Well, well, well...BellaCHEAT and the Patsyots finally have their hats handed to them...and OH OH OH HOW SWEET IT IS!  I couldn't be happier at this moment in time.  Rest assured Patsyots fans, this season will never be remembered at the team that won 18 games in a single season...oh, no...they will ALWAYS be remembered as the team that couldn't close the deal.

ALL HAIL THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS!

See you in Senator Specter's office BellaCHEAT!

I have 3 words for all you Cowboy haters (and one in particular)...

Cowboys 37

Packers 27

Looks like the road to the NFC Championship now goes through Dallas!

How 'bout them Cowboys???

There have been an awful lot of "games of the year" in the NFL this year, don't you think?

With all of the teams who have stepped up to become real contenders it has certainly made for an interesting season.  Clearly, New England is the best team in the NFL.  Nevermind that they were accused of and fined for "cheating" early on.  They remain the team to beat.  Slightly below the Pat's you find Dallas, Green Bay and Indianapolis to round out what will be, barring any last minute meltdowns, the four teams competing for their respective conference championships.  And, so far, between these four teams we've had two "games of the year".

First was Dallas versus New England, which some believe to be a Super Bowl preview.  Despite the scoreboard, Dallas didn't meltdown in that game until the fourth quarter when stupid mistakes cost them precious time and yardage on penalties.  Until then, the game was not that lop-sided.  Next was New England versus Indianapolis, which was in all likelihood a preview of the AFC Championship.  Again, the game was closer than the final score suggested with the Pat's gaining the clear upper hand late in the game.

This coming Thursday is surely the NFC game to watch.  The Green Bay Packers, who are playing better football than they've played in several seasons, led by the amazingly talented Brett Favre who is having a career season will come to Dallas.  Favre has not fared well against the Cowboys during his career and has NEVER won at Texas Stadium.  But, none of those games -- not even the playoff games in the 90's -- had the mystique that has been attached to Thursday's contest.

Both Dallas and Green Bay enter Thursday with 11-1 records.  Tony Romo is also having an incredible season as he is poised to break Danny White's record of 29 touchdown passes in a single season.  Romo continues to prove week after week that though he may not yet be a Brett Favre, he is clearly on his way to becoming a great quarterback.  In addition to Romo's impressive leadership, Dallas has multiple offensive weapons including Marion Barber (who I'm more impressed with every week), Julius Jones, Jason Whitten and, of course, Terrell Owens.  Couple this with an offensive line that rarely breaks and a defense that is one of the best in the league and you have a team that is without a doubt a contender.  I believe that Dallas will win Thursday's game and that it will not be as close as most have predicted.  I believe that most "experts" continually underrate Dallas...to their own detrement!

BUT......Dallas might lose!  This is a big game and both teams will come into it knowing that whomever comes out on top will be the NFC's top team -- at least statistically.  But, what does it mean IF Dallas loses this game?  For that matter what does it mean if Green Bay loses?  Will either team be out of playoff contention?  Certainly not!  Will either team be out of contention to win their division?  Certainly not!  Will either team be out of contention to ultimately win the Super Bowl?  Certainly not!

The fact of the matter is that IF Dallas loses on Thursday, the most it will mean is that their chances of having "home field advantage" throughout the playoffs is in jeopardy.  It doesn't mean that Dallas is not a good team.  It doesn't mean that Tony Romo is over paid or that Wade Philips needs to go.  It means that Dallas' record will be 11-2 and still one of the top teams in the league.

Is Thursday's game important?  UNQUESTIONABLY!!  Does Dallas need this win?  Without a doubt!  But, if Dallas should happen to lose to Green Bay the world will not end.  The Cowboys will continue on like they did after New England.  You can bet that Friday morning will begin the chorus of "see, I told you so's" from rank and file Cowboy haters who don't care who wins as long as Dallas loses.  You will hear broadcasters across the board thumping their chests about how they were right when they said Tony Romo couldn't handle the "big game".

Mind you, it will be meaningless boasting -- all of it.  A Cowboys loss on Thursday will not be indicative of anything more than playing a sub-par game against a powerful quarterback caple of putting serious points on the board.  Dallas will still be the better TEAM.

I welcome your comments...all of them.  But, be warned -- if you choose to post comments that have nothing to do with THIS POST they will be deleted.  If you disagree with me GREAT!  Let's talk about it.  But, this post is not about Jerry Jones, the new stadium, Tom Landry, Tex Schram or any other of the myriad boondoggles that I've seen on Cowboys posts.  You know who you are...so don't do it.  And, for those of you who know who I'm referring to, please do not comment back to him or I will have to delete you, too.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Well, well, well...

Well, well, well...

Well...........well..............well.........p>

What happened Doocy?  Huh?  I thought the Cowboys were gonna lose this one?  I thought they had not played a real team yet?  What happened?

In case you missed it Doocy......

Cowboys 31

Giants      20

Are you ready to give the Cowboys the credit you've denied them all year?  You tool!  Somehow, I doubt it.  This win will no doubt, in your mind, be the result of Eli Manning's complete mismanagement of the second half or the Giants defense's inability to stop Tony Romo and the explosive Dallas offense.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that Dallas is the real deal despite what you want to believe.  Give it up Doocy.  You're no Dale Hansen.  You are the NY Giants of Metroplex sports reporters.  You start strong, but always fizzle!

One more time?

Well.....well.....well......

Dallas       31

New York  20

Oh my goodness...

Here we are with 29 seconds left in the game and Adrian Peterson, Little Maxi-pad Morgan and Mike BLEEP's hero, has only managed 63 yards against the Cowboys.  I'm sorry boys, I know you were hoping that Dallas would not be able to stop the little man.  But, they did.

Now, I'm curious - Dallas has the bye week next week.  Will Maxi-pad and BLEEP write blogs about how Dallas had better be careful and not lose in the bye week?  I know that Maxi-pad and BLEEP want so badly for the Cowboys to fall on their faces, but I wonder how STUPID the two of them can get?  No doubt...pretty damn stupid!

Go Cowboys!
