I hate it when people stereotype Texans . You know what I am talking about. Those poor souls who think JR and Sue Ellen are typical. Those who think that oil is pumping out in the back yard and we hitch our horse up to go to town.  We don't all drive trucks, wear boots , sport giant belt buckles or  have big hair. There fore I was appalled to see what was apparently the entire Texas delegation at the RNC wearing straw stetsons , or their cheaper equivalent. People it's bad enough you backed a faux Texan with GW don't perpetuate that awful sterotype . ARGHHHH I want some cheese and white wine, .

Bristol Palin and Jamie Lyn Spears are not realistic models of teen pregnancy. The beatification of Bristol and Jamie Lyn is setting  up a foolish and false example for other teens. I am rapidly becoming sickened by the constant cry of "I am so proud of her" , "At least she didn't kill the baby." GAG ME. Bristol and Jamie Lyn will have two things 99% of most  pregnant teenagers will not do not have. MONEY and SUPPORT,   They are foolish teenagers who had unprotected sex and will not pay the same consequences that  the majority of young parents do.Most teen pregnancies are disasters and we all know it. Babies born to teenagers have multiple strikes against them from the start. They will be born to parents who are not married and most likely never will be. Their fathers will not have an everyday stable role in their lives and  worse, they are often the third  generation born in that same circumstance. Their parents are under educated ( lifetime minimum wages for them) and will ,generally fall into the welfare and food stamp program. Chances are  very high they will repeat this cycle themselves. All those right to life people who applaud these choices so vigorously will also complain, and loudly,y when they have to pay for this welfare. These young girls will not give up the child for adoption for "those loving homes who are dieing to adopt" their children will be raised by grandma,, 30ish,  great  grandma, 50ish, or let to run the streets. Some will go into the foster care system, another great place for kids.

Let's be honest here. Bristol Palin is NOT a valid example of your typical pregnant teen and she is setting an unrealistic example for other teens.

I noted today that parents and students were being turned away from Duncanville High school. One parent expressed her outrage that the school district was not prepared to accept her student. She had had TWO WEEKS during the summer and a make up day yet had not registered her child.   How can anyone be that obtuse? They were given notice at the end of the last school year, mailed notice during the summer and still hundreds just strolled in this morning to register.  People you are the parent  it is YOUR job to do these things. I know getting yourchild the right clothesis all important but for the love of God the brain is more important than their clothes.

A female, with two very small children, left them with a homeless man while she went to do drugs and have sex in a porta potty. WHat a class act!  She looks a little worried in her mug shot. Personally I hope she is never allowed  access to those babies again .

Since I got deleted not once but twice I will  voice my opinion here. They have started construction on the new Berlin wall out in California.  I honestly don't know why they  think this will do any good. It is a government project. This dooms it to failure almost immediately . There will be "cost over runs:"that's government speak for  a lot more money than we planed on. Time issues  , it will takes months if not years longer than projected and ,as it will go to the lowest bidder, the workmanship will be shoddy. As fast as they can build the wall there will be tunnels dug under it . It will stand as a monument to the smallness of SOME American hearts and minds and as constant drain of taxpayer money.

I literally spit my orange juice out when I heard this one. DISD has lost it's collective mind. This is ridiculous!!!!! You might as well just give everyone a C and get it over with.  Students need to be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof . Do overs if you fail a test? . Missing assignments, no homework Holy Carp  . Why not just give everyone the TAKS test September 1st and call it a day. If they pass they've graduated high school . This is just encouraging a nation of mediocrity, Why study ,why work, why try to excel! ARGHHHHH

I have been watching the Olympics and besides being madly jealous of such huge athletic talent  I am deeply impressed by the effort the Chinese have put into this. While I don't agree with a great many of their policies I cannot help but be impressed with so much they have done. A nation wide effort to learn English, the meticulous planning that went into the opening ceremonies , All very impressive. I wonder if we Americans would go through anywhere close to what they have done? ?I think we need to remember that there are 1.25 BILLION of them and they are very focused/Can you see any of us much less a million or so trying to learn Chinese? AN interesting group.

