Sarah Palin has been harping on one string lately, that is her one talent, and the particular tune she is playing currently  is that Obama was a a known associate of a terrorist . Really, when William Ayers was a part of the weathermen Barack Obama was EIGHT. These days Bill Ayers is a respected educator and hasn't buiilt or advocated building a bomb in  years. He and Sen Obama have sat on the same committees and I believe Ayers endorsed him at the beginning of his political career. I've sat on a lot of committees with a lot of people some of whom I really disliked and had nothing in common

But if McCarthy-era guilt-by-association is once again a valid political consideration, Palin, it would seem, has more to lose than Obama. Following her own logic, Palin thinks so little of America's perfection that she continues to "pal around" with a man--her husband, actually--who only recently terminated his seven-year membership in the Alaskan Independence Party. Putting plunder above patriotism, the members of this group aim to break our country into pieces and walk away with Alaska's rich federal oil fields and one-fifth of America's land base--an area three-fourths the size of the Civil War Confederacy.

AIP's charter commits the party "to the ultimate independence of Alaska," from the United States which it refers to as "the colonial bureaucracy in Washington." It proclaims Alaska's 1959 induction as a state "as illegal and in violation of the United Nations charter and international law."

AIP's creation was inspired by the rabidly violent anti-Americanism of its founding father Joe Vogler, "I'm an Alaskan, not an American," reads a favorite Vogler quote on AIP's current website, "I've got no use for America or her d***** institutions." AIP's central purpose was to drive Alaska's secession from the United States. Alaska,Current Chairwoman Lynette Clark, says Alaska "should be an independent nation."

Vogler was murdered in 1993 during an illegal sale of plastic explosives that went bad. Plastic explosives? Aren't they used to make BOMBS? The prior year, he had renounced his allegiance to the United States explaining that, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government." He cursed the stars and stripes, promising, "I won't be buried under their ****** flag...when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."  Neither Palin has never denounced Vogler or his blatant anti-Americanism.

Palin's husband Todd remained an AIP party member from 1995 to 2002. Sarah can be described in McCarthy-era vernacular as a "fellow traveler." While retaining her Republican registration, she attended the AIP's 1994 convention where the party called for a draft constitution to secede from the United States and create an independent nation of Alaska. The McCain Campaign has reluctantly acknowledged that she also attended AIP's 2000 Convention. She apparently found the experience so inspiring that she agreed to give a keynote address at the AIP's 2006 convention and she recorded a video greeting for this year's 2008 convention. In other words, this is not something that happened when she was eight!

So when Palin accuses Barack of "not seeing the same America as you and me," maybe she is referring to an America without Alaska. In any case, isn't it time the media start giving equal time to Palin's buddy list of anti-American bombers and other radical associates.

People should really take a closer look at McCain's affiliation with Keating, who was a convicted felon, instead of looking at an "association" when Obama was eight. And Ayers wasn't convicted.

This is not factual at all.

I have been reading stories about McCain's vicious temper fits of rage lately. You can find several stories with different interviews with people talking about his "rage fits". I don't want a guy like that making military decisions on a video game much less the country.

You are correct, Chris and Dak.

Don't forget in 1985 when Dorn bombed that judge's house for being the sitting judge on a case set to condemn some violent black panthers. And don't forget after 9/11 what Ayers AND Rev. Wright said. Don't forget.

I'd rather have someone with "rage fits" than someone who can't make a decision on his own. You know, keeps our enemies on their toes.

Which part do you find not factual? That Todd Palin belonged to AIP or that Barack Obama was eight when William Ayers was notorious? I can assure you they are both true.

Well put momcat54. And to anyone who doesn't think that what you said is true, you can see his voter registration card online. Also on youtube you can see many videos of Sarah Palin speaking at the AIP's convention back when she was a mayor.

They looked up to Vogler, although they may have never met him, he was a terrorist. Todd belonged to that group of nut jobs there is no disputing that. They both supported the AIP.

Obama was not EIGHT years old when his friend William Ayers said, "I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we didn't do enough" NY Times, Sep 2001. Obama was not 8 years old when Obama and Ayers were serving on the Woods Fund together and Ayers posed standing on an American Flag for an article in Chicago magazine entitled "No Regrets" 2008-01. Momcat you do not know what radical is. Take another look at the Weathermen.

I believe Sen Obama has called this despicable. I don't think they are friends and I believe John McCain knows that . I worked with a lot of people who were not my friends ,they did not speak for me or I for them. And yes, I do know what a radical is I see them here all the time

“Governor Palin has been a registered Republican since 1982,” Rogers says, providing some voter registration documentation showing her to be a Republican. “As you know, if she changed her registration, there would have been some record of it. There isn’t.”

Your people just made this up based on one clip of her talking to some of them one time. You believe stories that are easily disproven because you want to. C'mon. Would you like her better if she was ugly? Maybe if she thought killing babies was ok?

I posted her voter registration form on my blog - from when she was 18. No party changes have been found. Sadly, your info is wrong. Sadly.

The facts are she is married to Todd who was, and I'm sure still is associated with those nuts in AIP. I don't care what voter registration card has. Sarah Palin has been to several AIP conventions, that is not made up. Furthermore, she's Alaskin' trash who raised a daughter to be just like her.

Shame on you momcat for calling S.P. and daughter trash. Typical liberal rebuttal. Not very nice in this Christian world. Maybe you would be better off in the Muslin world.

Excuse me I did not call them trash. It is however a fact that she appeared at the AIP convention and that Todd was a member for several years. By her own logic that would mean she associated with terrorists and those who espouse terroristic methods/
