I guess I will never understand why God gives children to people who don't want them or care about them.  I know that it is not for me to question his will but, why????

These are babies that have done no harm to anyone, but, probably just give love to the only people or person who has done them wrong, just for them to get hurt.

Guns, Drugs in Filthy Home Where Children Were Abandoned
Dallas police have charged a man with two counts of child endangerment after they say he abandoned his 2- and 5-year-old children at their filthy home where there were guns, drugs and ammunition lying around.

Investigators said the house in the 3500 block of Holmes Street in South Dallas was covered with trash including razor blades and broken glass. A toilet was overflowing with human waste and water and electricity hadn't been turned on in several years.

Police said Gregory Amphy, 22, left guns, ammunition and drugs inside the home with the children.

"I couldn't do no kids like that, animal or nobody, that's sad," said one neighbor.

Other neighbors said they had never seen the kids playing outside.

When police arrested Amphy, he was reportedly agitated and banged his head several times on a police cruiser. He was taken to Parkland Hospital to be checked out before he was booked into jail.

Child Protective Services has custody of the two children.

Police have not been able to locate the children's mother.

Just more evidence of a society gone awry.

I don't understand it myself. It's sickening.

22 years old and not mature enough to take care of himself let along babies.

Wonder where the mother is.

I pray that CPS does right by them. I know that alot of children suffer while in foster care as well.

I am not passing judgement on anyone, just saying that all these babies need is to end up basically abandoned again by just being dumped into a home or shelter somewhere.

At this age, they need to be shown love and affection.

Just look at what part of town it was in. The city or CPS does not investigate on any issue in the ghetto. Why? They are afraid to get robbed or shot! I don't blame them, I don't drive no where near that area !

Now where are all those people on here that write about making drugs legal? Guess they don’t want to see what can happen when people get hooked on drugs, or what happens to their children.

The story breaks my heart too. Thank God they were found before we heard "bodies of two children....". It is obvious this man nor the mother of the children have a shred of care for the well being of their children. Hopefully CPS will remove them for good and not release them to other family members, those kids need a clean break from that environment and I suspect that other family members knew what sort of conditions they were living in and did nothing.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing on the news. It had been Six years that they were living like that What and why did he not seek some sort assistance from someone. It would be better that way. I wonder where the Mother is. Houses like that should be allowed to be in that condition. You would think that there would have been some complaints before now. The stink, and the smell. I hope that them children came out alright. They didn't say much when they were reporting it on the news.

This story is so sad. From what i understand we are in need of more qualified foster homes because of the ever increasing cases of abuse.

acoolone, legal or illegal if someone is going to be addicted to friggin rat poison there's not much that can be done to stop them. draino anyone? it's pitiful

Channel 5 has a pic of him on their front page.

Huge lump on his forehead, police said he was banging his head against the car. Wonder if they aideded him in this process? They should have kicked the crap out of him and said he tripped over the garbage in his house.

Completely off topic...but I love your little character...crown and all..and indeed VERY SAD story....when I was a student nurse, part of our OB rotation was spent at Chicago Maternity Center in Chicago and we spent a week there. We went out with med students and interns from the University of Chicago R & E Hospital and delivered babies in the home...cost .50 if they could afford it and did I ever get my eyes opened as to how the truly POOR lived..pathetic..we were instruckted not to sit on the furniture (lice..bugs) nor drink out of any of the glasses and certainly we were told not to eat anything...if we needed to use the bathroom we were supposed to go to a gas station as the bathrooms were usually shared by the entire floor of the apt complex and they were very DIRTY..what an experience...drugs were not a problem then but oftentime several people shared a mattress on the floor..I grew up fairly poor but seeing some of those places I considered myself lucky and blessed!!!

Well, sadly, this is just one of many cases. I had to go with another staff member to do a "home visit" the other day. Basically, it was that we had to take a kid home who sprained an ankle, guardian was called, and guardian stated kid needed to just walk home, as he/she was at work and wouldn't be home til late. So, 2 staff drove the kid home (policy to be *2* staff).

I walked in JUST the front door of that house, and thought I was gonna puke. It wasn't full of garbage, it had very little for furnishings, it wasn't clean, but not filthy, and I am thinking it was pretty much like most houses in the area. But damn the stench!!!!

Thank God I don't have to go to student's homes much! But, the schools take homeless kids too, and this one DID have a home.........

I can understand your philosophy totally, dawn!

Illusionsssss - I too, had to make one of those home visits. I didn't get much past the front door, and just couldn't make myself go any further. I could still smell it for hours as it seems the smell got into my clothing. My car even had the faint smell the next morning. I cried on the way home from that one. I just couldn't believe that one of my students lived like that and made it to school everyday.

Luvmykids - I know three couples who have not been able to have children and it just breaks my heart to see them hunger for a child to love. Then we see this and I have to agree that I question why. I know I shouldn't question God's plan, but I just can't wrap my brain around it sometimes.
