh....I knew it had to be there somewhere!!
It has truly become almost laughable the lengths to which some will go to continue a bitter and biggoted rampage against a group of people they find so repulsive and sickening. I boggles the mind as to why an otherwise sane person would spend so much time talking about a group of people said person would just as soon see anihilated. But, then there's a lot about people that is boggling these days. Go figure. There are people I find utterly intolerable, but rather than spend every waking hour contemplating their demise, I simply refuse to justify their exhistence with even the briefest thought. After all, people only have as much power over us as we grant them.
But, since this most enlightened of human beings chose to copy and paste another piece concerning the coming Homosexual Coups d'Etat, I feel it necessary to counter the typically histrionic blather with a few "arguments" of my own. (Please do note: I allow all comments on my posts without prior approval whether they affirm my position or not; unless, of course, they are gramatically lacking and then I delete them because I won't stand for the English language to be ripped apart on my watch.) This is, after all, the United States of America and at last glance The Constitution does still guarantee Freedom of Speech.
A common argument amongst the anti-equality crowd is that allowing homosexual "marriage" or unions to be recognized will somehow tear at the fabric of our country and serve to destabalize the "family" in America. Coming from a two parent home myself, I can honestly say that my sexuality has not destabalized us in the least. I suppose we are as stable as the next family. But, I know that not everyone enjoys the blessing of parents who are still married like I do, so I did a little research of my own into just how stable the "American Family" is these days.
I first went to the United States Census Bureau (www.census.gov), but was redirected the the National Center for Health Statistics (part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to gather the most recent data on divorce in the U.S. (www.cdc.gov/nchs) According to the NCHS the marriage rate in the U.S. for 2004 (the last year where data are available) was 7.5 per 1,000 total population (or about 2,230,000 marriages). In that same year the divorce rate was 3.6 per 1,000 total population (or about 1,159,600 divorces). That amounts to approximately 48% of marriages ending in divorce. However, these statistics were only using data provided to the NCHS from 46 states and the District of Columbia. When you factor in the remaining four states (one of which is California, the most populous state) the percentage is more likely around 50 or slightly above. Either way, it is still true that half of all marriages in the United States end in divorce. (Remember, in 2004 no states allowed gay couple to be married.)
I then wanted to satisfy my curiosity about domestic violence in the United States. Because many people (women and men alike) feel a great deal of shame as victims of domestic violence or spousal abuse, and because of that shame never report the abuse, it is difficult to get accurate statistics on both. However, according to the American Bar Association (www.abanet.org) somewhere between 22 and 29% of women in the US have been victims of domestic violence or spousal abuse and an estimated 10% of American men are victims. If those statistics are correct (and they may indeed be low) approximated one in four women in the US are victims and about one in ten men. That is absolutely staggering to me.
What then, do we do with the argument that allowing gay marriage is somehow going to "destabalize" the American Family? Reading what I read this evening during my research I'd say that the American Family is already considerably wobbly even without the help of homosexuals. After all, if you get married in the United States right now it's pretty well a BLEEP shoot whether or not you'll stay even stay married! And, if you are lucky enough to hand on to the golden band then a quarter of you women had better learn the fine art of "duck and cover"! No, I don't think the good old Cleavers need much more help from me to be "unstable".
There is also, of course, that timeless argument that, well, homosexuality is just plain immoral. I find it ironic that the immorality argument is not also extended to marital infidelity. In the United States, 17% of divorces where a fault was listed were granted on the grounds of infidelity by one of the marital partners. However, many states (like Texas) grant what are often referred to as "No-Fault Divorces" where no reason need be given in order for a marriage to be dissolved. Because of this, the statistic is almost surely higher than 17%. I assume then that because the "immoral" argument is not extended to infidelity that it is no longer considered immoral to cheat on your spouse? Interesting.
This argument also dovetails nicely with the "Biblical" argument. As interesting and hard to believe as it may be, Jesus himself never addressed the issue of homosexuality. While it is true that many people will refer to Matthew 19:4-5 (He said in reply, "Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate.") as an argument that Jesus DID, in fact address homosexuality, this is simply not the case. A careful reading of the opening of verse 4 will find the words "He said in reply". So, what exactly was Jesus replying to? If we read Matthew 19:3 we find our answer: "Some Pharisees approached him, and tested him, saying, 'Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause whatever?'" What Jesus was replying to was not a question about homosexuality, but rather a question about divorce! Further, his condemnation was not of homosexuality, but of divorce!
Reading forward in Matthew 19, we find where Jesus asserts that "whomever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) and marries another commits adultery". While the question of homosexuality is supposedly addressed in Leviticus, Romans and I Corinthians (although many linguistic and Biblical scholars don't accept this premise), Jesus himself never addressed the issue. But, he was careful to condemn divorce and marital infidelity.
As for the assertion that homosexuals "can not" truly be Christians -- let me share with you what I believe: I believe in One God, the Heavenly Father. I believe that Jesus Christ was His Son; that He was conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit; that He was born of the same. I believe that He lived as fully man and fully God on Earth. I believe that He publicly ministered to sick and healthy, rich and poor, young and old alike. I believe that He was brought before Pontius Pilate, accused, convicted and crucified. I believe that He died and was buried. I believe that on the third day after His burial He was ressurected from the dead and that He appeared to His disciples. I believe that He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe that He has sent us His Holy Spirit to empower us on our jouney in life and I believe that one day He will return to this Earth to judge the living and the dead alike. This is what I believe. Am I a Christian? Who is the judge of my heart?
Personally, I don't care whether or not gay people are ever allowed to marry legally. I know in my heart to whom I have devoted my love and care and a piece of paper is not necessary to boulster that love. I do, however, care that in this country we live by the creed that "All men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." I know that it would make life more full for some to marry. I know that for some the pursuit of happiness includes a wedding and the recognition of that union. I know that if we truly have liberty in this nation that the government should not be involved in any way, shape, form or fashion in denying rights to its citizens.
Lastly, to judge an entire group by the actions of a few is tanamount to folly! It's been quite some time since I have attended a "Pride Parade", mostly because they take place in the summer time and I really can't stand being in the heat that long. But, I've seen my share and believe me when I tell you that there have been instances where I haven't been very "proud" of what I saw on display. But, surely we have all had those moments. For instance, if I were straight I wouldn't be very proud of the fact that someone admits to having had sexual relations with a married woman or having divorced the mother of their children. But, that's just me.
Hate must be so exhausting. We're all entitled to our views and opinions. We're all entitled to our various definitions of morality and virtue. But, we are most certainly not all entitled to oppress other humans simply based on our own biases and prejudices. We fought a couple of wars over that, did we not?
No one has hurt you. No one is going to. Let it go, man. Let it go!!