I am undecided on this issue. It reminds me of the Dr, Seuss book. " Horton hatches an egg"It seems this woman was happy to have someone else raise and care for her children till  she needed them for what ever reason. Something in me says this lady really believes she was protecting the children but then again they may have filled an empty part in her heart and life.It is a bad situation for both the women and the children. I am sure the babies, and they are babies, are attached to the woman who has cared for them and loved them for three years. It s probably the most stable home they have known. As for the mom I just don't know. I couldn't leave my children with a virtual stranger for three years , There are missing parts of this story . DO these children have a father? Where is he?Does mom have a job or home to bring the children too? Has she had regular contact since she went back to NOLA? There are a lot of  unanswered question here

I love my dogs dearly and I have spent a fortune over the years on their health and care but Holy Smoke!  I can't believe anyone would spend 50,000 to have an animal cloned. This lady sold  her house to pay to have her pet, a pit bull, cloned. For fifty thousand she could have funded a shelter for a year . She could have adopted and saved countless animals. I know there are people who prefer pure breds and I am happy to supply them but even I  wouldn't do this.I think she is just a little off plumb on this , You send a child through college for this ammount! Am I alone? Would any of you do this?

I watched the news tonight and saw the warning about hot playground equipment and the not terribly bright woman who "hadn't thought about that"I cannot believe that anyone would have their child out in the 107 heat on a playground without shade anyway. How much common sense does it take to feel of a slide or swing before you let your child play on it.? In this heat keep you child cool , let them play in a wading pool or sprinkler ,take them to the mall if you must but JEEEZ Luise show some sense,

Oh have mercy, how stupid can you get?Over the past few years  when this has happened, and it seems to happen with a dismaying frequency, I always think"" did they just get up this morning and decide to throw their lives away?" You do not cross that line, I don't care  how young, how hot ,how willing, the student is you don't cross that line. I have seen it happen on an occasion or two, from an up close view and it has ruined  careers, marriages and lives. In the very old days it was not too unusual for a teacher to VERY quietly date and marry a student but that was in the day when dating was a far more innocent activity. The student was always a senior and the teacher was usually very young too. For a female teacher to date or marry a student was absolutely unheard of . Not today sadly, it crosses all ages and sexes .I started teaching at 21.  I was married , still am , but even if I had been single it would never has crossed my mind. As a teacher you are in a position of trust and authority. These young students are your ad hoc children, You don't have sex with your children. Have mercy.

I think I may throw up.

Florida woman who has been married to both the former head of the Ku Klux Klan and the creator of a notorious white supremacist Web site is working as a spokeswoman for a school that aims to lift underprivileged black and Hispanic children out of poverty.

An executive with an organization that tracks hate groups calls the employment of the woman, Chloe Black, an "untenable position" and "unbelievable."

Black, the ex-wife of former KKK leader David Duke, is now married to Don Black, the creator of the white-power hate site Stormfront. Chloe Black is currently employed as an executive assistant at Florida Crystals, a sugar conglomerate whose owners, the Fanjul brothers, have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to help build a new campus for Glades Academy.

Glades is a charter school for the children of African-American and migrant workers in Pahokee, a rural town in Palm Beach County. Billionaire Jose "Pepe" Fanjul's wife, Emilia, is chairman of the board of Glades Academy, and she hired Black to help promote the school.

Reports suggest that Black's salary from the school may be going to support her husband's activities on the hate site, as Don Black has had no clear source of income for some time.

Don Black, in an online appeal for contributions to his hate site, wrote that he does not receive a salary from the site. "Stormfront is an online community of White activists," he wrote. "It's not a business, no one receives a salary, and our work is supported by voluntary contributions."

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based non-profit organization that tracks hate groups, Don Black has not had a regular job for “years and years,” though the SPLC could not prove that Chloe Black’s salary from Florida Crystals was going to support Stormfront.

When contacted by FOXNews.com, Chloe Black refused to discuss the allegations or her role in Glades Academy. She told the New York Post earlier this month that she hasn’t been involved with the white supremacy movement “in 30 years.”

But the SPLC, which has followed the Blacks as principal leaders of the white supremacist movement for decades, said that is not true.

