Does anyone have any idea why the TV staions are now scheduling their shows longer with start and stop times off the hour?  Why are the idiots doing that? I refuse to watch any show that doesn't start and stop at a normal time. It seems they are all doing it now.  Wheel of Fortune for instance starts 3 minutes early.

From News One Hate crimes bill - a threat to biblical teaching Jim Brown - OneNewsNow - 1/12/2009 6:20:00 AMBookmark and Share

homosexualA Christian pastor and political activist warns that unless enough Americans "stir up a major stink" about the newly introduced federal hate crimes legislation, the measure is likely to pass in the first 100 days of the 111th Congress.

Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., of the High Impact Leadership Coalition was among a group of black pastors who, two years ago, took out a full-page ad in USA Today titled "Don't Muzzle Our Pulpits." The ad, which was widely received, argued that the hate crimes bill before Congress threatened the free-speech rights of pastors.

Jackson believes such legislation elevates the homosexual community to a protected class.

Bishop Jackson"It puts their claim that they're discriminated against into a real civil rights argument," Jackson contends. "And ultimately in every place around the world where this kind of legislation has been passed, we find that people have taken out lawsuits against preachers for preaching what the Bible says about sexuality and morality. And it is grounds for a kind of harassment that, I believe, will bring a cooling of our biblically-based messages."

Jackson says under an Obama administration there is a danger the legislation will pass and stick, so he's issued a challenge to Christians. "Now is not the time to be silent," he says. "Now is the time to lift our voice."

This is a prayer that Reverend Joe Wright prayed in the Kansas Legislature in 1996, and has been going around as "Billy Graham's prayer for the nation".  This prayer is very good for these days, so I am sending it to you with the information that I got off   www.truthorfiction.com and you can also check it for yourself.

The Truth:
This event actually happened in the Kansas House (not Senate) in Topeka on January 23, 1996.   Joe Wright is the pastor of Central Christian Church in Wichita and was guest chaplain that day.  He prayed a prayer of repentance that was written by Bob Russell, pastor of  Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. According to an article in the Kansas City Star from January 24, 1996, his prayer did stir controversy and one member of the legislative body walked out.  Others criticized the prayer.  The controversy didn't end there.  Later that year in the Colorado House, Republican representative Mark Paschall angered lawmakers by using Joe Wright's prayer as the invocation.  Some members there also walked out in protest.

Paul Harvey did air the story and the prayer.  He got such a large response that a phone number was set up to handle the calls.  He's aired it a couple more times since.

THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.  We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.  We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.  We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.  We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.  We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.  We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.  We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.  Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

I sure ain't perfect. I sin everyday. American and Texas born, and proud of both. I was raised by honest hard working parents who survived the "Great Depression". I believe that political correctness is destroying this country. I believe that until we take care of "our" children and "our" elderly that all foreign aid should be outlawed.