It's rampant and I hate it!
This butchering of the English language called LEET or l33t speech is ridiculous. The need to abreve8 words that don't need to be abbreviated and purposely misspell words drives me nuts.
Obviously I can't stop you from doing it on your own posts, but I can stop it on mine. If I see ANYTHING resembling this BLEEP in replies to my post it will be immediately del33td.
So, if you reply to my posts anymore don't use stupid BLEEP like "azz" and "pizz"....if it's a word that's gonna get BLEEPED by the blog Nazis at Fox4 then let it get BL33PD. But, don't you dare misp3ll it.

I was just reading the article that Lost_Hwy copied and pasted here about gay adoption earlier. I suppose it was today, I don't really know and it doesn't really matter. I have a question.
Just exactly where would you have us queers go?
You don't want us to be able to legally marry. You don't want us to be able to adopt children. Truth be told you probably don't want us teaching school or working with children in any capacity. After all, we are more prone to sexual molestation of children. Right?
Oh, yeah. One more thing. I live out in a little town called Grand Saline. You might have heard of it. It's about 13 miles west of Mineola on Highway 80. Surely you know Mineola, yes? That's the town where all of those heterosexual people gathered up a bunch of kids, fed them narcotics and then raped them. There wasn't a BLEEP among that bunch, Lost.
Mind you, I'm not offended by your paste. No, indeed. Ignorance saddens me far more than it offends me. And, your position and the position of people like you is just that -- ignorance. Add to that the arrogance you've saddled yourself with in thinking that you could not possibly be incorrect and, well, I just might bust out crying any minute.
Now, I'm serious. I really do want an answer to my question. I'm going to leave my comments on because I don't really care if people post personal info about me here. If they've got the stones to take me on, then by all means, let's throw down a while. I may be queer, but I'm country and I knew how to fight long before I ever kissed a boy.
Perhaps you'd be satisfied if we all just disappeared? Or maybe you'd prefer it if someone just disappearededed us? I'm just curious where you want us, Lost? Obviously not in YOUR AMERICA!
Oh yeah....before I forget....
Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

