I once spent a highly frustrating hour trying to get a student to find Phoenix Arizona on a map, He persistently  tried to find it  first in Europe and then Africa. He was doing a little better than John McCain and he had a functioning IQ of about 70. You cannot tell me John McCain actually knew he was talking about Spain and it's prime minister. I have listened to that train wreck of an interview several times now and it gets worse every time. That his staff tried to make It better by insisting that he knew he was insulting the Spanish government is appalling.I know he is probably exhausted and that the campaign is very draining and he IS 72..BUT,do we really want this man in charge? Do we want him fumbling around trying to remember the difference between Iraq  and Iran ,Shite and  Suni, Erope and South America?
Surely, someone on his staff has written" there is no Czechoslovakia"  on his hand for him by now.So far in this campaign he has shown he is  CLEARLY not an expert on foriegn relations and he is totally out of touch with our"fundamentaly sound"economy. He main campaign theme, that he intendends to be an agent of change, is highly suspect as he has been in Washington for  26 years and has yet to effect any great change, Sorry folks he is too old and out of touch with reality, this man does not need to be President of the United States.

momcat when I see McCain speak I honestly wonder if dementia is setting in. He constantly stumbles over his words then has to correct himself.
I don't want a man like that having military codes, not that he could remember most of them anyway.

He is just off. Did you see him talking about the off shore oil platforms that "the fish just loved"? He just seemed like he was babbling. My parents are sharp at 75 and I have an aunt 100 but I don't want any of them in the presidency.Well, I take that back, Aunt Jesse was a professor of political science who lectured at Harvard still lives alone and is a lifelong Democrat. As long as she got a long nap everyday she might just be better than McCain

McCain is constantly getting confused when he speaks it's funny but sad. A lot has been made of him living long enough to complete his term due to his age.
I'm wondering if he is mentally competent to complete his term.

I wonder if he is competent to be a senator.

My worst fear is McCain becomes Prez, and something happens to him. We are left with a clueless leather faced, gun toting dunderhead as our leader.

I recall a certain Senator say he had been in 57 states and is a complete stuttering machine when not reading from a teleprompter. Ah, but that's just selective criticism. Nothing like what you two fine ladies are offering.

I missed the 57 state thing but I have seen Obama speak and he is mesmerizing,a very gifted orator. We all stutter on occasion, I don't fault McCain for that but he is more than a little fuzzy on some very important issues.

McCain and Palinites always point to the 57 states thing. Obama made one mistake, McCain makes them every time he opens his mouth.
Obama is a gifted public speaker, McCain is dull and absentminded.

I can't deny he is a great speaker. One of the best out there. WHEN there is a teleprompter present. Did you by chance happen to watch the Saddleback Forum held a number of weeks back? WOW! Obama was just not the same when his speech or comments are not in front of him. Stuttering on occasion is a understatement.

I'd much rather have a President that had actually VOTED on issues when a Senator than someone who can't find any button but "Present".

It also seems that everytime the Big O (zero) did make a vote, he stated "Oh, I MEANT to vote Yes (if he voted no) or No (if he voted yes).

I can imagine him voting FOR nuclear war and as soon as they are launched stammering, "Uh, uh, uh,....I MEANT to say NO to nuclear war."

At least BOTH McCain & Palin can make decisions based on information.

A vote for O is a vote FOR incompetence.

Yes, he voted. he voted just like George did better than 90%of the time.No one here has addressed the issue that John McCain is clearly having some cognitive problems.Come on guys, he is slipping and during the most important campaign of his life. There is.quiet literally, a world of difference between Spain and South America.