Mark Potok, the SPLC’s intelligence project director, said Black in June attended a key conference of the Council of Conservative Citizens, a group that says on its Web site that it opposes “all efforts to mix the races of mankind” and once described black people as “a retrograde species of humanity.”

“The SPLC’s role is not to make demands of the Fanjuls. But they have put as a front woman on this very worthy philanthropic project a woman who represents everything that is antithetical to this project. This is an untenable position. She is not merely a woman who married white supremacist leaders; she has actively participated in white supremacist functions,” Potok said.

Potok said he found Black’s involvement with Glades Academy “unbelievable.”

There is no indication that the Fanjuls or Florida Crystals were aware of Chloe Black’s right-wing sympathies when she was appointed to speak on behalf of Glades Academy.

Gaston Cantens, Florida Crystals' vice president of corporate relations, did not respond to repeated requests by FOXNews.com for comment but has been quoted as saying that the company does not “comment on the private lives of our employees.”

But a cursory look at Black's resume would have revealed her connections to the Knights of the KKK and the National Party.

In 1972 the then Chloe Hardin married David Duke, former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the KKK who is described as a neo-Nazi by his critics. They divorced in 1984 but are reportedly still friendly and speak regularly. Black is the mother of Duke’s two daughters.

Four years later she married Don Black, Duke’s best friend and an ex-Klansman himself. Black is the founder and webmaster of Stormfront, the premier online location for white supremacists in the U.S. and Europe.

“Don Black and David Duke are not lightweight nationalists,” Potok said. “They are rabid white separatists. Duke is better described as a neo-Nazi more than anything else.”

The Black family residence in West Palm Beach has been registered in Chloe Black’s name since the year she separated from Duke.

According to the SPLC, 32 percent of Pahokee residents live in poverty. The Glades Academy project aims not only to educate the children in the area, but encourage graduates to give back to the community.

This is amazing. Did she really think that no one would run a background check. ?? I cannot fathom the mind  set on this. I don't think her political views have changed nor are they likely to. Maybe she was trying to do some PR work on the separate but equal front.?The whole statement that she hadn't been involved in the  supremacist movement for thirty years is absurd. She lives with a Nazi for heavens sake.

It's started, the annual idiocy that leads to lake deaths. It happens every year people who cannot swim decide they can. It may take a few beers  but then they take the leap or stagger into deep water and they don't come out. Some people actually can swim  and still drown it's just that their alcohol blood level get's higher than their IQ and in they go too. It is simple , if you can't swim stay out of the water if you can swim don't drink and try to swim and keep your children out of the water too. JEEEEBUS CHRIFT Stupidity makes me angry

A teenager pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges that he coerced his two young nephews into smoking marijuana.

Demetris McCoy will serve a decreased prison sentence as part of a deal with prosecutors that will have him testifying against another defendant, according to his lawyer.

Ruben Gonzalez said his client would serve three eight-year sentences to be served consecutively for two counts of child endangerment and two counts of burglary.

In exchange for the eight-year sentence, McCoy will testify against his friend, Vanswan Polty.

The two teens were captured on video teaching and encouraging a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old to smoke marijuana, police said.

Fort Worth police seized the video after searching a home in Wautaga in February 2007.

The video generated nationwide outrage because it showed the McCoy, 17 and Polty, 18, allegedly holding a marijuana-filled cigar in the boys' mouths and lighting it.

Police said Polty and McCoy badgered the little boys into getting high.

The children appeared to be familiar with smoking and coughed when they inhaled.

After the tape surfaced, Child Protective Services gained custody of the boys.  Subsequent blood tests on the children revealed that they also had cocaine in their systems.

In a jail house interview on March 22, 2007, McCoy said it's common where he comes from for children to do drugs.

"I see it all the time," he said.

McCoy also said that he was high when he was encouraging the boys to smoke pot.

The boys' mother told police she was asleep in another part of the home and was unaware of what was happening. She relinquished her parental rights in December 2007.

Not to say I taught some bad kids but let us say I am well aquainted with one of  these young men and totally unsurprised by  what he did.It is really very sad. sometimes no matter how hard you try there are some children you cannot save. It is generational and a more than uphill battle but you cannot help those who will not help themselves.