Long time, no see....
I purposely waited until after the midwest flooding story took a back burner on the nightly news to write this blog. I was curious how long it would take. Two weeks is about right for a news cycle these days. Unless, of course, you are a tragically flawed celebrity and then you are a headline in perpetuity.
My question is this -- where is all of the whining and pining for the midwest that there was for New Orleans? Where are Geraldo Rivera and Anderson Cooper standing on the banks of the Mississippi River crying at the devestation? Because, you all realize that the flooding in the midwest caused far more devestation and on a wider scale than did Hurricane Katrina -- don't you?
What's the difference? Why are there not telathons on every cable channel available to raise money for the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of people who have been displaced by the flooding? Who is going to stand up and rail that George W. Bush "hates farmers" the same way he "hates black people" -- thank you Kanye West!?
The difference is simple. The people of the midwest, unlike the people of New Orleans, do not rely on the government for their very existence. They do not suck dry the public coffers for their daily survival. They do not share a belief that someone owes them something. And, so, when tragedy strikes and when their livelihood is destroys as theirs has been by these floods, they do not go running to the media to whine about how the government abandoned them. They do not resort to begging on the steps of the White House or the US Captiol Building for a debit card that will allow them to purchase porn or booze while they are housed in a luxury hotel on the taxpayer's dime.
No, indeed. You will not hear any of that from these people. In fact, what most of them would probably request of the government is to simply stay out of the way and let them rebuild. They will rely on their churches and neighbors for assistance that will be repaid. They will "cling to their faith" to keep them sustained during this hardship, thank you Barak Obama. But, mostly they will rely on what got them where they are in the first place -- the sweat of their brow. Three years from now you will not see them as witnesses on a congressional panel investigating how President Bush ruined their lives. No -- you will find them tending to their crops, their families and their lives. Because that is who they are.
And, that is the difference.

This is gonna be short and to the point...
I was sick today and stayed home from work -- BIG MISTAKE!
I didn't realize it was "Earth Day" until I discovered that every single morning show -- INCLUDING ESPN -- were talking about being "Green". Sweet God in Heaven!!!! Everywhere I turned it was green this and green that. *SIGH*
Then around 10 this morning I was flipping through the channels during one of my breaks from being in the bathroom and I happened across that vaccuous mess of a show called "The View". The normal View Chicks had some Enviro-Chick on there talking about ways that "working moms" could help save the environment. What follows is so unbelievably inane that if I hadn't heard it with my own ears I wouldn't believe it.
She said that moms shouldn't use antibacterial disinfectants on their kids hands because, "some toddlers have actually come to ER's DRUNK from the alcohol in them." WHAT?? Surely I heard her wrong. So, I rewound the DVR a bit and listened again and sure enough that's what she said. And what's worse is that NO ONE -- not one of the regular View Chicks -- challenged her on it. *sigh again*
So, in honor of Earth Day, I went outside, started my Ford F350 4x4 diesel and just let it run for about an hour. I didn't go anywhere...I just sat in it with the A/C on and the radio blarring (noise pollution). Oh, and I rubbed a bunch of antibacterial disinfectant all over the hands of this kid that was walking by.
Happy Earth Day!
Don't be ignorant!

I don't come on this website much anymore because it's gotten boring! But, anyway I logged in here this morning while I was at work and saw all these posts about some other post with a gross pic in it or something. Well, I didn't think much about it and then my curiosity got the best of me and I went in search of the offending image. I just have one thing to say....
YUCK!!!!
I'm not sure who this illusions person is but he/she has little class and no taste. I can't believe the previously prudish Fox moderators who BLEEPED every word that even looked as though it might be profane have allowed it to remain. But, whatever...I couldn't care less.
That's my two cents...spend it wisely. (Homage to my FAVORITE Fox4 reporter. Heeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Steve! How you durrin gurl?)

So here's my request...
Would you people please stop posting articles written by other people that are 900 pages long so that I have to scroll down the page for 20 minutes before I get to an original blog? If you insist on copying and pasting other people's work, then at least edit it down or just provide a link.
Thanks!
Also -- please stop posting all those stupid emails you receive about how Barak Obama is a Muslim, Hillary is a lesbian, Marines are throwing dogs over cliffs and all the myriad other inane stupidity that some of you people insist on posting here? I promise you, I have it on good authority, if you fail to forward it or post it here, God will not think any less of you and Jesus will still feel just as much like the Lord as he did before your brother-in-law sent the email. He's fine if you don't send it to seven of your closest friends in the next seven minutes. Oh, and by the way, if you DO send it on, you're not going to get some kind of wonderful blessing. So...just don't.
Thanks!
Also -- to all you animal lovers out there -- nobody gives a BLEEP about your dogs illness and how much the vet bills are. And, it's none of your business if someone leaves their dog in the car and it dies of heat stroke. That's not (or shouldn't be) a crime. What I do with my dog is my business. So, just take your bleeding heart some place else.
Thanks!
Also -- before some one of you fools posts some email about boycotting certain gas stations on certain days -- just don't! We've been over it and over it. It won't work and will never happen. So, spare us all. Boycott Shell if you want to. It will just mean I don't have to wait as long in line.
Thanks!
Hope y'all are all having a great weekend. Mine's been spectacular! I bought new furniture and it looks FABULOUS!!
Merry Christmas!
